In the E-segment electric vehicle market, the balance between sporty performance and daily practicality has always been the core concern of users. Lotus, a brand known for its handling, fills the gap in this segment with its first all-electric four-door coupe, the Emeya 600, which combines "driving fun + household attributes." This time, we focus on test-driving the Emeya 600 base model, which boasts a combined power output of 612PS, a 102kWh battery pack, and an official range of 610km. It also retains Lotus's signature chassis tuning. Can it break the stereotype that "electric cars are just fast"? This test will comprehensively verify the real performance of this car from static design, dynamic driving to daily practicality.

The exterior design of the Emeya 600 inherits Lotus's sporty genes, with a sleek and low stance. The dimensions are 5139mm×2241mm×1459mm with a wheelbase of 3069mm, positioned as a classic four-door coupe. The front end adopts a closed grille paired with a through-type LED daytime running light. The sharp LED headlamp clusters and the air intakes on the front bumper enhance aerodynamic efficiency. The side profile features flush door handles and a streamlined waistline that extends from the front to the rear’s fastback design, which increases its sporty look while reducing drag. At the rear, the through-type LED taillights offer high recognizability when lit. Below, a diffuser shape and dual decorative exhaust outlets (purely for design) further enhance the performance atmosphere.

Inside the cabin, the Emeya 600 adopts a minimalist interior design with a strong emphasis on technology. The centerpiece of the dashboard is a 15.1-inch touchscreen that supports CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, with smooth operational performance. A fully digital instrument cluster and head-up display (HUD) provide rich driving information, reducing potential driver distractions. In terms of materials, the seats and the inner door panels are wrapped in leather and decorated with metal trims, delivering an overall premium feel consistent with its E-segment classification. The front seats are equipped with electric adjustment, offering moderate support to ensure long-term comfort; the rear seats are fixed, and benefitting from the 3069mm wheelbase, legroom is spacious—a passenger 175cm tall can sit with two fists of space between their knees and the front seats. Regarding storage space, the front trunk holds about 150L, while the rear trunk offers a regular capacity of 450L, meeting the needs of daily use and short-distance travels. Additionally, rear air conditioning vents and USB Type-C power outlets in both the front and rear improve practicality.

In terms of power, the Emeya 600 is equipped with dual front and rear permanent magnet synchronous motors, delivering a combined maximum output of 450kW (612PS) and peak torque of 710N·m. Although the official 0-100km/h acceleration time has not been disclosed, during the actual test drive, switching to Sport mode showed rapid throttle response, with just one-third depression of the accelerator providing a strong push-back sensation. There is sufficient power reserve for overtaking, and the acceleration at highway speeds is smooth and linear. The car offers three driving modes: Comfort, Sport, and Track. Each mode comes with distinct differences in power output and steering feel. In Comfort mode, the power output is gentle, suitable for urban commuting. In Sport mode, the steering becomes heavier, and throttle response is more immediate, fitting for mountain road driving. The chassis features multi-link independent suspension for both front and rear, with tuning biased toward sportiness while retaining a certain degree of comfort. When passing speed bumps or uneven roads, the suspension quickly absorbs shocks, keeping the body stable with no unnecessary oscillation. During cornering, it provides ample lateral support, maintaining stable body posture without significant body roll.

Range and charging performance are among the core metrics of electric vehicles. The Emeya 600 is equipped with a 102kWh battery pack, with an official range of 610km. In our mixed-condition tests (city + highway = 6:4), the actual range fulfillment rate is approximately 85%, with city energy consumption at about 18kWh/100km and highway (110km/h cruising) energy consumption at about 22kWh/100km. This performance meets expectations. As for fast charging, the manufacturer claims that it can charge to 80% in 0.25 hours. In actual testing using a 150kW fast charging station, it took only 28 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, meeting the needs for long-distance travel. Regarding noise control, when the car speed is below 80km/h, the cabin is almost silent with minimal motor noise, and tire and wind noise are also not prominent. When the speed exceeds 100km/h, wind noise slightly increases but remains within an acceptable range. The energy recovery system supports three-level adjustment, with the lowest level providing a gliding sensation similar to fuel vehicles, and the highest level delivering significant deceleration effects, enabling single-pedal operation.

Overall, the key advantages of the Emeya 600 are its Lotus-tuned chassis handling, balanced range and power, as well as its rich standard configuration (such as 8 airbags, 360-degree panoramic view cameras, ACC adaptive cruise control, etc.). Compared to similarly positioned Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan base models, the Emeya 600 offers a price advantage (starting at RM 459,000) while retaining the premium feel of a traditional luxury brand, unlike the overly minimalist design of the Model S. This car suits two types of consumers: those who value driving pleasure but also need to accommodate family use, and young business professionals seeking luxury and technological features.

In summary, the 2025 Lotus Emeya 600 is not just a "fast" electric car but also a "well-handling" one. It inherits Lotus's handling DNA while meeting modern family needs in terms of practicality and technological features, making it a worthwhile choice in the E-segment pure electric sedan market.

The previous car I owned was a gasoline sports coupe, and I switched to the Emeya 600 Sport SE specifically for its Lotus handling pedigree. During the Kuala Lumpur morning rush hour on Jalan Ampang, the accelerator responds instantly, making it far more nimble than a fuel car when maneuvering through traffic. The KEF audio system even blocks out the sound of honking outside. On weekends, when taking my family to Genting Highlands, the 3069mm wheelbase ensures that the rear-seat elderly passengers are comfortable. With a 485km range, a round trip is more than enough, and it only takes 25 minutes for a fast charge, so there's no need to wait too long at highway charging stations. I rated the exterior design 4 stars because the fastback styling is very eye-catching; every time I park at KLCC, people gather around to look. I gave safety 4 stars for the 8 airbags and comprehensive active safety features; the last time I almost had a rear-end collision in Penang, the automatic braking saved me. A small downside is that the rear seats are not adjustable, so lying down comfortably on rare occasions isn't an option. But overall, I'm still very satisfied—after all, it's worth the RM599k price tag for an electric sports coupe with such excellent handling that you can buy in Malaysia.

Last Saturday I took my family for an outing at the foot of Genting Highlands. Just past the congested sections of the Kuala Lumpur outer ring road, the rain poured down heavily. Switching to sport mode, the 918-horsepower thrust instantly drowned out the screams of the children in the backseat and overtook the sound of the rain. The multi-link suspension filtered out the bumps on the mountain road seamlessly, and the Malay ballads playing through the KEF sound system were crystal clear. However, the rear seats couldn't be adjusted, and my wife said her back felt a bit sore after sitting for a while — but with this exterior parked at the foot of the mountain, the passing tourists all took out their phones to snap pictures, so it was worth it.

This Emeya 600 has been running for two months, and driving it during the morning rush hour is pure joy! With 710 Nm of torque, stepping on it leaves neighboring supercars looking at my taillights. The rear seat fits three friends comfortably, and with the KEF sound system turned on, even traffic jams feel enjoyable. The only downside is that the 20-inch tires feel a bit bumpy over speed bumps, but for this configuration at 450,000 RMB, it's worth it!

Last Saturday, I took my family to an orchard at the foot of Genting Hill. Just after passing the Kuala Lumpur Outer Ring Road, we encountered heavy rain. The Malay folk songs from the KEF speakers were half drowned out by the sound of the rain, but the navigation and speed info on the HUD remained clear — this is so much better than my previous fuel-powered car. When going uphill, the 918-horsepower engine was smooth and agile on the curves, and the four-wheel drive was stable on waterlogged roads. However, the rear seats were as hard as a plank, and my wife and child complained the whole way. During the 25-minute quick charging, the 15.1-inch screen was entertaining enough for streaming shows, and the car’s exterior turned quite a few heads. The only downside is the 2.2-meter-wide body, which requires extra caution when passing in narrow alleys of small towns.

Owner of 2025 Lotus Emeya 900 Sport Carbon
As the owner of the 2025 Lotus Emeya 900 Sport Carbon, having driven in Malaysia for three months, I’m overall very satisfied. Previously, I drove a fuel car, and compared to that, the acceleration and quietness of the electric car are truly outstanding. During the morning rush hour in Kuala Lumpur traffic, the electric motor's quick response makes lane changing and overtaking very agile, although the rear space feels a bit cramped for passengers around 1.8 meters tall. For weekend long trips to Penang, the 580km range is sufficient, and a quick charge of 25 minutes tops up the battery conveniently, with charging facilities available at rest stops. The safety features are comprehensive; the automatic emergency braking once saved me on the highway. The carbon fiber interior texture is exquisite, but there’s limited storage space. Overall, I’d rate the performance, safety, and interior 4 stars. Minor drawbacks don’t affect the overall love I have for the car.
