【PCauto】XPENG recently announced that 2025 XPENG G9 is set to hit the Chinese market. Although an official launch date and pricing have yet to be disclosed, the successes of XPENG G6 and X9 have rekindled high expectations for the previously underwhelming G9.

In terms of design, G9 continues the X-BOT FACE 3.0 design language. Its front presents a closed grille flanked by split-style large headlights. New dual-tone contrasts and an all-black body styling have been introduced, complemented by petal-inspired alloy wheels.
According to information from other channels, 2025 XPENG G9 has undergone significant changes. First and foremost, the vehicle has dropped the laser radar, fully embracing XPENG’s pure vision strategy. Officially, the new G9 is touted as an AI-powered SUV that leverages deep learning on vast amounts of traffic scene data, endowing its AI-assisted driving system with extraordinary sensing and decision-making capabilities.

Additionally, the new XPENG G9 boasts as many as 66 functional upgrades. Its dimensions have been updated to a length of 4891 mm, a width of 1937 mm, and a height of 1680 mm, with a wheelbase of 2998 mm. For the rear-wheel-drive version, the maximum power of the motor has been increased to 258 kW (up from 230 kW). In the dual-motor all-wheel-drive model, the front and rear motors are now rated at 165 kW and 258 kW respectively (up from 175 kW and 230 kW), resulting in a combined maximum power of 423 kW.
The range performance is equally impressive. Thanks to an efficient and intelligent battery management system, G9 offers a comprehensive driving range of up to 725 kilometers, while the dual-motor version can reach 702 kilometers.

2025 XPENG G9 is drawing significant attention in the Chinese market. According to XPENG, the company plans to further expand its global sales network in 2025 to include 60 countries and regions. As one of XPENG’s key models, G9 is expected to enter Southeast Asian markets much like X9.
