On April 25, the 2024 Beijing Auto Show officially opened. The MINI brand debuted the MINI COOPER SE for the first time. This car is produced by Spotlight Automotive Ltd., a joint venture of GWM and BMW. It is powered by pure electricity and has a maximum WLTP working condition cruising range of 402km.

The MINI COOPER SE adheres to the design style that the MINI brand has always adhered to. The size has once again increased to a certain extent, and the model recognition is still very high. The headlights and large mouths still adopt a circular design, which is believed to easily capture young girls. The front of the car inherits MINI's highly symbolic round headlight design, with a striking new octagonal air intake grille. Functionally, the LED headlights have three modes and can also be turned on for interactive welcome and farewell animations.

On the side of the car body, the black sill is reinforced, the visual height of the car body is lower. The waistline uses a through design, and the side of the car body is dotted with layers. Matrix LED taillights also have three adjustment modes, which is still the classic vertical lamp group shape of MINI. It conceals the checkered flag elements, in the shape of a triangle, also have three modes.

The interior uses minimalist elements, retaining only three basic components - the steering wheel, a circular central display, and toggle switches. The interior also retains a large degree of circular design. The central multimedia screen uses a 24 cm diameter narrow edge OLED, which has very accurate colors and excellent image quality. The screen image can also be extended to the entire interior panel through projection technology.

The new car uses the MINI OS 9 operating system, and the driving experience has been greatly enhanced. Digital pets have also been included. Eight "experience modes" will be released - initial mode, karting mode, energy-saving mode, relax mode, nostalgic mode, customizable mode, party mode, and nomadic mode - each with its own user interface. With just a "Hello MINI", you can awaken the MINI smart personal assistant. The assistant can recognize the speaker's location and perform functions such as making calls, starting navigation, and controlling the temperature.

In terms of power, the entry-level MINI COOPER SE is equipped with a 135kW (184 horsepower) electric motor, matched with a 40.7kWh battery pack. The higher-end version of the MINI COOPER SE is equipped with a 160kW (218 horsepower) electric motor, using a 54.2kWh battery pack, with a maximum WLTP range of 402 kilometers and an acceleration of 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

BYD discloses four patents for variable flux permanent magnet synchronous motors, addressing the efficiency conflict of motors at high and low speeds in automobiles
Traditional permanent magnet synchronous motors can provide strong torque at low speeds, but on highways, the fixed rotor magnetic flux leads to increased back electromotive force, causing a sharp drop in efficiency. This long-standing contradiction in the industry has now found a new solution with the announcement of BYD's latest technology patent.
