In the supercar market, naturally aspirated engine models are gradually decreasing, yet the 2019 Lamborghini Huracán EVO, with its 5.2-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine and 2.9-second 0-100km/h performance, remains one of the benchmarks still available in this segment. This time, we primarily tested its coupe version to evaluate the car's overall performance both in daily driving and light track scenarios, to see whether it can meet the passion needs of driving enthusiasts while also balancing basic practicality.

The first impression of the 2019 Huracán EVO is that its design continues Lamborghini's iconic sharp styling. The front face adopts a wider air intake grille, paired with angular air ducts on both sides, not only improving aerodynamic efficiency but also making the front end more aggressive. The lines on the side of the car are smooth and compact, while the 20-inch wheels paired with 245/30 front tires and 305/30 rear tires further enhance its sporty stance. The most noticeable changes are at the rear, with through-type LED taillights complementing the diffuser design, and the center-mounted triple exhaust layout constantly reminding you that this is a performance machine. As for the lighting system, the combination of automatic headlights and LED light sources ensures nighttime driving visibility and safety.

Opening the door and stepping inside, the interior is finished with a large amount of Alcantara material and carbon fiber trims, balancing sportiness and premium texture in its tactile feel. The center console has a simple layout, with a 12.3-inch touchscreen integrating most functions; its user interface is intuitive and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. On the left side of the multifunctional steering wheel is the driving mode selector, which includes three modes: Strada, Sport, and Corsa, allowing drivers to switch quickly. The seats feature a sporty bucket design with strong support, and they are electrically adjustable to accommodate drivers of different body sizes. In terms of space, as a two-door, two-seater sports car, the front headroom and legroom are sufficient for passengers under 180 cm tall, but there are no rear seats, and only a small amount of personal items can be placed there. Regarding storage, the front trunk has a capacity of approximately 150 liters, which can fit a carry-on suitcase and is adequate for short trips.

The moment the engine is started, the roar of the 5.2-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine is enough to draw the attention of everyone around. As for power specifications, this engine delivers a maximum horsepower of 640PS with a peak torque output at 6500rpm, paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system. In Strada mode, power delivery is relatively smooth, which is suitable for everyday driving; switching to Sport mode accelerates gear shifts, making throttle response sharper, and the sense of thrust during acceleration significantly increases. In actual tests, the 0-100km/h acceleration time indeed matches the official claim of 2.9 seconds, and mid-range acceleration is equally swift, with the 100-200km/h overtaking process completed almost instantaneously.

In terms of handling, the Huracán EVO’s double-wishbone independent suspension is tuned on the stiffer side, but its performance in corners is exceptionally stable. The steering wheel offers precise handling with minimal play, providing clear road surface feedback. When handling bumpy roads, the suspension absorbs most small vibrations, although there is a noticeable jolt when passing over speed bumps, which is a common trait for performance sports cars. Regarding fuel consumption, normal city driving results in a fuel efficiency of around 18-20L/100km, while highway driving reduces this to about 12L/100km, aligning with expectations for a large-displacement supercar. The braking system features ventilated disc brakes, with the brake pedal providing linear feedback. During emergency braking, the car's stability remains solid, and its braking distance is short.

In terms of ride comfort, the performance of the Huracán EVO exceeded expectations. In Strada mode, the cabin noise control is quite good. Although tire and wind noise are noticeable at high speeds, they do not affect normal conversations. The support and wrapping of the seats ensure that even during long drives, one does not feel fatigued. It should be noted that this fuel-powered car does not have an energy recovery system, but the engine start-stop technology effectively reduces fuel consumption in congested traffic.

Overall, the core advantages of the 2019 Lamborghini Huracán EVO lie in the pure driving experience provided by its naturally-aspirated V10 engine, the sharp design language, and the stability and control brought by the all-wheel drive system. Compared to competitors in the same class, it slightly outperforms some turbocharged-engine models in terms of throttle response and driving pleasure, while retaining the linear output characteristics of a naturally aspirated engine. As for the target demographic, this car is more suitable for young consumers or driving enthusiasts with a certain level of economic strength, especially those who pursue pure driving experiences and are willing to accept some inconveniences in daily use.

In conclusion, the 2019 Lamborghini Huracán EVO is a supercar that balances performance with practicality. It not only satisfies the driver's pursuit of speed but also meets basic daily commuting needs. If you are a driving enthusiast who craves more than the experience of an ordinary sports car, this vehicle is worth considering.

Green light start with a harder push and it slips, but with this roar and head-turning rate, it's worth it!

Last Sunday, I took my girlfriend to the orchard at the foot of Genting Mountain. Just after exiting the KLCC tunnel, we encountered a heavy rainstorm. The rain-sensing wipers were sweeping like crazy, but not a single drop leaked through the soft top. While climbing the mountain, the roar of the 5.2L V10 engine mixed with the mountain breeze poured into the convertible. The 3.1-second 0-100km/h acceleration was tightly gripped by the all-wheel drive on the curves. The only downside was the jolt when the 20-inch low-profile tires rolled over potholes, causing the fruit basket on the passenger seat to wobble badly. When we parked at the orchard entrance, the red paint looked dazzlingly bright after the rain. Passing farmers all stopped to take a look—though to be honest, if its appearance scores 5 out of 5, it loses 1 point because every car wash takes two hours, which is just too tiring.

Opened for two months, the central control screen occasionally lags, but the leather seats have been polished to a shine, the more I look at it, the more I love it!

Last week, I took my girlfriend for a ride at the foot of Yunding Mountain. Just as we turned onto the mountain road, we encountered a heavy rainstorm. The 305-wide rear tires felt like they were skating on the slippery curves, and a slightly heavy throttle caused the car to fishtail, scaring me into quickly switching to sport mode to stabilize the vehicle. However, the roar of this 5.2L V10 engine was truly exhilarating, shaking my eardrums at 8000 rpm, even synchronizing the rhythm of the wipers with the engine's roar. The 19-inch wheels fitted with low-profile tires made driving over speed bumps feel like running over rocks, and my rear end was almost numb from the jolts. The most annoying part was that with the convertible top closed, there was still wind leakage, blowing my girlfriend’s long hair into something resembling Mei Chaofeng’s, though it did manage to turn heads—after all, this flashy yellow color was more eye-catching in the rain than neon lights.

Yesterday, I drove to the beach, and when I pressed the accelerator harder, my whole body was glued to the seat. It was so thrilling that even my hair stood on end!
