MINI

Mini is a British automotive brand with a rich history dating back to 1959 when the name "Mini" replaced the separate "Austin Mini" and "Morris Mini" car model names. Acquired by German automotive company BMW in 2000, Mini has been known for its range of small cars assembled in the United Kingdom, Austria, and the Netherlands. The original Mini, manufactured by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and later part of British Leyland, became a symbol of British motoring. Performance versions, notably the Cooper models, gained prominence through a partnership with racing legend John Cooper. The iconic Mini continued production until the year 2000. After BMW's acquisition of Rover Group in 1994, including the Mini brand, a modern successor to the Mini was developed, leading to the launch of an entirely new model in 2001. The current Mini lineup features the Hardtop, Hatch, Convertible (three-door hatchback), and Countryman (five-door crossover). Assembled in various locations, including BMW's Plant Oxford in Cowley, England, and VDL Nedcar in Born, Netherlands, the Mini range offers a diverse selection of models. Notably, Mini vehicles have made their mark in rallying, with the Mini Cooper S achieving success at the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965, and 1967. Since 2011, Mini has been actively participating in the World Rally Championship through the Prodrive WRC Team. In 2012, a total of 301,526 Mini vehicles were sold worldwide, showcasing the brand's global appeal and continued success.
