The competition in the luxury electric SUV market is becoming increasingly intense, with consumers seeking not only brand reputation and luxury quality but also higher requirements for range, space, and technological configurations. As the flagship SUV in BMW's electrification transformation, the 2025 iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro is positioned at the Executive level, with its key selling points focused on a powerful 544PS output, an official range of 701km, and sporty attributes supported by the M Sport package. This test drive focuses on its static luxury feel, dynamic performance, and daily practicality, aiming to verify whether this electric flagship can balance its luxurious positioning with practical needs.

In terms of exterior design, the iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro maintains the avant-garde style of the family design, featuring a closed kidney grille combined with the exclusive front bumper for M Sport, delivering a strong visual impact. The body lines are sleek, and the coupe-like rear extending from the A-pillar reduces the bulky feel of the SUV. The 22-inch alloy wheels and 275/40 R22 tires further enhance the sporty stance. The rear features through-type LED taillights, which are highly recognizable when lit, and the diffuser design of the rear bumper aligns with the sporty character of M Sport. The lighting system is fully equipped with LED as standard, and the automatic headlights and daytime running lights are practical for daily use.

Inside, the interior offers a combination of luxury and technology. The center console features a 14.9-inch curved dual screen integrated with the iDrive 8.0 system, which operates smoothly and offers rich functionality. The seats are made of genuine leather, with the front seats supporting electric adjustment and memory functions, showcasing a balance between wrapping and support. The materials used in the interior primarily comprise soft leather and metallic trims, achieving the expected level of luxury. In terms of space, the car has dimensions of 4965mm in length, 1970mm in width, and 1695mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3000mm. Rear legroom is generous, with enough space for a 175cm tall passenger to have a two-fist gap behind the front seats. The trunk has a capacity of 500L and the rear seats support a 60:40 split-folding configuration, which can be expanded to accommodate larger items. The storage space is practical, with a capacious central armrest box and door panel storage compartments. The front row is equipped with a wireless charging pad, and both front and rear rows provide USB-C ports, offering good convenience.

In terms of power specifications, the iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro is equipped with dual permanent magnet synchronous motors at the front and rear, delivering a combined output of 400kW (544PS) and a peak torque of 765N·m, with an official 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.6 seconds. In actual driving, the power response during the initial start is quick, and a light press on the accelerator pedal delivers a noticeable push-back feeling. Mid-to-late acceleration remains robust, providing ample confidence for overtaking. The driving modes include Eco, Comfort, and Sport, with Sport mode offering more direct power output, and the steering feel becomes heavier. The chassis employs a front double-wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension system, tuned towards comfort. It effectively absorbs vibrations on bumpy roads while maintaining body stability. During high-speed cornering, body roll is well-controlled, and the suspension provides sufficient support, avoiding significant swaying. The braking performance is linear, with moderate pedal pressure, and the vehicle's posture remains stable during emergency braking.

In terms of range, the vehicle is equipped with a 111.5kWh lithium-ion battery, with an official range of 701km. This test drive covered approximately 200km, including urban traffic, highway cruising, and suburban roads, with an average energy consumption of about 22kWh/100km, estimating an actual range of about 600km, achieving roughly 85% of the official figure, which meets expectations. Fast charging time is 0.58 hours (10%-80%), while slow charging takes 5.75 hours, catering to different charging scenarios. Noise control performance is excellent, with wind and tire noise well suppressed during highway driving. The electric motor operates quietly, and the cabin achieves a level of serenity comparable to luxury cars. Energy recuperation offers three adjustable levels, providing significant deceleration in the highest setting, enabling one-pedal driving and reducing driving fatigue.

Overall, the core strengths of the 2025 BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro lie in its powerful performance, spacious interior, and luxurious interior quality. Compared to its peers, such as the Mercedes EQE SUV, the iX offers better acceleration and a longer range. Compared to the Tesla Model X, it provides a sense of luxury and chassis tuning that better aligns with the preferences of traditional luxury brand users. In terms of pricing, the RM 487,800 guide price places it in the mid-to-upper range of Executive-level electric SUVs, but considering its configuration and brand value, it remains relatively competitive.

This car is suitable for family users who value luxury and performance or young consumers seeking a high-tech experience. Its spacious interior meets the needs of family travel, while its strong performance and sporty tuning also offer driving pleasure. If you’re looking for an electric flagship SUV that can handle daily commutes and occasional speed thrills, the iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro is worth considering.

In summary, the 2025 BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro is a well-balanced luxury electric SUV that combines powerful performance, a luxurious interior, and practical space. It stands out in its class as a strong competitor. Whether for daily commuting or long-distance travel, this vehicle delivers a premium driving experience, making it an unmissable option in the luxury electric SUV market.

Every morning rush hour, weaving through traffic for overtakes feels awesome, and the 4.6-second push-back sensation makes being stuck on the road less frustrating. The panoramic sunroof view of the rain is fantastic, the Harman Kardon sound quality is powerful, 701 kilometers of range lasts for a week with one charge, and fast charging is done in half an hour. But the safety feels a bit lacking, always worried about slippery roads on rainy days.

Previously drove a fuel-powered X5, only after switching to the iX did I understand the charm of electric vehicles! The M Sport Pro package grabs full attention on the streets of Kuala Lumpur, paired with 22-inch wheels and a kidney grille that exude dominance. During the Jalan Ampang rush hour traffic, the one-pedal mode makes following cars effortlessly smooth, the 765Nm torque is instantly responsive, and it's much more agile in weaving through traffic compared to fuel cars. Took the family to Genting Highlands over the weekend, and the dual-motor all-wheel drive handled steep slopes like a champ. With a 701km range, the round trip didn't require recharging, and a quick charging session of 45 minutes fully recharged it – way more convenient than my friend's Tesla Model X. The interior uses eco-friendly materials, though the suede roof liner tends to gather dust and requires frequent cleaning. During sunny days at the Penang beach, the panoramic sunroof gets a bit hot, but the HUD and curved display take the tech feel to the next level. At 480,000 MYR, it's not cheap, but in the luxury EV segment in Malaysia, there's no match for this range and performance. Totally worth it!

Last week, took the family to Genting Highlands. During the uphill drive in heavy rain, the xDrive four-wheel drive + 765N·m torque provided instantaneous power with every press of the accelerator, and the car body was so steady during cornering it felt like it was glued to the road. The Harman Kardon sound system delivered amazing sound quality in the tunnel, but the co-pilot storage compartment was a bit shallow. While following the car ahead on the highway with ACC, the lane departure warning promptly corrected my small moment of distraction. The 22-inch wheels with the M package garnered full attention in Kuala Lumpur's city streets despite the rainy weather, but you need to drive a bit slower over speed bumps. With a 701km range, it's enough for three trips to Penang, and the fast charging replenishes 80% in 40 minutes, very convenient.

This morning, during the heavy rain, the car braked suddenly and stayed as stable as if glued to the road, instantly filling me with a sense of safety!
