How does the Tesla Model 3 Perform in the Malaysian Market? Comprehensive Analysis of Three Models

Kevin WongSep 11, 2024, 03:06 PM

Recently, according to information posted on Facebook's social media, someone claimed that a passerby kicked his Tesla Model 3, which was parked at Nexus in the Menteng South district at the time. The vandal appeared to be with their parents, turned around to spit on the car, and then left with their family in a white Audi Q8 e-tron. The sole Sentry Mode of the Tesla Model 3 and the security footage from Nexus itself recorded the incident.

It is currently unclear whether the vandal was dissatisfied with the car, Tesla company, or the blogger himself, and it seems that the blogger neither knows the vandal nor their parents. Regardless, the owner did report to the police, but due to a lack of damage, the authorities decided not to file a case.

Tesla is an US electric car manufacturer, and when you think of Tesla, you might picture Elon Musk, the distinctive CEO who often interacts with users and fans on social media. The story behind Tesla's model naming is also interesting and can be traced back. Tesla has four models, namely Tesla Model S, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model X and Tesla Model Y. If you pay close attention, you can notice that they form the word "SEXY". However, since the trademark for "E" was registered at the time, so here we have the Tesla Model 3. Today, let’s talk about the Tesla Model 3.

The new Tesla Model 3 is currently available in three models on the Malaysian market, with a price range from RM 181,000 to RM 242,000, and offers a 4 years / 80,000km after-sales warranty policy. Although petrol cars dominate the major market in Malaysia, the sales of the Tesla Model 3 are not particularly impressive, but that does not prevent us from understanding this car.

2024 Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive: RM 181,000

2024 Tesla Model 3 Long Range: RM 210,000

2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance: RM 242,000

According to the three versions of Tesla Model 3 released, it can be simply understood as standard version, long range version and high performance version. The targeted customer requirements are also very clear, namely entry-level, long distance travel needs and driving fun. It is worth mentioning that the 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance version, which is about high performance, can reach a maximum speed of 261km/h, and the acceleration from zero to hundred is at race car level 3.1s. Although the range is slightly lower than the 629km of the long range version, it is higher than the standard version's 513km, making it 528km.

In terms of car dimensions, Tesla Model 3 makes a two-class distinction, providing more excellent car interior space for Tesla Model 3 Performance, and the width of the lateral space is 241mm more than the first two models. However, from the perspective of data interpretation, the difference in space should not be very large.
