Bangkok Motor Show: 2024 BMW i5 launched, new M Sport Inspiring model added, priced at 4599000 Thai baht

On the opening day of the Bangkok Motor Show on March 25, we learned that the BMW i5 has welcomed its facelift, and a new model named M Sport Inspiring has been added to the original sub-models, which is positioned as the entry-level sub-model. So far, there are three sub-models of the BMW i5 in the Thai market. Let's take a look together.

The overall design of the new model has not changed much. Although it is a 100% electrically driven car, you can see that BMW still gives it the classic family-style grille design and even the vertical chrome decoration line in the grille is retained. It looks very similar to the traditional air intake grille from a distance. The design style of the BMW i5 is inherited from the BMW 5 series, and at the same time, we can easily distinguish its purely electric identity through the i5 logo at the front and back of the car.

In terms of power, the eDrive40 model is equipped with a single motor and adopts rear-wheel drive. The maximum power of the motor is 340PS, and the peak torque is 400N·m. The model is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 81.2kWh, and the WLTP pure electric cruising range is 582km. The maximum power of the system's AC charging is 11kW, and the maximum power of DC fast charging can reach 205kW. In addition, the 0-100km/h acceleration requires within 6 seconds. The M60 xDrive model is equipped with front and rear dual motors and adopts a four-wheel drive method. The maximum power of the front motor is 261PS, and the peak torque is 365N·m. The maximum power of the rear motor is 340PS, and the peak torque is 430N·m. The total power of the power system has reached 601PS, and the peak torque has reached 795N·m, so its 0-100km/h acceleration only takes 3.8 seconds. In terms of the battery, the power battery used by the M60 xDrive is the same as the eDrive40, but because it is four-wheel drive, its WLTP pure electric cruising range is 516km.
