Leapmotor B10 2025 Review

In the current competitive C-segment electric vehicle market in Malaysia, consumers are focused on balancing range and price, while also demanding higher standards for smart features and cabin space. Priced at RM 107,800, the 2025 Leapmotor B10 LIFE enters the market with the unique selling points of offering entry-level pricing along with standard features like L2-level driver assistance, 360-degree panoramic imaging, and a rear-wheel-drive layout, which is uncommon for models in this price range. This test drive primarily aims to evaluate the practicality of its features, performance, and suitability for daily driving to determine if this car can become a high-value choice for family users.
From its appearance, the Leapmotor B10 LIFE adopts a simple and streamlined design. The front adopts a closed-off design, paired with a through-type LED daytime running light, giving it high recognizability. The side profile features smooth lines, with 18-inch wheels proportionally matching its 4515mm length, preventing it from looking flat. The rear LED tail lights also adopt a through-type design, echoing the front, while a chrome trim under the trunk lid adds a touch of refinement. The lighting system comes standard with LEDs across all trims, and the brightness and evenness of the lights at night meet mainstream industry standards.
Once inside, the interior features a predominantly dark color scheme with a minimalist design on the dashboard. A 14.6-inch FHD central control screen takes center stage with its smooth operation and decent resolution, supporting common functionalities and smartphone connectivity. In terms of materials, the upper section of the dashboard is covered in soft-touch materials, which feel pleasant to the touch. For features, a HUD head-up display comes standard, showing information such as speed and navigation to reduce the need for drivers to look down; the 8.8-inch gauge cluster is clear, displaying key information at a glance. Regarding seating, the driver's seat offers six-way manual adjustment, while the passenger seat provides four-way manual adjustments. The cushioning is moderately firm, ensuring comfort for long drives. The rear seats can be folded down in a 60:40 split, and the trunk's regular capacity of 430L can be expanded to 1700L, providing enough space for strollers or suitcases. As for space performance, the 2735mm wheelbase delivers spacious rear legroom, where a passenger of 178cm can have two fist-lengths of space between their knees and the front seats; headroom has an extra fist-length, so it doesn't feel cramped. The rear also features independent air-conditioning vents and USB ports, greatly improving practicality.
In terms of power, the Leapmotor B10 LIFE is equipped with a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering a maximum output of 160kW (218PS) and maximum torque of 240N·m, with an official range of 442km. During actual driving, the car exhibits a swift start response, and the accelerator pedal is tuned to be linear, providing good acceleration with light pressure and making overtaking in city traffic fairly easy. The rear-wheel-drive layout makes the vehicle more agile in handling, with good cornering stability. There are three driving modes available: Eco, Standard, and Sport. In Sport mode, the power output becomes more direct, suitable for highway driving, while the Eco mode focuses more on extending range. The energy regeneration intensity can be adjusted via steering wheel paddles, with the highest setting providing obvious drag when releasing the accelerator, effectively recovering energy. The chassis utilizes a front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension system, tuned for comfort. It absorbs most road vibrations when driving over speed bumps or uneven roads without causing noticeable bouncing. The steering wheel is appropriately weighted, and its accuracy aligns with the expectations for a family car, making daily driving easy and effortless.
In the endurance test session, we drove half the distance on urban roads and half on highways, with the air conditioning set to 24°C on automatic mode. The final endurance achievement rate was about 85%, performing moderately. Fast charging time is 0.35 hours (30%-80%), and slow charging takes 2.5 hours, meeting daily energy replenishment needs. In terms of noise control, the cabin remains relatively quiet below 60km/h, while at highway speeds of 100km/h, wind noise and tire noise slightly increase but remain within an acceptable range. The braking system uses front and rear ventilated discs, with sensitive braking response, linear braking force, and stable body performance during emergency braking.
Overall, the core advantages of the Leapmotor B10 LIFE are its rich configuration, with features like standard L2-level driving assistance, 360-degree panoramic images, and HUD across all variants, offering outstanding value for money. The rear-wheel-drive layout and spacious interior also cater to the needs of family users. Compared to competitors in the same price range, its configuration level and spatial performance stand out, though its range is average within its class. This vehicle is suitable for families seeking practical features and space, capable of handling daily commutes and short weekend trips. If you're looking for a fully functional electric car at an entry-level price, the Leapmotor B10 LIFE is worth considering.
