In recent years, the competition in Malaysia's D-segment sedan market has been heating up. Consumers pursue the texture of luxury brands while emphasizing practicality and smooth driving experience. As one of the core volume models of the Audi brand, the A4 series has always been a popular choice in this segment. In this evaluation, we focus on the 2019 Audi A4 Sport 2.0 TFSI quattro (Note: According to user-provided data, the 2020 A4 is marked as unavailable for sale in the public domain, so the 2019 Sport model on sale is taken as the core evaluation object). It is equipped with a high-power 2.0T engine with 249 PS and a quattro all-wheel-drive system, as well as standard features such as the Bang & Olufsen sound system and fully digital instrument cluster. Do these highlights allow it to stand out among competitors in its class? We will comprehensively analyze the car's real performance through static experiences and dynamic test drives.

From the exterior, the 2019 A4 Sport maintains Audi’s signature simple design language. The front face features a polygonal grille paired with a honeycomb mesh, complemented by angular LED headlights on both sides, which together offer a highly recognizable profile. The side of the car showcases smooth lines, with a length of 4762mm and a wheelbase of 2820mm, positioning it at the mainstream level within the D-segment. The 18-inch multi-spoke wheels paired with 245/40 R18 tires further enhance the sporty appeal. At the rear, the LED taillights adopt a smoked treatment that mirrors the design of the front, and the dual exhaust outlets on either side subtly highlight its performance potential. In terms of lighting systems, the entire series comes equipped with LED headlights, daytime running lights, and automatic headlight functions, offering clear and uniform illumination at night.

Stepping inside, the interior continues Audi's consistent focus on exquisite craftsmanship. The dashboard is wrapped in soft-touch materials complemented by metallic trim, delivering a tactile and visually appealing experience that aligns with the brand’s luxury positioning. The central control area is equipped with an 8.3-inch touchscreen. Although its size is not particularly large, it offers smooth operation and responsive feedback. Physical buttons below the screen are retained for convenient blind operation. The fully digital instrument cluster is a highlight, capable of displaying regular speed and RPM information and switching to navigation mode, projecting the navigation map onto the center of the instrument cluster for enhanced driving convenience. In terms of configuration, the front seats support electric adjustment with memory functions, while the rear seats can be folded in a 40:20:40 split, allowing flexible expansion of storage space. Practical configurations such as dual-zone automatic air conditioning, rear independent air conditioning vents, and a 220V power outlet are all included. Regarding space performance, the front row offers ample seating space, with a 175cm tall individual still having a fist’s worth of headroom after adjusting the seat. In the rear, legroom reaches two fists, and headroom provides one fist, making long-distance rides comfortable and spacious. The trunk offers 460 liters of storage capacity, sufficient for everyday needs such as luggage or strollers.

In terms of power, the A4 Sport is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine that delivers a maximum power of 249 PS and a maximum torque output maintained between 1600-4500 rpm. It is paired with a 7-speed DCT transmission and a quattro all-wheel-drive system. The official 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 5.8 seconds. During actual test drives, the power response at start-up is rapid, providing a distinct push-back sensation upon hard acceleration. Mid to high-range acceleration remains robust, making overtaking effortless without the need for deliberate downshifting. The transmission's shifting logic is clear, and its smoothness is excellent, even during frequent gear changes in heavy traffic. There are three driving modes to choose from: Comfort, Auto, and Dynamic. When switched to Dynamic mode, throttle responsiveness and steering feel are adjusted accordingly to better meet the demands of sporty driving.

In terms of handling and chassis performance, the front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension are tuned for sportiness while balancing comfort. During daily driving on urban asphalt roads, the suspension effectively filters out minor bumps; when passing speed bumps or uneven roads, the body vibration is controlled within a reasonable range, avoiding a jarring impact. The steering feel is precise with minimal play, and body roll is well-controlled when cornering. Coupled with the quattro all-wheel-drive system, excellent traction is maintained even on wet roads during rainy days. As for fuel consumption, the official combined figure is 7.1L/100km. During actual test drives, the city fuel consumption is about 8.5L/100km, while on highways, it is approximately 6.8L/100km. For a 2.0T all-wheel-drive model, this fuel consumption is within an acceptable range.

In terms of ride comfort details, the vehicle's noise control is well executed. At high speeds, wind and tire noise are not pronounced, and only during rapid acceleration does the engine noise enter the cabin, but it is not harsh. The seat padding is soft and sufficiently supportive, ensuring that long drives do not cause back fatigue. Additionally, the 360-degree panoramic imaging system greatly enhances parking convenience, making it easy for even novice drivers to handle tight parking spaces.

Overall, the 2019 Audi A4 Sport 2.0 TFSI quattro's core strengths lie in its dynamic performance, all-wheel-drive system, rich features, and excellent handling. Compared to competitors in the same class, such as the BMW 3 Series or Mercedes-Benz C-Class, it offers more competitive performance parameters and standard equipment. Features such as a fully digital instrument cluster and Bang & Olufsen sound system are rare in cars of the same price range. This car is suitable for families emphasizing driving quality and luxurious configurations, as well as meeting the demands of young consumers for power and handling. Whether for daily commuting, family outings, or short weekend getaways, it can handle it all with ease.

In summary, the 2019 Audi A4 Sport is a well-balanced D-segment luxury sedan. It offers the quality of a luxury brand, excellent performance, and handling, along with rich features that enhance everyday convenience. If you are looking for a luxury car that balances family use with driving pleasure, the A4 Sport is worth considering.

This 2013 A4 Public has been with me for three years. It's quick and responsive when starting in city traffic jams, and there's still a sense of pushback when pressing the accelerator deeply for highway overtaking. The leather seats do get hot after being exposed to the summer sun, but they cool down within ten minutes of air conditioning. Even with three friends in the back row, it doesn't feel crowded, and the interior still feels very comfortable and high-quality.

Previously driving Japanese cars always felt lacking "power", but after switching to the 2016 A4 public, I finally found the right vibe—the performance deserves a 5-star rating, and that's no exaggeration! During the sardine-can traffic jams of Malaysia's early morning rush hour, stepping on the accelerator gets a super quick response. Weaving through traffic is far more agile compared to my previous car, and the engine roar even has a touch of excitement. On weekends, when taking the family to Genting Highlands, the turbo engagement is so smooth when climbing hills, and overtaking feels confident. The interior deserves a fair 4-star rating. The leather seats feel comfortable to the touch, but the physical buttons on the center console get a bit sticky after prolonged use (perhaps due to the tropical climate). However, the overall sense of quality leaves Japanese cars of the same class far behind. Friends who sit inside always compliment it as "premium." The only minor downside is that the rear space feels a bit cramped for someone like me at 180cm, but since it’s just me and my wife most of the time, it’s enough. In conclusion, driving it in Malaysia gives both face and substance—totally worth it!

Last Saturday, I drove my family to the orchard at the foot of Yunding Mountain. Just as we entered the winding mountain road, a sudden downpour made the road as slippery as if it had been oiled. The 2.0T engine provided power as soon as I stepped on the accelerator, and the quattro all-wheel-drive firmly gripped the road during turns, so steady that even the napping child in the backseat wasn’t disturbed—this performance definitely deserves a full 5 points. When parked at the orchard entrance, the silver-gray body glistened after being washed by the rain, catching the attention of passersby. The appearance is truly outstanding. However, the old car lacks some active safety features; having an automatic braking system would feel more reassuring, so deducting 1 point for safety is fair.

The interior texture of the old A4 is amazing! The suede seats feel like petting a cat, and the wood grain trim doesn’t feel cheap. The more I look at it, the more I love it.

Last Saturday, I took my wife and kids to Genting Highlands. It suddenly started pouring rain halfway up the hill. The road was slippery and there was traffic. The 2.0T engine delivered power instantly during uphill climbs, and the quattro all-wheel drive gripped steadily, with no drifting on turns. The B&O sound system played children's songs, and the kids in the back didn't fuss. However, there is a bit too much plastic in the interior, and the central control screen occasionally lags. Full marks for safety features, and the 360-degree camera was clear even in rainy and foggy conditions while reversing. No complaints about the exterior design — after driving it for half a year, there’s still no aesthetic fatigue.
