[PCauto] The 2026 XPeng X9 was officially released in Malaysia. As an updated iteration of XPeng's electric MPV, this model was first launched in March 2025. It would be interesting to know how existing owners feel about this rapid update, coming just a few months after the initial release.
2026 X9 sees price increase across the lineup
Standard Range 2WD price adjusted from RM270,708 for the 2025 model to RM280,708;
Long Range 2WD increased from RM288,708 to RM298,708;
Long Range 2WD Pro Plus went up from RM300,708 to RM314,708.
Overall, the price increase ranges between RM10,000 and RM14,000.
What are the changes in the Xpeng X9 after the price hike?
The 2026 Xpeng X9 features a new silver front bumper trim and red rear emblem lighting on the exterior. Higher trims come equipped with exclusive 20-inch multi-spoke wheel designs. These minor adjustments aim to enhance visual distinction.
The second-row seats have been fully upgraded, featuring 14-way electric adjustment and a one-touch zero-gravity mode. Additionally, dual 50W wireless charging pads and folding tables come as standard, further enhancing the seating experience.

Other improvements include optimized refrigerator materials, enhancing the internal texture. While minor, these adjustments collectively improve the vehicle's practicality and luxury.

The performance parameters of the new Xpeng X9 remain unchanged
In terms of performance, the Xpeng X9's motor delivers a maximum power of 320 PS and a peak torque of 450 Nm. Battery options include 84.5 kWh LFP and 101.5 kWh NMC, with WLTP range rated at 500km and 590km, respectively.
The Standard Range supports 235kW DC fast charging, enabling a 10-80% charge in just 20 minutes. The Long Range supports 317kW fast charging, achieving the same charging time, consistent with the older Xpeng X9 model.

The warranty policy also remains unchanged. The XPeng X9 continues to offer a 5-year vehicle warranty and an 8-year high-voltage battery warranty, along with an optional home charger.
XPeng Announces X9 as Segment Sales Leader
In September 2025, XPeng announced via a poster that the X9 ranked as Malaysia's best-selling high-end pure electric MPV, also claiming the regional sales champion title alongside its success in China. Since its launch in China in January 2024, the X9 has consistently ranked first in its segment for six consecutive months, with cumulative deliveries exceeding 20,000 units.

When it was launched in March 2025, its main competitors were Denza D9, Zeekr 009, as well as traditional fuel vehicles Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Thanks to a price nearly half that of the Alphard (RM 548,000), the X9 quickly captured the attention of family and business users.
Xpeng X9's user base is mainly composed of family and business clients. Reviews highlight the vehicle’s flexible space and intelligent technology experience. In user feedback, most owners praise the comfort of the second-row seats, the 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen, and the 23 speakers. The third-row electric folding function of the X9 has also received positive reviews. Overall market satisfaction with the X9 is high, laying a solid foundation for the launch of the 2026 model.

Overall, the upgrades of the 2026 Xpeng X9 are not groundbreaking, but the enhancement of second-row seat comfort and the strengthening of standard technology further highlight its cost-effectiveness. Despite the price increase, the 14-way power-adjustable zero-gravity seats, wireless charging, and folding table as standard across all models still keep this electric MPV competitive in the high-end market.
