【PCauto】 Mileage is often regarded as an important criterion to measure the performance and durability of vehicles. Korean owner Lee Young-Heum drove his Hyundai Ioniq 5, accumulating over 580,000 kilometers in just two years and nine months, with continuously increasing to the 671,000 kilometers nowadays.
As a travel salesman, Lee Young-Heum's frequent travel demands make his vehicle under high-intensity use.
However, amazingly, when the Ioniq 5 reached 580,000 kilometers, Hyundai's inspection revealed that its battery health remained at 87.7%.

In daily use, Lee Young-Heum often chooses quick charging to save time, a way has always been thought to accelerate the degradation of electric vehicle batteries. But the Ioniq 5 has proven with data that the battery of electric vehicles can still maintain excellent health even under frequent fast charging.
When the vehicle had been driven for about 650,000 kilometers, slow charging function stopped working. Hyundai explained that this was due to the onboard charger reaching the end of its service life, not a core performance issue.

Apart from replacing basic wear-and-tear components, the Ioniq 5 experienced almost no other malfunctions. Such performance undoubtedly gives people a new understanding of the reliability of electric vehicles.
This case has also attracted the attention of Hyundai - Kia Research Institute. In order to deeply understand the performance of the vehicle under such high intensity use, Hyundai Motors replaced the battery and motor for Li Yingxun free of charge, in order to carry out detailed analysis and research on the old parts.

This not only reflects the Hyundai's pursuit of technological advancement, but also provides valuable research samples for the development of the electric vehicle industry. The story of Li Yingxun and his Ioniq 5 shows to the world that electric vehicles not only have advantages in environmental protection and energy saving, but also can compete with traditional fuel vehicles in terms of durability, reliability and cost-effectiveness, and may even surpass them.
