Maserati S.p.A., an Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer, was established on December 1, 1914, in Bologna, Italy. The company's headquarters are currently located in Modena, and its emblem is a trident. Since 2021, Maserati has been owned by Stellantis. Maserati, initially associated with Ferrari, achieved a milestone in May 2014 by selling a record of over 3,000 cars in one month. This success prompted an increase in production for the Quattroporte and Ghibli models. Apart from these, Maserati offers the Maserati GranTurismo and two SUV models, namely the Maserati Levante (the first-ever Maserati SUV) and the Maserati Grecale. Notably, Maserati has set a yearly production output cap at 75,000 vehicles globally. In terms of history, the Maserati brothers, Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore, and Ernesto, were pioneers in the automobile industry from the early 20th century. The suspension of race car production by Diatto in 1926 led to the creation of the first Maserati and the establishment of the Maserati marque. The trident logo, designed by Mario Maserati, is based on the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna's Piazza Maggiore, symbolizing strength and vigor. Despite the death of Alfieri Maserati in 1932, the firm persisted under the guidance of Bindo, Ernesto, and Ettore. Maserati's rich history, association with Ferrari, and diverse luxury vehicle lineup, including groundbreaking SUV models, contribute to its status as a prominent player in the automotive industry.
