On July 30, Suzuki launched a new car model, the 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door, in the Malaysian market. Compared with the Suzuki Jimny launched in 2023, the biggest change is also reflected in the name. The design of the door has two more doors, and the design launched in 2023 is a three-door version of the model, and the use experience of many people is not convenient, so the five-door version of the model launched this time can meet this part of consumers. The price of the 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is RM 199,950, which is RM 41,050 more expensive than the 2023 Suzuki Jimny.

In terms of vehicle size, the 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is 3822mm long, 1645mm wide, 1720mm high, with a wheelbase of 2590mm, and a trunk capacity of 211L. The new model increases the length by 505mm, the wheelbase by 300mm compared to the 2023 Suzuki Jimny model, and the vehicle level has also changed from the A-class of the 2023 model to the B-class.

The new 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door retains the classic Jimny square and stiff shape, and further expands the interior space by increasing the number of doors from three to five, making the model more practical in use.
At the front, the 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door retains the Jimny family's signature round headlight design, coupled with a square front grille, creating a retro and cute visual effect for consumers. It is worth mentioning that the short front overhang design not only improves the approach angle, but also enhances the vehicle's off-road passability and can adapt to more complex road sections.

For the body part, the square body shape is a classic design of the Jimny series. The family-style design not only has a high degree of recognition but also provides passengers with larger internal space. The 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door retains tough-top style while increasing the convenience of rear passengers' access, thereby enhancing the vehicle's practicality. The car also has a high ground clearance, which ensures the vehicle's passability on off-road surfaces.

At the rear, the externally mounted spare tire is a classic configuration of tough off-road vehicles, which not only enhances the wildness of the 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door but also facilitates the replacement of spare tires in case of sudden tire blowout failures. The vertical taillight design at the rear echoes the front headlights, the groove design on the rear bumper eases passenger access, and also provides a certain level of protection.

As for the power engine, the engine is 1.5 L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, with a power output of 102 PS (100 horsepower) and a torque of 130 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The K15B is matched with a four-speed torque converter automatic transmission (the three-door model does not have a five-speed manual transmission), and is equipped with a Suzuki AllGrip Pro part-time four-wheel drive system and a low-speed transfer case (2H, 4H, and 4L).
The top speed of the 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is 140km/h, which is unchanged compared to the 2023 Suzuki Jimny. In terms of explosive power, the zero-hundred acceleration time of the new model is 17.4s. The fuel consumption information of the new model is currently unclear, but as a reference, the fuel consumption of the 2023 Suzuki Jimny is 6.8L/100km.

In terms of interior, we can learn from the video released by Suzuki official that the 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door continues the square design of the exterior, and the interior layout is also very regular, with rigid lines, giving people a clear and quick visual experience. Considering the special use environment of the off-road vehicle, the interior is therefore made of a large amount of wear-resistant and dirt-resistant hard plastic material, which is convenient for cleaning and care.

In terms of safety configuration, the 2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door has more safety configurations than the 2023 Suzuki Jimny, with an additional 4 airbags. And the seat belt reminder device has changed from the front seats to all seats.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
