In the executive sedan market of Malaysia, the German Big Three have always occupied a central position. Consumers value both the brand heritage and have high expectations for power, configuration, and comfort. The 2019 Audi A6 3.0 TFSI Quattro, as one of the representative models in this class, has become a consideration for many mid-to-high-end users with its 340PS turbocharged engine, quattro all-wheel-drive system, and extensive intelligent features. This time, through a real vehicle test drive, we focus on verifying whether its performance matches the executive-level positioning and whether its daily practicality and comfort meet expectations.

Getting closer to the car, the exterior of the 2019 A6 maintains Audi's family-style stable design while incorporating sharper details. The hexagonal front grille is of moderate size and is paired with horizontal chrome strips, appearing both grand and restrained; the slim design of the LED headlights on both sides, with segmented daytime running lights inside, gives it high recognizability when illuminated. The side profile features smooth lines, with a waistline extending from the front to the rear and blending through the door handles. The 20-inch multi-spoke wheels make the 4939mm length of the car appear even sleeker. At the rear, the LED tail lights adopt a through-type design, echoing the headlight clusters, while the dual exhaust layout subtly hints at its powerful performance. Overall, the design of this car strikes a balance between the solemnity required for business occasions and the style needed for daily use.

Stepping into the interior, the sense of technology and luxury is quite prominent. The dashboard adopts a layered design, with an 8.6-inch touchscreen on top handling multimedia and navigation controls, and a hidden touch panel below for adjusting air conditioning and vehicle settings, with a clear operating logic. The interior materials are mainly soft-touch plastics and leather. The steering wheel and seats are wrapped in genuine leather, offering a delicate feel. A standard Head-Up Display (HUD) projects information such as speed and navigation data onto the windshield, enhancing driving convenience. In terms of seating configuration, the driver’s seat comes with power adjustments and memory functions, while the front passenger seat also features power adjustments. The rear seats support a 60:40 split-folding, providing good support during long journeys. In terms of space performance, a 2924mm wheelbase ensures sufficient legroom in the rear; passengers with a height of 175cm sitting in the rear have about two fists' distance between their knees and the front seats. The trunk capacity is 530 liters, which can easily accommodate several suitcases or a baby stroller, meeting the needs of family or business travel.

When starting the vehicle, the power output of the 3.0T V6 turbocharged engine is very direct. This engine delivers a maximum power of 340PS, with a peak torque range of 1370-4500rpm, and when paired with the 7-speed DCT transmission, a light press of the accelerator provides an obvious sense of thrust. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 5.1 seconds. In real-world testing, even with a full load, pressing the accelerator hard during overtaking can still accomplish the task quickly. There are three driving modes to choose from: Comfort, Auto, and Dynamic. Switching to Dynamic mode makes the transmission shift logic more aggressive, and the throttle response more sensitive, suitable for driving on highways or open roads; in Comfort mode, the power output becomes smoother, making it more suitable for urban commuting.

In terms of handling, the addition of the quattro all-wheel-drive system ensures excellent stability when cornering. The steering is precise with minimal play, light at low speeds, and stable at high speeds, making it very easy to handle. The suspension system adopts a multi-link design for both the front and rear, with tuning biased towards comfort. When encountering speed bumps or bumpy urban roads, it can filter out most minor vibrations, ensuring rear passengers don’t feel noticeable bumps. However, during fast cornering, the suspension provides enough support, and the body lean is not significant. Regarding fuel consumption, the official combined fuel consumption is 7.2L/100km, with actual urban driving approximately 8.5L/100km and highway cruising dropping to 6.8L/100km. For a 3.0T model, this level of fuel consumption is above average among competitors in its class.

As for ride comfort, the noise insulation is commendable. When driving at high speeds, wind and tire noise are well-controlled, and there’s no need to raise your voice during conversations inside the car. The engine noise is barely noticeable at low speeds and becomes slightly audible at high revs, but it’s not harsh. The seats offer excellent wrapping and support, ensuring no fatigue even during long drives. The rear air conditioning vents and 220V power outlet further enhance the comfort for rear passengers.

Overall, the 2019 Audi A6 3.0 TFSI Quattro’s core strengths lie in its balanced performance: strong power with manageable fuel consumption, luxurious interior with rich features, and ample space coupled with great comfort. Compared to competitors like the BMW 5 Series or Mercedes-Benz E-Class, its all-wheel-drive system and standard features such as HUD and rear air conditioning vents offer certain advantages in terms of value for money. This car suits two types of customers: those who need to balance business use and family needs at a mid-to-high end, and young consumers who pursue performance and technological features. If you are looking for a reliable brand, powerful engine, and well-rounded executive sedan, the 2019 Audi A6 3.0 TFSI Quattro is a great choice.

Last week, I took my family to Genting Highlands for an outing. On the way down, we encountered sudden heavy rain, and the road surface was as slippery as if it had been smeared with oil. The 3.0T engine power was very stable during climbs, and the Quattro all-wheel-drive system kept the car body firmly on the ground without any skidding. However, the lane departure warning occasionally misjudges, so I'll give it 4 stars. The exterior design is understated and pleasant to look at, and the LED headlights have strong penetration in rain and fog. However, the car paint is a bit thin, and minor scratches are easily noticeable, so I'll also give it 4 stars. In terms of performance, the acceleration is indeed fast, but the fuel consumption in city traffic is much higher than the official figure. Overall, it's still 4 stars.

Driving on the highway in heavy rain, with the steering wheel feeling as steady as if welded to my hands, the sense of security is maxed out!

Last week, I took my family to Genting Highlands. While climbing uphill in heavy rain, the Quattro four-wheel drive felt as steady as if it was glued to the road. The active braking system suddenly issued a warning—there was a sudden brake from the motorcycle ahead. The car braked on its own, which gave me a fright but held steady. In terms of safety, I’d give it a full 5 points without hesitation. The 3.0T turbo engages quickly, making overtaking smooth and efficient. However, after climbing uphill, the fuel consumption spiked to 11L, which is much higher than the official 7.2, so I’m deducting 1 point for performance. The rear seat air conditioning works great, and my child slept soundly. However, the dual screens in the center console sometimes reflect light, and the interior details feel a bit lacking, so I’ll deduct another point.

Last week I took my family to Cameron Highlands, and the heavy rain made the mountain road slippery. The 3.0T Quattro inspires confidence on corners, and the 5.1-second acceleration delivers a strong push-back feeling when overtaking. However, the DCT occasionally has a slight jerk at low speed in traffic. The 16-speaker interior and dual-zone air conditioning made the elderly in the back seat very comfortable. The HUD head-up display eliminates the need to look down at the navigation, and the touchscreen responds quickly. However, the fuel consumption is slightly higher than the official 7.2L/100km, reaching over 8L/100km during hill climbs. Overall, I'm still very satisfied.

Took my family to Genting Highlands for an outing last week. Just after passing the congested sections of Kuala Lumpur and turning onto the mountain road, it suddenly started pouring rain. The 3.0T turbo engagement is very smooth, and it can unleash maximum torque at just 1370 rpm, making overtaking effortless. However, during rapid acceleration, the dual-clutch occasionally has slight jerks, so deducting 1 point from performance is justified. The 16-speaker interior sound system was phenomenal with the windows closed on a rainy day, the touch screen responded quickly, and the HUD made mountain road driving easier without having to look down at the dashboard. Despite the wet and slippery mountain roads in the downpour, the Quattro all-wheel drive was incredibly stable, and the active braking system provided early warnings when the car ahead slowed down on curves, earning safety features a solid 5 points. The exterior design is low-key and businesslike, lacking a bit of sportiness, so 4 points seem reasonable.
