The supercar market is experiencing a wave of electrification. Many brands are trying to find a balance between performance and environmental friendliness. However, there are very few models that truly integrate the PHEV system with the traditional V8 roar to perfection. The 2025 Lamborghini Temerario, as the latest plug-in hybrid supercar of the family, combines a 4.0T V8 engine with a three-motor system to deliver a combined output of 920PS. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time is just 2.7 seconds, a specification sure to get performance enthusiasts’ hearts racing. This time, we got our hands on the actual car, and the main purpose was to see whether, besides its impressive specs on paper, it could also balance daily usability, seamless hybrid system performance, and Lamborghini's iconic driving excitement.

Temerario's exterior continues the brand's signature sharp lines, with a low and wide stance that visually strikes an aggressive figure with its 4706mm length and 2246mm width. The front face features newly designed Y-shaped LED daytime running lights paired with a large honeycomb grille, maximizing its recognizability. The hood has raised lines extending from the A-pillar to the front bumper, enhancing its muscular appearance. On the side of the car, the waistline runs from the front fender to the taillight, while the 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels (front tires: 255/35 ZR20, rear tires: 325/35 ZR21) further accentuate the rear-wheel-drive proportions. The rear design is relatively simple, with the signature diffuser paired with a quad exhaust layout. The taillights also adopt a Y-shaped design, echoing the front face when lit. The overall style retains Lamborghini's sporty DNA while incorporating refreshing design details.

Inside the cockpit, the interior of the Temerario is dominated by black, with extensive use of Alcantara material and carbon fiber panels, directly conveying its sports car positioning. The center console is well-organized, featuring an 8.4-inch vertical touch screen that operates smoothly with a simple interface that is easy to use. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard. The 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel provides comprehensive information and allows toggling between different driving mode themes, including electric mode, hybrid mode, and performance mode. The steering wheel has a flat-bottom design, is moderately sized, and offers a solid grip. The multifunctional button layout is intuitive, and the shift paddles are made of metal, providing a precise tactile feedback. The seats are sporty bucket seats with electric adjustment and excellent support, especially in the waist and leg areas, ensuring comfort even during long drives. However, as a two-seater sports car, storage space is limited. The central armrest compartment can only fit a phone and a wallet, while the door storage slots can only hold small water bottles, making it necessary to adapt to daily usage.

In terms of space, as a two-seater sports car, the Temerario’s seating space is entirely designed for the driver and front passenger. The 2658mm wheelbase ensures sufficient legroom for the occupants in the front seats. Although the car's height is only 1201mm, headroom is sufficient for passengers under 180cm tall and does not feel overly cramped. In terms of features, the front seats are equipped with automatic air conditioning, and the air outlets are small and well-designed. The clear HUD (Head-Up Display) shows key information such as speed and navigation, avoiding distractions while driving.

The powertrain is the core highlight of the Temerario. The 4.0T V8 twin-turbocharged engine delivers a maximum horsepower of 800PS, while the three-motor system (one in the front and two at the rear) has a total power output of 220kW, bringing the combined system horsepower to 920PS and a peak torque of 730N·m. During actual driving, under hybrid mode, the vehicle starts off powered by the electric motors, providing a swift and quiet response. A light press on the accelerator pedal already delivers decent acceleration. When pressing the pedal deeper, the V8 engine kicks in immediately without noticeable jerks. As the revs climb above 4000rpm, the exhaust note becomes richer, and power output continues up to the 9000rpm redline, providing confidence during overtaking. When switching to performance mode (Corsa), the engine remains in a ready state, and throttle response becomes more aggressive. The 0-100 km/h acceleration, as measured in reality, is close to the official figure of 2.7 seconds, delivering an intense thrust. In pure electric mode, the range is only 3.5km, mainly suitable for short-distance maneuvers or low-speed driving. The 3.8kWh battery can be fully charged in just 0.5 hours, though its practicality is limited. However, as a PHEV model, the advantage of acquiring a green license plate is still beneficial in certain regions.

The handling maintains Lamborghini's high standards, with a double-wishbone independent suspension setup tuned on the stiffer side, providing clear road feedback. The steering wheel offers precise control with minimal dead zones, and the car's body roll is well-managed during cornering. The tires offer strong grip, maintaining stability even during aggressive driving. The chassis doesn't soften out bumps and uneven road surfaces much, transmitting vibrations directly into the cabin when driving over speed bumps or rough roads. However, for a performance car, this setup is to be expected. The braking system uses carbon-ceramic ventilated discs, providing abundant braking force with linear pedal feedback and no noticeable thermal attenuation during continuous braking.

When it comes to daily driving, the Temerario’s comfort surprisingly exceeds expectations. NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) performance is well-controlled. In pure electric mode, there's almost no noise, and in hybrid mode, the engine remains quiet at low and medium revs, with the exhaust note becoming audible only at higher rev ranges. The seats provide strong support without being excessively firm, making long drives bearable. The energy recovery system offers three adjustable levels, with the highest level having a mild drag effect that doesn't compromise the smoothness of daily driving. In terms of fuel consumption, as a performance PHEV, the average fuel use is around 10-12L/100km under mixed conditions, which is considerably more economical compared to pure combustion-engine supercars. However, frequent utilization of performance mode can cause fuel consumption to surge to over 15L.

In conclusion, the core advantages of the Temerario are quite evident: the combined 920PS horsepower delivers extreme performance, and the addition of the hybrid system makes daily driving quieter and smoother while retaining the thrilling exhaust note of the V8 engine. The exterior and interior design carry forward the brand’s sporty genes, and the configuration is relatively comprehensive, including safety features like ACC adaptive cruise control, 360-degree surround view camera, and lane change assist. Compared to competitors in the same segment, such as the Ferrari 296 GTB (hybrid system with a combined 830PS), the Temerario offers higher horsepower at a relatively lower price (1.35 million Malaysian Ringgit), making it stand out with better value for money. However, its short pure electric range and limited storage space are evident drawbacks, making it a suitable choice for consumers seeking extreme performance with occasional everyday usability.

If you are a loyal fan of Lamborghini and want a car that combines track passion with everyday driving, the Temerario would be a great choice; or if you are a performance car enthusiast with a budget of 1.5 million ringgit and are looking for a nearly 1000-horsepower hybrid supercar, it will also meet your needs. Overall, the Temerario is a "versatile" hybrid supercar that can unleash passion on the track while also serving as a quiet daily driver in the city. It is a successful attempt by Lamborghini to transition into electrification.

In the morning traffic jam, the pure electric mode is so quiet that it feels like the engine isn't even started. Once the light turns green, the hybrid system kicks in with a powerful thrust, overtaking cars without waiting for a chance. The interior feels premium no matter where you touch, but with the low car body, you have to be extra careful over speed bumps; otherwise, you'll feel sorry for the chassis for a long time.

This "wild bull" is stunningly cool! As soon as the green light turns on, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds literally pushes me into the seat, making overtaking effortless. However, its pure electric range of 3.5 kilometers is barely reassuring, and the wide body means I often need three extra turns to park. But for this appearance and performance, it's totally worth it!

Never afraid of overtaking during the morning rush hour, 0-100 km/h in 2.7 seconds is no bragging! But the pure electric range is just too short, and when stuck in traffic with the air conditioning on, it has to keep burning fuel. The Sonus Faber sound system can't drown out the tire noise on the highway, but this engine roar makes it all worth it!

During the morning rush hour, switch to pure electric mode to smoothly pass through congested sections. When the light turns green, the hybrid mode bursts instantly, making overtaking effortless. Sonus Faber audio system overwhelms the engine roar, but the pure electric range is too short—it runs out after just 3.5 kilometers, barely out of the neighborhood, which is quite a pity.

During the rush hour rain in Kuala Lumpur, Temerario's PHEV system crawls purely on electric power through the congested sections, with a 3.5km range just enough to get past the slow-moving traffic on Jalan Ampang. When the green light turns on, the explosive power of the 4.0T V8 + three electric motors with 920PS propels the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, leaving only taillights for the nearby cars. However, the wet asphalt in the rain occasionally causes the 255/35 front tires to slip, but the electronic stability system intervenes promptly. The Sonus Faber audio system delivers crystal-clear sound quality in the tunnel, and the carbon fiber seats provide excellent support. Still, with a height of 1201mm, the car displays more body roll than expected on the winding mountain roads of Genting Highlands. Priced at 1.35 million MYR, the lack of storage space is a drawback, but the head-turning appeal and driving pleasure make it worth the price.
