On May 22, the GAC Central Asia Export Base Inauguration and Tajikistan ECO Travel Project Vehicle Delivery Ceremony was held in Kashgar, Xinjiang, China, where the Aion Y Plus model under Aion was exported to Tajikistan, and the first batch of 1,000 units has been delivered.
It is reported that starting from 2023, the Tajikistan government is vigorously developing the electric vehicle industry. The government actively promotes the improvement and renewal of transportation facilities, and imports 3,300 pure electric vehicles throughout the year. This large-scale delivery of the AION Y Plus has set a record for a single import of electric vehicles in Tajikistan, and has made AION the electric vehicle brand with the highest market share in the local market.
Since this year, Aion has frequently laid out the international market, and its models have been sold in many countries and regions worldwide. In February of this year, Aion’s model had a market share of 11.8% in Thailand, ranking first in the subdivided market. In early April, Aion and INDOMOBIL had completed the contract signing, officially entering the Indonesian market. On May 21, the AION Y Plus was launched in Malaysia, and Aion will station a professional team in Malaysia with the Southeast Asia headquarters as the regional hub, forming the core strength of the four major sectors of sales, brand, after-sales, and energy replenishment, quickly responding and supporting local demands, connecting with the Guangzhou headquarters in China, and forming an efficient linkage between the three places.
According to the overseas strategy planning, GAC AION will further accelerate its pace of globalization in the future, lay out seven major production and sales bases in Europe, South America, Africa, Middle East, East Asia and other countries, and realize global "research and development production and sales integration".
