The previous Japanese SUV I owned had an engine as weak as a "Kampung bus". After switching to the C9 2WD, it finally feels great! The 2.0T+8AT is super agile during rush hours in Kuala Lumpur, effortlessly weaving through traffic. With 261 horsepower, the acceleration was so strong it gave my best friend in the passenger seat quite a scare. As for the exterior, the frameless grille paired with 20-inch wheels turns heads at the Pavilion mall, on par with BBA models. However, the paint job is a bit thin; last time a passing motorcycle scraped it, and the primer was exposed—1 point deducted for that. The safety features are top-notch: 8 airbags + active braking. Just last week, the system automatically stopped my car when I almost rear-ended another vehicle on the North-South Highway. The 168,000 MYR was well spent! The only downside is that the panoramic sunroof doesn’t open, making it unbearably hot in the summer, but pulling the sunshade works as a workaround. On weekends, I took my whole family to Genting Highlands; with the 2800mm wheelbase, there’s enough legroom in the back to sit cross-legged, and the car handled uphill drives without breaking a sweat, much more stable than my brother’s CR-V!

Last week, I took my parents to Cameron Highlands. On the way, it suddenly started raining heavily, and the mountain road became as slippery as if it were oiled. Just as I was about to hit the brakes to slow down, the C9's active braking warning started beeping – it turned out that the truck ahead had braked sharply, and it helped me apply the brakes in advance. The 2.0T engine was very stable climbing uphill, and the 8AT shifted gears smoothly without any jerks. However, the body tilt while cornering was more noticeable than expected, possibly due to the vehicle's height. Giving the safety features a 4 out of 5 rating seems fair, and a performance score of 4 is also reasonable, as its performance on the mountain road was sufficient for family use.

During the morning rush hour, the 2.0T power responds instantly when overtaking in tight spots, no fear at all! Three tall men can sit in the back row with room to cross their legs, and the trunk can fit two carry-on suitcases and a stroller with space to spare. The air conditioning is a bit slow in the first two minutes, but it cools down quickly afterward. Overall, very satisfied!
