The Executive-level luxury sedan market has always been a core choice for users who value texture and practicality, capable of meeting the dignified needs of business occasions while also accommodating the spatial comfort required for family outings. The 2021 BMW 6 Series GT 630i M Sport, as a key model in this segment, not only features upgrades in intelligent equipment but has also drawn attention regarding how it balances performance and value after price adjustments. This test drive will focus on static experience, dynamic performance, and daily practicality, providing potential buyers with an intuitive reference.

The 2021 6 GT continues to feature a fastback design with streamlined and muscular overall lines. The front adopts BMW’s signature kidney grille with a moderate size that doesn't appear exaggerated. Paired with the M Sport package's front bumper, it enhances its sportiness. Along the side, the 5091mm body length and 3070mm wheelbase ensure elegant proportions, while the 20-inch dual-tone wheels (front 245/40 R20, rear 275/35 R20) further enhance visual tension. At the rear, the LED taillights are smoked for higher recognition, and the diffuser design of the rear bumper, combined with the dual-exhaust layout, complements the sporty positioning. The lighting system comes standard with LED light sources, ensuring the practicality of automatic headlights and daytime running lights is not a concern.

Upon opening the door, the interior showcases a blend of luxury and technology. The dashboard combines soft-touch materials with metallic trims, providing a delicate tactile feel. The 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen control center of the same size create a dual-screen effect. Compared to the 10.25-inch control screen of the 2020 model, the display area is larger, and operation fluency has also been improved. The multifunction steering wheel comes with paddle shifters and supports electric adjustment with memory functions, while the standard HUD head-up display system shows information such as speed and navigation, enhancing the convenience of driving. Regarding seating, the front seats, including both driver and passenger, support electric adjustment with memory functions. The rear seats adopt a 40:20:40 split-fold design, allowing for proportional folding. The dual-zone automatic climate control and independent rear air conditioning ensure comfort for both front and rear passengers. The Keyless Operation system, which allows for keyless entry and ignition, is also standard.

In terms of space, the 3070mm wheelbase provides spacious rear legroom. A passenger with a height of 180cm sitting in the rear seat will still have about two fists of space between their knees and the front seat. The trunk has a regular capacity of 610L, which can be further expanded by folding down the rear seats, meeting the needs for long family trips or transporting large items. The in-car storage space is abundant, with practical capacity in the central armrest box, door panel storage compartments, and front cup holders. The rear is also equipped with cup holders and a 220V/230V power outlet, making it convenient for passengers to use electronic devices.

In terms of power, the 2021 6 GT is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine, providing a maximum power of 258PS and a peak torque of 350N·m (estimated based on typical parameters for this displacement), paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 6.5 seconds. During actual driving, the power response is active at the start, with the turbo kicking in early. The mid-to-late acceleration also offers good reserves, and pressing the accelerator deeply when overtaking delivers a clear sense of thrust. There are three driving modes: Comfort, Sport, and ECO Pro. In Comfort mode, gear shifts are smooth, making it suitable for daily commutes. In Sport mode, gear changes are delayed, and power output is more direct. Combined with paddle shifters, it provides a certain degree of driving pleasure.

The handling performance meets BMW's consistent standards, with precise steering and minimal play in the steering wheel. It is light at low speeds and stable at high speeds. The chassis uses a front double-wishbone independent suspension and a rear multi-link independent suspension, tuned for comfort, filtering out most road bumps effectively. Vibrations when passing speed bumps are also well suppressed. The body roll is well controlled in corners, while the 20-inch wide tires provide ample grip, resulting in good stability. In terms of fuel consumption, the official combined fuel consumption is 7.3L/100km, with actual city driving around 8.5L/100km and highway driving about 6.8L/100km. For a vehicle of this class, the fuel consumption is within a reasonable range.

In terms of comfort, the sound insulation inside the car is excellent, with wind and tire noise well-controlled at high speeds. The seat padding is soft yet offers good support, making long drives less tiring. Safety features are comprehensive, including six airbags, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, and active braking as standard. Automatic parking assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera also enhance parking convenience.

Overall, the core advantages of the 2021 BMW 6 Series GT 630i M Sport include spacious interior space, rich configurations (especially the upgraded dual-screen design), and balanced power and handling performance. Compared with competitors in the same class, its fastback design offers a unique visual experience, and space flexibility is better than traditional sedans. However, compared to the 2020 model, the 2021 version sees a price increase of approximately 12,700 Malaysian Ringgit and no longer offers a five-year unlimited mileage warranty (replaced with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty), which potential buyers should note.

This car is suitable for families who value space, comfort, and a sense of luxury, while its sporty tuning can also appeal to some driving enthusiasts. In business scenarios, its dignified appearance and spacious rear seat space are also sufficient. If you are seeking a well-balanced product and have a preference for the BMW brand and driving experience, the 2021 6 GT is a worthy option to consider.

Previously, I was driving a Japanese sedan. I chose the 630i GT M Sport for its sleek coupe-like fastback design combined with GT practicality. During Malaysia's morning rush hour traffic jams, the 2.0T has enough low-end torque, delivering power at just 1500 rpm, making it effortless to follow traffic. On weekends, driving the family to Genting Highlands is a joy; the rear-wheel drive handles corners steadily, and playing Malaysian songs on the Harman Kardon sounds amazing. The M package exterior looks stunning and catches a lot of attention. However, the raised middle section of the rear floor is uncomfortable for long rides, and the 20-inch thin tires are bumpy over speed bumps. Overall, I'm still very satisfied - it's suitable for both family use and occasional spirited driving.

The power of this 6GT 630i is really strong, on the highway it accelerates with just a tap on the gas, so thrilling!

I've been driving the 6GT 630i M Sport for two years, and the Harman Kardon sound system is awesome during traffic jams. Even when the back seats are fully occupied by elders, it's still not cramped. The automatic parking assists me in tight parking spots. The only minor regret is the lack of a spare tire, but the 2.0T engine gives great confidence when overtaking. With top-notch safety features, it's definitely worth the price!

Previously, I drove a Japanese family car, but I switched to the 630i GT M Sport because of its "all-round capabilities." On Malaysia's LDP highway during the morning rush, the 2.0T+rear-wheel drive may not accelerate as quickly as an electric vehicle, but the 6.3-second 0-100 km/h performance is strong enough for overtaking. The steering is precise, and the M Sport package's chassis support is solid. On weekends, when taking the family to Genting Highlands, the spacious rear seat and 610-liter trunk fit a stroller and hiking bag. The Harman Kardon sound system playing Malaysian songs all the way is an absolute delight. The safety deserves a perfect score without exaggeration. I once experienced the active braking on the highway, which averted a rear-end collision with the car ahead. The only small downside is the road noise from the 19-inch large tires, especially on the rough surfaces of the North-South Expressway. However, the exterior design is truly eye-catching with its fastback shape, earning high head-turning rates on KL streets. The interior's digital dashboard and HUD also add a tech-savvy touch. Overall, spending 410,000 Ringgit for a GT that balances practicality and prestige is totally worth it!

This 6GT has been driven for almost two years. It's smooth and steady with the start-stop function in traffic jams, and on the highway, it accelerates with power as soon as you press the gas. Three elders can sit comfortably in the back without feeling cramped, and the trunk can fit all the camping gear for the whole family. The only downside is that the 20-inch tires are a bit bumpy on rough roads, but once the Harman Kardon audio system is on, everything is forgotten.
