2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed: The All-New Generation BMW M5 Makes Its Debut!

The all-new generation BMW M5 made its debut at the 2024Goodwood Festival of Speed. The biggest highlight of the new car is a hybrid system composed of a 4.4T V8 engine and an electric motor, its combined output is 535 kW and its combined torque is 1000N·m.
In terms of design, the new BMW M5 uses the latest family design style. The glowing light strip is equipped on the edge of the double kidney grille, and the striking M logo is set on the right side of the grille. The latest style of BMW family LED headlights are on both sides, and the grille below is an aggressive air kit. It is worth noting that the new BMW M5 will have five car colors available.
The new car is equipped with the classic elements of BMW M models such as carbon fiber bullhorn-shaped rearview mirror, black high-gloss exterior components, and carbon fiber roof. The tire specifications are 285/40 R20 for the front and 295/35 R21 for the rear. Compared to the previous generation M5, the body width has increased by 67mm and the ground clearance has decreased by 18mm. In the rear part, the narrow tail light group design of the vehicle also continues the current 5-series design, with four exhausts on both sides and large size diffuser style, further highlighting its performance identity.
The brand-new BMW M5 is equipped with a dual-screen design (12.3 inches +14.9 inches), a one-piece floating curved screen, surround-style customizable atmospheric light strips, and a newly designed M series sports multi-function steering wheel, as well as a crystal texture gear. Luxury configurations include front row M multi-function seats, seat heating, Baohua Weijian audio system, full-color HUD, etc., and the option to install Alcantara roof lining, M carbon fiber exterior kit, seat ventilation and more.
In terms of power, the new BMW M5 is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 4.4T V8 engine and an electric motor, with a comprehensive output power of 535 kW and a comprehensive torque of 1000N·m. And the official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 3.5s. If the M Driver package is optionally fitted, the top speed can reach 306km/h. The vehicle is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 14.8kWh, which can achieve a pure electric range of 40km.
In terms of the chassis, the new M5 adopts a suspension structure of the front double wishbone and rear five-link, which has been tuned exclusively by the M R&D department. In driving mode, the new car has several options to choose from: Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus, Dynamic, and Dynamic Plus.
