Mercedes-Benz EQV 2025 Review

In recent years, the high-end MPV market has been heating up, driven by family users and business needs. More and more consumers are now paying attention to models that offer both comfortable seating for multiple passengers and luxurious configurations. The Mercedes-Benz 2025 EQV 300 Avantgarde, launched this July, is a pure electric MPV product targeting this segment. As one of the rare pure electric luxury MPVs under the brand, it not only continues Mercedes-Benz's consistent sense of quality but also attracts target users through its electric powertrain, spacious layout, and rich intelligent configurations. In this test drive, we will focus on assessing its actual riding experience, performance, and whether its range can meet daily needs.
In terms of appearance, the EQV 300 Avantgarde retains the typical boxy shape of an MPV, with smooth overall lines and high recognizability. The front features a closed grille design with the Mercedes-Benz logo embedded in the center. The sharp LED headlamp assemblies on both sides are connected to the grille, enhancing the visual width. On the side, the 5140mm length and 3200mm wheelbase ensure ample interior space. The 17-inch alloy wheels paired with 245/55 R17 tires create a well-balanced overall proportion. At the rear, the LED tail light cluster adopts a through-type design, offering high recognizability when lit. A chrome trim below the rear bumper adds a sense of refinement.
Inside the cabin, the interior continues the family-style design of Mercedes-Benz. The materials are mainly soft-touch and leather, providing a pleasant tactile and quality feel. The center console is equipped with a 12.3-inch MBUX multimedia system, which has a clear screen resolution, smooth operation, and supports voice control and smartphone connectivity. The multifunction steering wheel is wrapped in leather, with the left side integrating buttons for driver assistance system controls and the right side for multimedia controls, making it convenient to use. The front seats support electric adjustment with memory functions, offering good comfort. The second row features independent captain seats that support one-touch folding and manual adjustment of backrest angle and forward/backward sliding. The third-row seats adopt a 33:33:33 split-folding design, providing high flexibility. Additionally, dual-zone automatic air conditioning and rear independent air conditioning come standard, along with a dual sunroof design to enhance ventilation and lighting inside the car effectively.
In terms of space, the EQV 300 Avantgarde boasts a wheelbase of 3200mm, offering ample seating space for front and rear passengers. A passenger with a height of 175cm seated in the front row has about two fist-widths of headroom. The second-row independent seats provide three fist-widths of legroom and about two fist-widths of headroom, ensuring comfort even on long trips. The trunk's standard capacity is 610L, which can be further expanded by folding the third-row seats, meeting the storage needs for family outings or business receptions. The cabin offers abundant storage spaces, such as the front central armrest box, door panel pockets, and seat side pouches, making it convenient to store small items.
In terms of power, the EQV 300 Avantgarde is equipped with a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering a maximum output of 150kW (204PS) and a peak torque of 365N·m, paired with a single-speed transmission. During daily driving, the power response is quick, with smooth starts and acceleration. Even under full load conditions, it provides sufficient power output. The driving modes include Economy, Comfort, and Sport. In Economy mode, the power output is milder, suitable for daily commuting; in Sport mode, throttle response becomes more sensitive, enhancing acceleration performance. Regarding the chassis, the front suspension is MacPherson independent, while the rear suspension is torsion beam independent, prioritizing comfort in its overall tuning. It effectively filters road bumps, and the body vibration is well-controlled when passing over speed bumps or uneven roads. However, during high-speed cornering, the tall body results in noticeable body roll, so speed control is necessary.
In terms of range and charging, the EQV 300 Avantgarde is equipped with a 90kWh lithium battery pack, with an official pure electric range of 374km. In actual tests, under mixed urban road and highway conditions, the range achievement rate is approximately 85%, which can basically meet the daily commuting needs for a week. In fast charging mode, charging takes 0.66 hours (about 40 minutes) to go from 10% to 80%, whereas slow charging requires a longer time. Regarding energy consumption, the electric power consumption is about 25kWh/100km during urban driving and about 30kWh/100km on highways, with overall performance meeting expectations.
In terms of driving assistance configuration, the EQV 300 Avantgarde comes standard with ACC adaptive cruise control, lane-change assist, lane departure warning, and active braking functions, which can significantly enhance safety during daily driving. The 360-degree panoramic imaging system offers high clarity, making parking more convenient when combined with the front and rear sensors. In terms of noise control, the vehicle produces little noise at low speeds, but wind and tire noise become somewhat noticeable at high speeds. However, the overall noise level remains within an acceptable range.
Overall, the 2025 EQV 300 Avantgarde's core advantages lie in its luxurious interior features, spacious cabin, and the smooth driving experience provided by its pure electric powertrain. Compared to fuel-powered MPVs in the same class, its operating costs are lower, and it aligns with environmental trends; compared to other pure electric MPVs, Mercedes' brand influence and interior quality provide a greater edge. However, its range is not outstanding among pure electric models in the same class, and its price is relatively high.
This model is suitable for families or business users who value ride comfort and brand quality, especially those who often need to accommodate clients or embark on family trips. If you have a need for pure electric power and pursue the quality associated with a luxury brand, the EQV 300 Avantgarde is worth considering.
