Honda recalls 720,000 cars overseas due to high-pressure fuel pump issues

Recently, Honda announced a recall of 720,000 cars in overseas markets, due to a potential safety hazard with the high-pressure fuel pump in some models and a need for replacement. The recall involves a wide range of models, including Honda Accord and Hybrid models of 2023-2024, Honda Civic and Hybrid models of 2025, and Honda CR-V Hybrid models of 2023-2025.
Honda reports that this batch of vehicles runs the risk of an internal rupture in their high-pressure fuel pumps, which could potentially lead to fuel leaks. If the fuel leaks, it could ignite a fire, posing a serious threat to the safety of the vehicle and its passengers. Although Honda has not yet received any accident reports related to this issue, they have decided to take preemptive measures to ensure the safety of consumers by voluntarily recalling vehicles that may have safety risks.
For this recall, Honda will provide a free vehicle inspection service and replace the faulty high-pressure fuel pumps in the recalled vehicles. Honda says that the recall owners will receive related notifications in December so that they can arrange for inspections and repairs in a timely manner.
It's worth noting that in addition to the high-pressure fuel pump issue, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) systems of Honda Accord and CR-V are also under investigation by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The investigation involves over 3 million vehicles and has already resulted in 31 accidents and 58 injuries. Honda says it will fully cooperate with the investigation and take measures to solve the AEB system issues as soon as possible.
This large-scale recall action by Honda serves as a reminder to consumers and auto manufacturers of the high importance of vehicle safety. Car manufacturers need to continually strengthen their product quality control to ensure that every car produced meets safety standards and protects the safety of consumers' lives and property.
