In 2023, UMW Toyota Motor launched the upgraded Toyota Hilux GR Sport, attracting consumers with stronger performance and unique configuration. Power System
The new Hilux GR Sport is equipped with a 1GD-FTV 2.8-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, with the output power increased to 224 PS and 550 Nm of torque. This is an increase of 20 PS and 50 Nm compared to the previous version, which make it surpass competitors such as the Ford Ranger Wildtrak (210 PS, 500 Nm) in terms of power.

This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and is equipped with a four-wheel drive system, a limited-slip differential (LSD) and a rear differential lock. The Active Traction Control (A-TRC) system is also retained, allowing the vehicle to maintain excellent traction and stability in a variety of road conditions. In addition, the new model is equipped with a sport-tuned monotube shock absorber suspension system that further enhances driving confidence and comfort.
Exterior Design
The 2023 Hilux GR Sport adopts unique sporty design elements in its exterior design. The front face is more aggressive, and the iconic TOYOTA logo and GR Sport emblem make it stand out. The side of the car uses black rearview mirrors and 18-inch unique wheels, paired with high-performance road tires and red brake calipers, making the overall appearance more sporty.

Interior Design
The interior of the Hilux GR Sport has also been upgraded, with red stitching and GR emblems creating a strong sporty atmosphere. The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel is equipped with shift paddles, which is the first time this configuration has been introduced in the Hilux. The new Optitron dashboard design and GR welcome animation also add a lot to the interior.

The front sport seats are wrapped in high-grade velvet leather, and the car provides an eight-way power adjustment feature to ensure comfort for the driver and passengers. Other interior highlights include:
