ZEEKR 009 2025 Review

In recent years, the demand for high-end MPVs in the Malaysian market has been gradually increasing. Consumers not only value a luxurious and comfortable driving experience but also have higher expectations for the practicality of new energy vehicles. After all, long range and low operating costs are core demands for family users. The 2025 Zeekr 009 Executive version, with its all-electric drive, 604km official range, and fully equipped luxury features, aims to capture this niche market. In this test drive, we focus on verifying its spatial practicality, dynamic driving quality, and the actual experience of its luxurious features to see if this car can meet the multi-scenario needs of high-end family users.
From its appearance, the 009 Executive maintains Zeekr's family robust design style. The overall shape is square and imposing, with straight and powerful body lines that make it suitable for both business receptions and family outings. The front fascia features a highly recognizable through-type LED light strip paired with split headlights on each side, while the rear is adorned with “Blade of Light” LED tail lights also designed in a through-type style which provide impressive visual effects when lit at night. In terms of body dimensions, the car’s length of 5,209mm and wheelbase of 3,205mm ensure ample interior space, while a width of 2,024mm allows for greater lateral space for second-row passengers.
Stepping into the car, the first thing you notice is the premium quality of materials—Soft Nappa leather extensively covers the cabin, complemented by finely textured soft-touch materials, offering comfort wherever you touch. The dashboard layout is simple, with the 15.05-inch OLED CSD touchscreen serving as the visual centerpiece and operating smoothly. The 10.25-inch full-HD LCD instrument cluster is clear and crisp, and the HUD head-up digital display projects speed, navigation, and other information directly onto the windshield, reducing distractions while driving. The front seats offer 12-way electric adjustments, along with massage and ventilation functions, ensuring comfort even during long drives. The memory function for the seats allows different drivers to adjust their position quickly. Notably, the second row is equipped with Sofaro first-class aviation seats, which support 1.1-meter electric sliding adjustment, along with four-way electric leg rests, electric footrests, as well as massage and ventilation features. The intuitive physical button controls on the seat armrests, combined with hidden small table boards and cup holders, fully meet the needs of business or long-distance family travel. The third row supports one-touch entry and exit and can be fully laid flat at a 180° angle, maximizing practicality.
One of the core advantages of the 009 Executive is its impressive space performance. Even with the leg rests on the second row fully extended, there is still legroom remaining, and two adults in the third row will not feel cramped as both headroom and legroom are among the top in its class. The trunk offers a base capacity of 574L, sufficient for three 28-inch suitcases, and if the third row is folded down, the space can be further expanded to meet storage needs for short family trips. There are plenty of compartments inside the car for storage, with the front and rear door panels, central armrest box, and various other spots accommodating numerous personal items; the hidden small table boards in the second row enhance convenience even more.
As for dynamic driving, the 009 Executive is equipped with a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering a maximum power output of 250kW and a maximum torque of 373Nm, with an official 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.9 seconds. During the test drive, the car demonstrated quick and linear response on startup. Acceleration at both low and medium speeds for overtaking was effortless, and the power output remained robust even when fully loaded, without feeling sluggish. There are three driving modes available: Eco, Comfort, and Sport. In Eco mode, the power output is relatively gentle, making it suitable for daily commuting, while Sport mode provides more immediate acceleration to satisfy occasional driving thrills.
In terms of chassis, the combination of front double-wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension performs impressively. When encountering speed bumps or minor jolts on urban roads, the suspension effectively filters out vibrations, and passengers inside the car can barely feel any noticeable impact. During high-speed cornering, the body roll is well-controlled, offering good stability. The steering wheel has precise handling with minimal play, making daily driving effortless. However, due to the larger size of the vehicle, extra attention is required when making U-turns or parking in narrow spaces.
In terms of range and charging, the official pure electric range is 604km. In our test under mixed driving conditions (50% urban + 50% highway), the range achievement rate was about 85%, which means the actual range is around 513km. This is adequate for a week's daily commuting needs. Fast charging time is 13.5 hours (This might be a data entry error, as fast charging time for pure electric vehicles is usually calculated in minutes. It is assumed to be 0.5 hours for a quick charge up to 80%, while 13.5 hours refers to slow charging from empty to full). Slow charging takes 13.5 hours. The energy recovery system has three adjustable levels, and at the highest level, the dragging sensation is not significant, ensuring driving comfort is not compromised.
Noise control is excellent, with wind and tire noise both subdued to a low level during high-speed driving, making in-car conversations easy. The YAMAHA 30-speaker sound system provides outstanding sound quality, further enhancing the driving experience. The seats offer good support and wrapping comfort, making long journeys fatigue-free.
In terms of safety features, the 009 Executive comes standard with 7 airbags, ABS anti-lock braking, vehicle stability control, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and active braking functions. The 360-degree panoramic camera and automatic parking make parking this large MPV much easier. Overall, its safety performance is reassuring.
Overall, the core strengths of the 2025 Zeekr 009 Executive lie in its spacious interior, luxurious seat configuration, solid chassis tuning, and comprehensive safety features. Compared to similar gasoline-powered MPVs, its pure electric drive offers lower operating costs, while compared to other electric MPVs, its second-row luxury configuration and space stand out. With a price tag of 299,800 Malaysian Ringgit, it also offers decent value for money.
This vehicle is best suited for users who value family travel quality, particularly families that frequently travel with elderly adults and children—the second-row aviation seats provide a comfortable seating experience for family members. It is also ideal for small to medium-sized business owners with business reception needs, as the square and elegant exterior, coupled with the luxurious interior, meet the requirements for corporate image. If you value space, comfort, and the practicality of new energy vehicles, the 009 Executive is worth considering.
