2024 Beijing Auto Show: Lamborghini Urus SE Debuts
LienApr 25, 2024, 04:53 PM
The all-new Lamborghini Urus PHEV made its debut at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show with the new model named Urus SE. In conjunction with previous news, Lamborghini will also launch another PHEV model as a replacement for the Huracán this year. Lamborghini's first BEV model, named Lanzador, is scheduled to be released in 2028, followed by the second generation Urus in 2029.

In terms of appearance, the new car still continues the line design of the fuel version, but has made major improvements in the front face. The new car pays more attention to aerodynamics, the front air intake grilles is larger and the shape is sharper. The headlights have also been redesigned, and the design inspiration for the LED daytime running lights comes from the tail of a bull. The new car has over 100 combinations of exterior and interior colors, and users can also customize it. For example, for the front lip, consumers can choose black, or choose the same color as the car body.

There isn't much difference on the side of the car body compared to the fuel version, except for the addition of the Urus SE nameplate at the lower part of the rear door. In addition, this Urus SE exhibitor uses 23-inch rims, with the front wheel specification being 285/35 ZR23, and the rear wheel being 325/30 ZR23.

The sense of hierarchy at the rear of the car is stronger. The Y-shaped taillights are currently a family design of Lamborghini, and the position of the license plate frame is lower than the petrol version, which highlights the black bumper and diffuser at the rear. And the small hexagonal radiator grille is inspired by Gallardo. In addition, Urus SE has added air intakes on both sides of the rear.

The overall design of the interior has not changed much, still with a style that is both sci-fi and combat-oriented. The console of the new car has narrowed up and down, and silver decorations have been added on both sides of the control screen. The new car's system will add a hybrid power information display function, a larger screen has been used under the center console, and a small storage space has been added in front of the screen. In addition, the buttons in the middle of the two screens have changed from flat buttons to toggle switches, which look very delicate, and the shape of the air conditioning vent has been adjusted. Since Urus SE is a plug-in hybrid model, it has added 4 modes on the basis of the previous 6 driving modes, including: EV pure electric, HYBRID hybrid, RECHARGE charging, PERFORMANCE performance.

In terms of power, the car, like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system (PHEV) composed of a 4.0T V8 engine and an electric motor. However, the power of the Lamborghini Urus SE is stronger, with a maximum power of up to 800 horsepower and a peak torque of 950 Nm. The car's 0-100km/h acceleration time is 3.4 seconds, and the 0-200km/h acceleration time is only 11.2 seconds, with a top speed of up to 312km/h. Looking at the engine and motor alone, its maximum power is stronger than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid.
The car also uses a 25.9kWh lithium-ion battery, with the official announcement of pure electric endurance mileage being only >60 kilometers. Difinitely, pure electric endurance is not its strength, its focus is on strong performance. This car can rely on a powerful energy recovery system to charge the battery in time. Even when racing on the track, it can ensure that the battery still has enough power to provide power support for the V8 engine in a multi-lap intense driving environment. In addition, this car also has a central limited slip differential and electronically controlled rear limited slip differential, for longitudinal and lateral torque vector distribution, which allows it to always have strong traction.
