The angular design elements add to its uniqueness, making it highly noticeable on the road.

Interior

The interior design is unique, featuring a dual-layer and angular dashboard, with materials that meet the standards of its class. However, there are some ergonomic issues, such as the small hexagonal steering wheel potentially obstructing the instrument panel, the poorly positioned cruise control stalk, and the climate controls being operated through the infotainment screen. The infotainment system itself is not very responsive. Storage space inside the cabin is decent, though the rear seating can feel cramped for three passengers. That said, legroom and headroom are quite good for a vehicle of this size.

Power system

Equipped with a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine, the power delivery is strong and refined enough. However, the transmission is the weak link in the driving experience, with slow gear shifts, roll-back issues, and noticeable jerking.

Driving experience

The steering is light at low speeds, offering agile handling and good maneuverability, while also remaining stable at high speeds. However, the steering feel is not as natural as that of the Mazda CX-3

Ride comfort

The suspension tuning is excellent, delivering good performance on highways and typical roads. However, when encountering sudden bumps or sharp edges, the rear wheels may bounce. In terms of noise, it is not as quiet as the Toyota Corolla Cross.

Fuel consumption

Driving under mixed road conditions for 102 kilometers, with 60% on highways and 40% in the city, it required 8.4 liters of fuel to fill the tank. This results in a fuel consumption of 8.2 liters per 100 kilometers, while the onboard computer shows an average fuel consumption of 8.0 liters per 100 kilometers.

Conclusion

The 2022 Peugeot 2008 has a unique style, and its driving experience is different from mainstream models, offering agility more akin to a hatchback. However, its comfort level is not as high as that of the Corolla Cross. Priced at RM 126,753, whether it is recommended depends on an individual's preference for its distinctive style within its price range.
