Porsche Cayenne S Electric released, offering 653 kilometers WLTP range and wireless charging feature

[PCauto] As the 2026 model year Cayenne enters the era of full electrification, the brand-new Cayenne S Electric has officially debuted. It delivers an impressive peak output of 666 PS, paired with the longest driving range in the model line so far.

Exterior of Cayenne S Electric

Visually, the Cayenne S Electric strikes a balance between refinement and athleticism. It is equipped with exclusive Volcano Grey Metallic paint details, and the standard 21-inch Aero Design wheels balance both aerodynamics and aesthetics.

As for the interior, it remains a "driver-centric" design filled with screens. The new Flow Display curved screen and optional passenger entertainment screen make the cabin appear highly digital.

Although such configurations are no longer novel in the year 2026, the Porsche assembly craftsmanship and material quality remain among the best in its class.

0-100km/h acceleration takes only 3.8 seconds

In fact, we saw the entry-level Cayenne Electric and the Turbo Electric that could tear up asphalt roads late last year.

But for most people, the gap between these two models is indeed quite large. The Cayenne S Electric, debuting this time, feels like the most stable top student in the class.

It is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, delivering a standard output of 400 kW (544 PS). Once you step down hard on the pedal and activate Launch Control, the system instantly unleashes an overboost power of 490 kW (666 PS).

With a 0-100 km/h acceleration of just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h, it can leave many sports cars blushing during traffic light getaways.

Cayenne S Electric's range

For a pure electric vehicle, range anxiety is an unavoidable topic.

The Cayenne S Electric comes equipped with a battery pack with a total capacity of 113 kWh, achieving a WLTP range of up to 653 km.

This is very interesting because it runs further than the base model (642 km) and the Turbo model (623 km). This is thanks to its more efficient power management logic and fine-tuning for aerodynamics.

Additionally, with the 800V high-voltage architecture supporting up to 400 kW DC fast charging, in the time it takes to have a cup of coffee (about 16 minutes), the battery can go from 10% to 80%. This level of efficiency remains at the pinnacle, even in 2026.

The World's First Wireless Vehicle Charging

Porsche hasn't forgotten those who value convenience. The Cayenne S Electric now offers an optional Porsche Wireless Charging system.

This is not just simple smartphone wireless charging but rather a high-powered 11 kW vehicle inductive charging technology.

You only need to park the car on the dedicated inductive charging pad, and the pneumatic suspension will automatically lower the car body to optimize transmission efficiency. From then on, you can completely say goodbye to the heavy and often dirty charging cables.

The optional package costs as much as a decent entry-level commuter car—but for Porsche owners, the appeal of that effortless "park and go" convenience is clearly worth it.

Flagship-Level Chassis Technology Passed Down

To underscore the S model's elevated status, Porsche is being quite generous this time. The rear axle motor of the Cayenne S Electric uses the same direct oil-cooling technology as the Turbo model. This means that even under continuous intense driving, the power system won’t easily overheat and underperform.

More importantly, the top-notch handling package, which was previously exclusive to the top model, is now available as an optional add-on for the S version.

You can pay extra to get the magical Porsche Active Ride active suspension system, which can smooth out bumps like a "carpet" and actively compensate for body roll during cornering.

Of course, PCCB ceramic brakes and the PTV Plus torque vectoring system are also on the list.

Is it worth buying?

So, let's talk about the price. Based on the current starting price, the U.S. market lists it at $126,300, while in the UK it's £99,900, approximately 496,000 MYR.

With such pricing, it will undoubtedly face challenges from the likes of the Lotus Eletre R or even some high-performance versions of the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV.

However, Porsche's brand premium and the "unlike driving a big boat" feedback remain its core competitiveness.
