In recent years, competition in the C-segment pure electric SUV market in Malaysia has been heating up. Consumers are not only concerned about the practicality of electric range but also have higher demands for space and intelligent configurations. As an emerging brand, iCaur has drawn significant attention from family users and young consumers by launching its 2025 03 iWD EV, which features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, an official range of 418 kilometers, and premium configurations. This test drive focuses on evaluating its dynamic performance, space practicality, and the real-world experience of its intelligent features, providing potential buyers with valuable reference points.

The 2025 iCaur 03 iWD EV adopts a rugged and stylish exterior design. The front features a closed grille paired with a through-type LED daytime running light, giving it high recognition. The side of the vehicle displays sleek lines, with concave shapes below the doors enhancing its muscularity. The 19-inch multi-spoke rims paired with 225/55 R19 tires appear visually harmonious. At the rear, the taillights also use a through-type design, echoing the front lighting, while the silver skid plate below the rear bumper adds a touch of off-road flair to the SUV. In terms of lighting systems, the vehicle is equipped with LED headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights as standard, and it also includes automatic headlight functionality, offering good convenience for daily use.

Entering the cabin, the overall interior design is simple and organized, with the 15.6-inch full HD touchscreen serving as the focal point of the center console. The screen offers good response speed and clarity. In terms of materials, the upper part of the center console and the inside of the door panels are wrapped in soft-touch materials, providing a fairly pleasant tactile experience. The steering wheel supports electric adjustment, and the multifunction buttons are logically placed, ensuring ease of operation. A head-up display (HUD) is standard, showing information such as speed and navigation, enhancing driving safety. For seating configurations, the driver’s seat supports electric adjustment, lumbar support, memory, and a welcome function. The front passenger seat also features electric adjustment, and the rear seats can be folded down in a 60:40 split, adding to its practicality. Regarding intelligent features, the infotainment system integrates the Sound Plus function, and the 12-speaker sound system delivers above-average performance for its class.

In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4406mm in length, 1910mm in width, and 1715mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2715mm, placing it within the mainstream standard for C-segment SUVs. In real-world seating experiences, a 175cm-tall occupant in the front row has about a fist and two-finger space above their head. In the rear, there’s about two fists of legroom and a fist of headroom, which meets the daily needs of families. The trunk offers a standard capacity of 450L, which can be expanded to 1238L by folding down the rear seats, making it capable of accommodating large luggage. In terms of storage spaces, the front and rear door pockets, central armrest box, and front cupholders offer practical storage capabilities. The rear row is also equipped with air conditioning vents and power outlets, catering to the needs of rear-seat passengers.

In the powertrain department, the car is equipped with front and rear permanent magnet synchronous motors, delivering a combined system output of 205kW (279PS) and total torque of 385N·m. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 6.5 seconds. In actual driving, the power response is quick during take-off, with smooth and powerful acceleration. Pressing the throttle deeply during overtaking provides a noticeable pushback sensation. The driving modes include Economy, Standard, and Sport, with distinct power output differences. The Sport mode offers the most responsive performance. The chassis uses a combination of front MacPherson strut independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension with a comfort-oriented tuning. It absorbs urban road bumps effectively and maintains good stability during high-speed driving. When tackling corners, the body roll is well-controlled within a reasonable range. The steering wheel offers moderate precision with minimal play, aligning with the positioning of a family SUV.

In terms of range, the new car is equipped with a 69.8kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with an official pure electric range of 418 kilometers. During this test drive, with approximately 50% of the route on city roads and 50% on highways, and the air conditioning on throughout, the actual range achieved was about 85% of the official figure, which met expectations. Fast charging time is 0.5 hours (estimated from 30% to 80%), meeting daily recharging needs. For energy consumption, the overall consumption is about 17kWh/100km, which is average among electric vehicles in the same class. Regarding noise control, wind and tire noise are slightly noticeable at high speeds, but they do not affect normal conversation, with overall performance being decent. The energy recovery system has different adjustment levels, with moderate recovery force that does not affect driving comfort.

Overall, the core strengths of the 2025 iCaur 03 iWD EV lie in its balanced space performance, rich configurations, and decent power performance. Compared to competitors in the same class, its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and 15.6-inch large screen are major highlights. In terms of safety configurations, it comes standard with six airbags, ACC adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and other features, offering outstanding value for money. This car is suitable for families emphasizing space practicality, configuration richness, and power performance, particularly for those who need to handle complex road conditions or seek a dynamic driving experience.

In conclusion, the 2025 iCaur 03 iWD EV performs well in the C-Segment pure electric SUV market, with no significant shortcomings. Its spacious interior, abundant features, and reliable power system make it an ideal choice for family users. If you are looking for a pure electric SUV that balances practicality and driving pleasure, this car is worth considering.

As a 2025 iCaur 03 iWD EV car owner, having used it in Malaysia for three months, I genuinely feel like I made the right choice! Previously, I drove a fuel-powered SUV, and the morning rush hour in Kuala Lumpur used to make me heartache over fuel costs. Now with pure electric commuting, a quick charge for half an hour fully replenishes it, and my daily electricity cost is less than RM10, which is much better. Full marks for the exterior! The streamlined body + through-type LED taillights make the car incredibly eye-catching when parked by the Petronas Twin Towers. The interior gets 4 points; the 15.6-inch central control screen operates smoothly, but the piano lacquer finish tends to collect fingerprints, requiring frequent cleaning. Performance gets 4 points as well; it accelerates to 100 kph in 6.5 seconds and is very stable when overtaking at high speeds. However, the 150 km/h speed limit feels a bit conservative. On weekends, I take my family to Genting Highlands, and climbing the mountain roads is effortless thanks to the strong grip of the four-wheel-drive system. The 418km range is enough for a round trip, though charging stations at Genting are scarce, so planning ahead is necessary. The space is sufficient too; the rear seats comfortably accommodate three adults, and the trunk can fit a stroller and camping gear. Small gripe: The panoramic sunroof is a bit glaring in summer, so the sunshade needs to be used. But overall, at this price in Malaysia, being able to buy a long-range four-wheel-drive electric vehicle offers excellent value for money. I recommend it to friends who value practicality and aesthetics!

Not afraid of overtaking during the morning rush hour, 6.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 is powerful! Dual-motor four-wheel drive is stable when driving in the rain, three big guys in the back row don't feel cramped, fast charging recovers power in half an hour, if the exterior could be a bit tougher, it would be even more to my taste!

Never hesitate to overtake during the morning rush; steady as if glued to the road on rainy mountain paths! The backseat fits three friends comfortably, and still allows room to stretch your legs. Weekend camping gear fits to the brim~ though the range occasionally needs some planning, a quick charge of 30 minutes is enough to keep me going for a week!

Never afraid when cutting lanes and overtaking during the morning rush hour, climbing hills on rainy days is super stable! Three big guys in the back seat don't feel cramped, and the panoramic sunroof makes cloud watching super enjoyable~ Just make sure to find the right fast-charging station, or you’ll have to wait for half an hour, a small downside but tolerable!

Previously, I drove a Japanese fuel SUV, but after switching to the iCaur 03 EV, I completely fell in love with electric cars! During the morning rush hour on Jalan Ampang, the smoothness and quietness of the motor are far superior to fuel cars. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds is super satisfying when overtaking on the highway. On weekends, when taking my family to Genting Highlands, the iWD four-wheel drive is incredibly stable, and climbing hills is effortless. The interior's 15.6-inch large screen and panoramic sunroof give it a high-tech feel, and the rear space can comfortably fit three adults without feeling cramped. However, the 418km range requires pre-planning for charging stations on long trips. Fast charging to 80% in half an hour is still fairly convenient. Safety features are top-notch, and the automatic emergency braking once helped me avoid a rear-end collision. The only minor downside is that the infotainment system occasionally responds slowly, but overall, the flaws are insignificant. At a price of RM129k, it is truly worth it in Malaysia!
