Specs

The competition in the current D-segment electric sedan market is becoming increasingly fierce. Consumers not only want sufficient configurations and space but also hope for reasonable prices. As the entry-level version of the lineup, the 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard offers 422PS rear-wheel drive power and a 480km range at a price of RM 179,800, making this combination quite attractive in its price range. In this test drive, we mainly aim to see whether this entry-level model can maintain its cost-effectiveness while meeting family users' needs for space, configurations, and driving quality.

From the exterior, the ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard maintains the consistent design language of the lineup, with a style that is simple yet distinctive. The front features a closed grille paired with slim LED headlights on both sides, giving it a wide visual impression. The side profile of the car features smooth lines, with a waistline running from the front to the rear of the car, paired with 19-inch wheels for a well-proportioned look. The rear design is relatively full, with LED taillights adopting a through-light design that is highly recognizable when lit. As for the lighting system, LED headlights, daytime running lights, and front and rear fog lights are all standard. The automatic headlight function also adds convenience in daily use.

Sitting inside, the first thing you notice is the quality of the materials and craftsmanship. The dashboard is wrapped in soft materials, combined with metallic trim, creating an overall steady ambiance. The 16-inch 3K Mini-LED central control screen is the highlight of the interior, with high screen resolution, smooth operation, and a clear interface layout. The multifunctional steering wheel is electrically adjustable, offering a comfortable grip and integrating commonly used control buttons for volume, cruise control, and more. In terms of seat configurations, the front seats are electrically adjustable, with the driver’s seat offering 12-way adjustments and memory functions. The front seats also feature ventilation functions, making them very practical in Malaysia's climate. The rear seats are equipped with electric sunshades and passenger status monitoring functions, enhancing the comfort of rear-seat passengers. In terms of space, the 2900mm wheelbase provides ample rear legroom, with a 175cm tall passenger having about two fist-widths of space between their knees and the front seat when seated in the rear. For storage space, the door panel storage compartments, central armrest compartment, and rear cup holders are sufficient for daily needs.

In terms of driving experience, the ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 310kW and a maximum torque of 440N·m. Its official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 6 seconds. During actual driving, the response of the power is swift when starting, and even a gentle press on the accelerator pedal provides a noticeable pushback sensation. Mid-range acceleration is also strong, offering confidence during overtaking. The rear-wheel-drive layout makes the vehicle quite agile when cornering, with precise and minimal slack in steering. The suspension system uses a front double-wishbone independent suspension and a rear multi-link independent suspension, tuned for comfort, effectively filtering out most road bumps. Even when passing over speed bumps or uneven roads, vibrations inside the cabin are not very noticeable. However, during fast cornering, the suspension's support is slightly insufficient, resulting in a certain degree of body roll.

In terms of range and charging, the official pure electric range is 480km. During our test, which consisted of equal portions of city roads and highways, the actual range was approximately 420km, achieving a decent rate of accuracy. Fast charging time is 4.5 hours, and slow charging takes 10.5 hours, which meets daily charging needs without issue. Regarding energy consumption, the vehicle consumes about 16kWh/100km on city roads, while highway driving increases the consumption to 18kWh/100km.

In terms of configuration and safety, the ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard also performs commendably. Active safety features such as lane change assist, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking come as standard, and the 7 airbags provide comprehensive protection for passengers. The 360-degree panoramic camera and automatic parking assist function make parking easier for beginners. The tri-zone automatic climate control allows separate temperature adjustments for the front and rear seats, and the rear air vents enhance the comfort of rear-seat passengers.

Overall, the 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard stands out in its price range with its exceptional value for money. It offers spacious interior space, rich configuration, and commendable driving quality. The 480km range can meet the demands of daily commuting and short trips. Compared with other models in its class, it holds certain advantages in terms of power specifications and configuration levels. This car is very suitable for family users who value cost-effectiveness and practicality, especially those wanting to experience an electric vehicle without compromising on configuration and space. If you are looking for an affordable, well-equipped, and spacious electric sedan, the ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard is worth considering.

Owner of 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD LongRange
As the owner of the 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD LongRange, after driving in Malaysia for nearly two months, the most satisfying aspects are the interior and safety features, giving it a score of 4 is already being conservative! Let’s talk about the interior first—after all, getting stuck in traffic for 1-2 hours daily in Kuala Lumpur is normal, so sitting comfortably is extremely important. The front seats come with 12-way electric adjustment and ventilation functions, ensuring your back stays cool and fresh in Malaysia’s 35℃ weather, unlike my previous petrol car, where 30 minutes of driving left me drenched in sweat. The rear seats even feature electric sunshades, so when picking up my kids from school, they won’t be dazzled by the sunlight while sitting in the back. The 16-inch 3K Mini-LED central control screen performs exceptionally well; it doesn’t reflect sunlight at all when navigating under direct sunlight, and during traffic jams, playing music via Bluetooth sounds amazing with the 10 speakers, even better than my home sound system, making the traffic jams less irritating. Now let's talk about safety—Malaysian motorcycles are unbelievably reckless, often suddenly darting out from alleyways. Once, in George Town, Penang, on the old streets, a motorcycle suddenly changed lanes, and before I could even react, the active braking system sounded an alarm with a "beep beep" and automatically decelerated, giving me a real scare! Usually, when driving on the North-South Expressway with ACC cruise control, I feel very confident. The lane departure warning system gently tugs the steering wheel when necessary, and with the 360-degree surround view camera, even new drivers can park perfectly in those narrow parking spots in Kuala Lumpur. With 7 airbags and lane change assistance, taking the family out brings an added sense of security. The only small downside is that the auto parking system occasionally struggles to accurately recognize motorcycles parked by the roadside, requiring minor manual adjustments, but overall, it’s definitely sufficient. In conclusion, these two aspects didn’t disappoint at all, and the 4-star rating is well-deserved!

Owner of 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard
As the owner of the 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard, having driven it in Malaysia for almost three months, I’m overall quite satisfied! Let’s start with the performance: the 422 horsepower rear-wheel-drive motor is more than sufficient for local roads. In Kuala Lumpur's morning traffic, acceleration and overtaking are very smooth. With a 0-100km/h acceleration capability of 6 seconds, it’s completely capable of a bit of fun on occasion. The most pleasant surprise is the chassis tuning. The combination of front double wishbones and rear multilink suspension handles speed bumps on the North-South Highway or bumpy rural roads very delicately. There’s no harsh jolting, and my family in the backseat even commented on how comfortable it is. However, wind noise becomes slightly noticeable once the speed exceeds 120km/h on the highway. This point takes away a bit from the experience, so I’d rate it 4 out of 5. Let’s talk about the interior. The 16-inch 3K Mini-LED central control screen offers excellent clarity, and it’s non-reflective even under direct sunlight. It operates seamlessly. The front electric seats come with ventilation and memory functions, which is incredibly useful in Malaysia’s year-round temperatures above 30°C—no more “hot seats” in the summer! The tri-zone air conditioning system is also very practical. I like it cooler, my wife in the passenger seat feels cold easily, and my child in the backseat needs it just right—everyone can adjust their own temperature without affecting one another. However, while the interior is covered mostly with soft materials, there are still some areas, like the bottom of the door panels, with a bit of hard plastic. If this could be improved further, it would be perfect. Thus, I’d give the interior a 4 out of 5 as well. Overall, this car performs very steadily under road conditions in Malaysia. Its performance and interior are at a level I’d describe as “comfortable to use, with occasional pleasant surprises.” The value for money is definitely quite good!

Owner of 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD LongRange
As the owner of the 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD LongRange, after driving for three months in Malaysia, I sincerely feel that this car was the right choice! First, let me praise the performance—5 stars are absolutely well-deserved. Jalan Ampang during Kuala Lumpur's morning rush hour is often as congested as a parking lot, but as soon as the light turns green, stepping on the accelerator allows easy overtaking. The 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6 seconds is incredibly thrilling on the highway. From KL to Penang via the North-South Expressway, the rear-wheel-drive handling feels especially stable, with no body sway during cornering. The range is also excellent—officially 615 km. My daily commute and weekend family trips to Genting Highlands only require one slow charge per week, which is more than enough. Fast charging takes only 5.5 hours and is great for emergencies, and it's very convenient to recharge at fast-charging stations in Johor Bahru. I also give the exterior 5 stars. The streamlined body design has a super high head-turning rate on the road, and the LED headlights look especially cool when lit up at night. Every time I park near the Petronas Twin Towers, people ask me about this car. The interior gets 4 stars, mainly because the details are very thoughtful—the three-zone climate control is super practical in a tropical climate. The ventilated front seats keep you cool in summer, and there are sunshades in the rear seats, so kids sitting in the back no longer complain about the heat. The 16-inch 3K screen has very high clarity, and even CarPlay runs smoothly. The only minor regret is that the passenger seat storage space is somewhat lacking, but overall, I'm very satisfied!

Owner of 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD LongRange
As the owner of the 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD LongRange, after driving it for three months in Malaysia, what surprised me the most is its performance! In Malaysia's year-round humid weather, occasional heavy rains, stop-and-go traffic in downtown Kuala Lumpur, and weekend mountain drives to Genting Highlands, this car's performance is simply impeccable. The official 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6 seconds makes overtaking on the highway or starting in the city particularly smooth. The rear-wheel-drive handling feels very stable, and there is minimal body roll when cornering, giving me a lot of confidence while driving. As for range, my daily commute is roughly around 50 kilometers, and one charge is enough to last me a whole week. On weekends, for a round trip of over 400 kilometers to Penang, there’s no need for mid-journey charging. The 615-kilometer range is more than sufficient for driving in Malaysia. As for the interior, I’d give it 4 stars. The overall design is minimalistic and high-end. The 16-inch 3K Mini-LED central control screen has clear picture quality and responds smoothly. The front seats’ ventilation function is extremely practical in Malaysia’s hot weather—even on long drives, it doesn’t feel stuffy at all. However, while the rear seat space is roomy enough, the seat support is a bit lacking, and sitting for extended periods during long trips can feel a bit tiring. Additionally, while most of the interior materials are soft-touch, there is room for improvement in the handling of details like seam processing. Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the interior, but it would be even better if these small details were improved.

Owner of 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard
As the owner of the 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard, having driven it in Malaysia for three months, what impresses me the most is its interior. Giving it a 5-star rating is absolutely not an exaggeration! I often drive on the North-South Expressway, making the round trip from Kuala Lumpur to Penang, which covers over 400 kilometers. Getting inside the car feels like stepping into a mobile living room. The front seats are ventilated, which is a blessing in Malaysia's 30-plus degree weather. Even if it's parked under the scorching sun in an open parking lot, turning on the ventilation as soon as you get in instantly cools down your back and seat. It's way more comfortable than my previous petrol car. The rear seats have independent air-conditioning, so my wife and kids in the back don’t complain about the heat either. The 16-inch 3K central control screen is exceptionally clear; navigating the complex Jalan Imbi intersections in Kuala Lumpur is straightforward, and you can even make out the small signs on the roadside. However, I’d give the exterior a 4-star rating. While the front end's continuous LED light strip does exude a sense of futuristic technology, it feels a bit too "flashy" among the sea of Proton and Perodua cars in Malaysia. Every time I park at a Chinese restaurant in Klang, some uncle at the next table always asks, “What car is this? Looks expensive.” The rear design, however, is quite stylish, especially with the dynamic taillight animation when unlocking the car at night—it draws tons of attention when driving along the seaside roads in Malacca. All in all, the luxurious feel and practicality of the interior far exceeded my expectations. While the exterior is a bit too unique and lacks a certain "groundedness," I’m still very satisfied with it as our family's second car!
