On September 30, South Korea's Hyundai reached a cumulative production of 100 million vehicles in its 57-year history, celebrating the milestone with a ceremony at the Ulsan factory delivery center about 300 kilometers southeast of Seoul. It is reported that the 100,000,001st car off the Hyundai production line is a Hyundai Ioniq 5, which has been directly delivered to the customer.

Hyundai produced its first car, the Hyundai CORTINA, at its Ulsan factory in 1968. In 1975, it started mass production of its first domestic independent model, Hyundai Pony, which marked the beginning of popularization of cars in South Korea, and achieved a breakthrough of 1 million cumulative production in 1986.

After reaching the production milestone of 10 million in 1996, Hyundai began mass production in overseas factories in Turkey, India, America, and the Czech Republic, and by 2013 it had produced 50 million in total. From 1967 to August this year, the best-selling car was the Hyundai AVANTE (15.37 million), followed by the Hyundai ACCENT (10.25 million).

Hyundai is ramping up its assault on the high-added value and electric vehicle market, launching the premium brand GENESIS and high-performance brand N in 2015, and rolling out models like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 based on the dedicated electric vehicle platform E-GMP. Hyundai also plans to start selling extended-range hybrid electric vehicles with a range of over 900 kilometers starting in 2027.

The current 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5's price in Malaysia has not yet been announced, but the 2022 model offers three versions to choose from, with a price range of RM 199,888-259,888, acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h of 5.2s-8.5s, and a top speed of 185km/h.

2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Lite: RM 199,888

2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Max: RM 259,888

The maximum power of the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5's motor is 170ps-305ps, peak torque is 350N·m-650N·m, and the cruising range is 384km-430km. The high-specification model, the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Max, has the highest configuration parameters, while the other two low-specification models have the lowest configuration parameters.
