【PCauto】Suzuki recently introduced the facelift details of the 2025 Alto, and this classic mini car will be launched first in Japan on July 22nd. As a mid-cycle refresh of the ninth-generation model, the 2025 Alto retains the core characteristics of K-Car while receiving core upgrades in design details and safety technology. With a starting price of ¥1,142,900 (approximately RM35,000) in the Japanese market, 2025 Alto continues to reinforce its position as a high-value compact car.
Redesigned Exterior Remains Off-Center License Plate Layout
The most notable change in the new Alto focuses on its front fascia design. It adopts an open grille structure with cradle-inspired design, which not only enhances visual recognition but also cleverly integrates the millimeter-wave radar module.

The lower grille has been enlarged, paired with the more rounded contours of the front and rear bumpers, creating a more harmonious visual effect. The iconic polygonal rounded headlight clusters and the off-center license plate layout remain unchanged, preserving this generation's features.
The side profile of 2025 Alto appears more three-dimensional due to the newly added rear spoiler. The color scheme now offers eight solid colors and four two-tone combinations, with the newly introduced "Terracotta Pink Metallic" standing out as a highlight. For two-tone versions, the roof color options have been expanded from white to beige and black.

New 7-Inch Infotainment Display
The core of the interior upgrade lies in the new 7-inch infotainment screen, but the entry-level model still uses a "small blackboard" design instead of a screen. The infotainment is combined with Suzuki Connect, supporting basic functions like remote air conditioning control via smartphone.

The cabin layout maintains K-Car's efficient design philosophy. It adopts four-seat configuration, eliminates the central console, integrates the gear shift lever into the dashboard, and retains practical features such as physical air-conditioning knobs, cup holders, and power windows.

The 2025 Alto shows particularly significant improvements in safety performance. The entire lineup now comes standard with a Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) that combines millimeter-wave radar and a monocular camera, capable of detecting vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles. Low-speed brake assist (supporting both forward and reverse operations), lane departure warning, and front parking sensors have also become standard equipment.
Alto Hybrid Achieves Fuel Efficiency of 28.2km/L
2025 Alto offers two powertrain options: a 0.65L three-cylinder gasoline engine delivering 45hp with 55N·m of torque, and a 0.65L mild hybrid system producing a combined output of 48hp and 58N·m. Both variants are paired with a CVT transmission, with the hybrid version achieving an impressive fuel efficiency of 28.2km/L (approximately 3.55L/100km).

Notably, catering to Japan's snowy regions, Alto offers a four-wheel-drive version, which is an important feature that distinguishes this model in the Japanese market from its positioning as a low-cost car in India. For Japanese consumers, the Alto is an urban commuter that combines cute design with all-weather capability.

In Japan, Alto can enjoy tax benefits. Its compact dimensions (3,395mm long × 1,475mm wide × 1,525mm tall) with a 2,460mm wheelbase create more spacious interiors than small EVs like the Wuling Air EV. Combined with the available 4WD system, it’s an ideal choice for handling narrow streets and winter road conditions.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

BYD discloses four patents for variable flux permanent magnet synchronous motors, addressing the efficiency conflict of motors at high and low speeds in automobiles
Traditional permanent magnet synchronous motors can provide strong torque at low speeds, but on highways, the fixed rotor magnetic flux leads to increased back electromotive force, causing a sharp drop in efficiency. This long-standing contradiction in the industry has now found a new solution with the announcement of BYD's latest technology patent.
