[PCauto] After extensive preparation, Toyota Land Cruiser FJ has finally made its debut at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show and the price was announced, 1,269,000 THB/152,000 MYR.
Promotional Price Ends in September
The price announced at the auto show is extremely competitive. The special limited-time promotional price of approximately 1,269,000 THB (approximately 152,000 MYR) offered by Toyota Thailand will last until August 31, 2026, after which the official price will rise back to 1,289,000 THB (approximately 153,000 MYR).
More notably, the Land Cruiser FJ is the first Land Cruiser model to be mass-produced outside of Japan.
The new car is assembled and manufactured at the Ban Pho plant in Chachoengsao Province, Thailand, with a local content ratio of 84%. In the future, this vehicle will be exported from Thailand to 27 countries, including Japan.

Classic Design Emphasizing Durability and Reliability
In terms of exterior design, the Land Cruiser FJ perfectly captures the design essence of "Freedom & Joy."
It does not blindly follow the current trend of urban luxury design, but instead uses a lot of square lines, classic round LED headlights, and the iconic letter grille to pay tribute to its predecessor, the FJ40.

The body proportions are very compact, with a total length of 4,610 mm and a height of 1,890 mm.
To reduce repair costs during off-road driving, the front and rear bumpers of the Land Cruiser FJ adopt a modular split design. In the event of minor collisions, owners can replace only the damaged parts instead of the entire assembly.
This functionality-first logic also extends to the interior.
The interior features a horizontally laid-out dashboard for better off-road visibility. Physical buttons dominate the interface, and although it is equipped with a 12.3-inch central touchscreen and supports wireless Apple CarPlay, the overall atmosphere still emphasizes durability and ease of operation.

Built on the IMV 0 Platform
Although the Land Cruiser FJ shares the improved IMV 0 ladder-frame platform with the budget-friendly Hilux Champ, Toyota has not been stingy with its core off-road configurations.
It is equipped with a naturally aspirated 2.7 L gasoline engine with the code 2TR-FE, delivering a maximum output of 166 PS and 245 Nm torque.
While the parameters may not seem impressive, its advantages lie in its simple structure, extreme durability, and versatility with fuel quality, making it perfectly suited to its positioning as a global adventure vehicle.

For the chassis, the Land Cruiser FJ adopts a short wheelbase design (2,580 mm), which is 270 mm shorter than its bigger sibling, the Land Cruiser 250.
This means it boasts superior agility on narrow forest trails, with a turning radius of just 5.5 m, even better than many urban SUVs.
Paired with a part-time 4WD system and a standard rear differential lock, its off-road recovery capability on rough terrain will easily outshine those unibody "poseurs".
With a ground clearance of 245 mm and a wading depth of 700 mm, it is well-equipped to handle most extreme climate conditions.

Toyota officially offers four modification schemes
To showcase the playability of this model, Toyota simultaneously exhibited four modified vehicles of different styles at the auto show, ranging from the urban refined style Urban Unique to the heavily off-road Heritage style.

Whether you’re a refined player planning a weekend camping trip or a serious off-road enthusiast heading into uninhabited areas, this car offers abundant interfaces and official accessory support.
This high degree of customization makes the Land Cruiser FJ not just a mere commuting tool.
In the current Thai market, its pricing is positioned in the gap between the five-door version of the Suzuki Jimny and the GWM Tank 300.
Compared to the Jimny, it offers more space and greater loading capacity (with trunk capacity expandable to 1,522 liters); compared to the Tank 300, it has a more pure mechanical structure and is backed by Toyota’s unparalleled reliability halo.

In an era dominated by excessive electronic controls and sensors, the market still craves a pure off-roader that’s simple, tough, reasonably priced, and full of character. The Land Cruiser FJ not only fills the entry-level gap in the Land Cruiser family but also successfully brings this legendary name within the budget range of more young consumers.
