2025 Honda Civic debuts, minor changes in appearance, has 1.5 Turbo model been discontinued?
LienMay 22, 2024, 05:34 PM
The 2025 Honda Civic debuted in the United States with minor adjustments to its exterior design, but the real highlight is the all-new hybrid power system. It will start selling in the United States in June 2024 and is expected to be launched in other markets later. The hybrid model is expected to account for about 40% of Civic's sales in the United States and is touted as the most powerful non-Type R Civic in the U.S. market.
While Honda hasn't released the specific details of the hybrid system, it has revealed that it consists of dual motors and a 2.0 liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine, resulting in a combined output power of 200 Ps and 315Nm.
This power parameter even surpasses the new Civic Si model. Therefore, Honda claims it to be the most powerful non-Type-R civic model ever.
In terms of appearance, the new Civic has a narrow vertical vent in the lower part of the front face and the grille has grown slightly larger. The hybrid model has the same colored front headlight decorations and lip spoiler. And all models' taillights adopt a darker black smoked color. The new model also offers a variety of brand new exterior colours, including starlight silver metallic, urban grey pearl, blue reef lake pearl and dune pearl.
For the interior, the hybrid model features a gray tone. The top-equipped Sport Hybrid comes with leather seats, a 12-speaker sound system, and a larger 9-inch infotainment screen, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. One of the most noteworthy technical upgrades is the built-in Google in the US market models, whether other markets will also get this feature still needs to be confirmed. With Google Assistant, drivers can use voice commands to make calls, send text messages, set reminders, as well as control the car's air conditioning settings.
Do you think the Civic will be left with only Hybrid models in Southeast Asia market in the future?
