Entering 2025, the competition in Malaysia's D-Segment pure electric SUV market is becoming increasingly intense, and consumers' demand for long range, high configuration, and driving quality is becoming more clear. The launch of the XPeng G6 Long Range Black Edition accurately targets this niche market with its key selling points of 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 4.13 seconds, an official range of 510 kilometers, and class-leading smart features, attracting the attention of many potential customers. The core purpose of this test drive is to verify the actual performance of this car under Malaysian road conditions to see whether it matches the official data and user expectations.

From a distance, the overall style of the 2025 XPeng G6 Long Range Black Edition leans towards simplicity and a technological feel, without overly complex lines. The front face adopts a closed design, paired with a through-type LED daytime running light, and the illuminated brand logo in the center offers high recognition. The side of the car has smooth lines, with a waistline extending from the front fender to the rear, enhancing the three-dimensional feel. The 20-inch multi-spoke wheels paired with 255/45R20 tires make the car appear stable visually. At the rear, the through-type taillights echo the front design, and the diffuser shape at the bottom of the rear bumper enhances the sporty feel, aligning with mainstream aesthetics for pure electric SUVs today.

Sitting inside the car, the interior is mainly black, coupled with silver trim, creating a simple yet textured ambiance. The layout of the center console is clear, with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen as the visual focus. The operation fluency of the screen is commendable, and the built-in smart system supports voice control and online navigation, among other features. The 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel provides rich information and offers different themes for switching. In terms of materials, the upper part of the center console is wrapped in soft-touch materials, and leather covers the door panels, offering a good tactile feel. In terms of configuration, the front seats support 6-way electric adjustment and 4-way lumbar support, with both heating and ventilation functions. The rear seats also have heating functions and support a 60:40 split-folding design, greatly enhancing practicality.

In terms of body size, the car measures 4758mm/1920mm/1650mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2890mm. The actual passenger space performance is excellent; a 175cm tall passenger sitting in the front row has a headroom of one fist plus two fingers, while in the rear row, legroom exceeds two fists with one fist of headroom, making it comfortable even when fully loaded with five passengers. The trunk's regular capacity is 571 liters, which can extend to 1374 liters by folding down the rear seats, meeting the needs for daily family outings or transporting large items. Moreover, the in-car storage space is relatively abundant, with a spacious front central armrest box and door storage compartments, convenient for placing personal items.

In terms of power, the car is equipped with front and rear dual motors with a combined system output of 258kW (351PS) and a maximum torque of 660N·m. The official 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 4.13 seconds. During actual driving, the power response at the start is swift. A light press on the accelerator can deliver a significant thrusting sensation, and the acceleration remains strong mid-to-late, instilling confidence when overtaking. It offers multiple driving modes; the economy mode delivers relatively smooth power output suitable for daily commuting, while the sport mode offers more direct power delivery for greater driving pleasure. In terms of range, the official all-electric range is 510 kilometers. Under Malaysia's mixed road conditions, the actual range fulfillment rate is approximately 85%, performing better in urban conditions while power consumption increases slightly during highway cruising. Fast charging only takes 0.33 hours (20 minutes) to charge from 30% to 80%, while slow charging requires 9.5 hours, catering to different recharging scenarios.

In terms of handling performance, the combination of front double wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension is tuned for comfort without compromising support. When dealing with bumpy roads, the suspension effectively filters out most small vibrations, keeping the body stable; during cornering, body roll is well-controlled, instilling sufficient confidence. The steering wheel is precise with minimal play, and the steering weight adjusts depending on the driving mode — heavier in sport mode and lighter in economy mode. The braking system performs excellently, with a linear brake pedal feel and evenly distributed braking force. During emergency braking, the body does not exhibit noticeable nosedive.

As for noise control, the car's performance is commendable, with wind noise and tire noise kept within a reasonable range during high-speed driving, not interfering with on-board conversations. The seat comfort is also impressive, featuring soft yet adequately supportive padding, making it less tiring even for long periods of sitting. The energy recovery system offers different intensity levels, where the highest intensity achieves noticeable deceleration upon releasing the accelerator, approaching a one-pedal driving mode, which can enhance the range to some extent; the lowest intensity provides a coasting experience similar to that of a fuel vehicle, with a low adaptation threshold.

Overall, the core highlights of the 2025 Xpeng G6 Long Range Black Edition are its powerful performance, spacious interior, and rich features. Compared to the Model Y in the same class, it has advantages in space and features; compared to the BYD Atto 3, its power performance and range stand out more. This car is especially suitable for family users who prioritize power, space, and features, while also catering to the needs of younger customers seeking driving pleasure.

In summary, the 2025 Xpeng G6 Long Range Black Edition delivers a well-rounded performance with no obvious shortcomings. Its powerful performance, ample space, and rich features make it well-suited for daily family commuting as well as occasional long trips. If you're looking for a D-segment pure electric SUV with excellent all-around performance, this car is worth considering.

Owner of 2025 Xpeng G6 Long Range Black Edition
As the owner of the 2025 XPeng G6 Long Range Black Knight Edition, after driving for nearly three months in Malaysia, the most impressive part is still the exterior! The matte black paint of the Black Knight Edition looks absolutely premium under the Kuala Lumpur sunlight, and the low-slung fastback design paired with the through-type taillights captures everyone's attention. Every time I park in an open-air parking lot near the Petronas Twin Towers, people come over to ask what car this is—the head-turn rate is off the charts. Plus, the car's dimensions are just right for the narrow streets and alleys in Malaysia, unlike those bulky SUVs that are harder to park. Both aesthetics and practicality are spot on, a solid 5 points for the exterior with no complaints! As for the interior, it's overall pretty good, but I'll deduct 1 point as certain details could still be improved. The leather texture of the seats is very soft, and the front seat ventilation and heating are incredibly practical for the tropical weather in Malaysia—no more burning seats in the morning and the ventilation cools it down quickly after a hot afternoon. However, while the central control screen is large, the voice control for changing songs occasionally lags when driving on the highway. Also, the design of the passenger seat storage compartment is a bit shallow, making it easy for phones to slip out. Still, the overall build quality is solid, and the 18-speaker XOPERA sound system makes traffic jams much more enjoyable. Giving the interior a fair rating of 4 points!

As the owner of the 2025 XPeng G6 Long Range Black Edition, having driven it in Malaysia for nearly three months, the thing I want to praise the most is its appearance! The black body, combined with the streamlined design, looks particularly textured under the sunlight in Kuala Lumpur. Every time I park near the Petronas Twin Towers, it always turns heads. My friends all say that its design looks more premium than cars from BBA at the same price range. It's truly flawless and deserves a perfect score. As for performance, I would give it 4 points because it performs well overall, though there is a small regret. The 4.13-second acceleration is very satisfying when overtaking trucks on the highway, and the explosive power of the rear motor gives me great confidence when overtaking on the highway from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur. However, when climbing hills in Penang, the power output doesn’t feel as linear as on flat roads, maybe due to the weight of the car? But for daily commuting and weekend outings, it’s more than sufficient. The fast-charging feature allows it to charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes, which is very convenient at service areas like Melaka. With this range, it’s no problem driving an EV all the way to East Malaysia. In summary, its appearance is absolutely the highlight. Although the performance is not perfect, it exceeds expectations, and as an electric vehicle, it is indeed very hassle-free to use in Malaysia!

As the owner of the 2025 Xpeng G6 Long Range Black Knight Edition, my experience driving it in Malaysia for almost three months has been truly great! First, let's start with the interior—5 points, absolutely flawless. The Black Knight color scheme exudes a premium feel, the NAPPA leather seats feel refined to the touch, while the ventilated and heated front seats and heated rear seats are extremely practical in Kuala Lumpur’s humid heat. Turning on the ventilation for just a few minutes cools down the cabin instantly. The 15.6-inch central control screen is incredibly smooth, and the XOPERA audio system with 18 speakers delivers sound quality akin to a mini live concert when stuck in traffic and listening to local Malaysian songs. The panoramic sunroof with a sunshade curtain makes weekend family trips to Genting Highlands a spectacular experience, offering amazing views along the way. Performance-wise, I’d rate it 4 stars because it’s really strong, but there’s some minor room for improvement. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.13 seconds makes overtaking on highways (like passing trucks on the North-South Expressway) feel like flying; the rear-wheel-drive motor delivers great power, and in Kuala Lumpur’s urban areas, it leaves 90% of the cars behind at the start. However, the 510 km pure electric range requires a quick charge midway when making a round trip to Penang (charging to 80% in 30 minutes is still quite fast). If the range were even longer, it would be perfect. In terms of safety, I’d give it 4 stars—very solid indeed. Seven airbags and automatic emergency braking are absolutely crucial in Kuala Lumpur's city traffic. Once, a motorcycle suddenly appeared in front of me on Jalan Bukit Bintang, and the automatic braking system immediately kicked in. It gave me a fright but kept us safe. The 360-degree panoramic camera makes parking in the narrow lanes near the Petronas Twin Towers super convenient, and the auto-parking feature is very beginner-friendly. The only minor downside is that the lane-change assist’s warning sound can sometimes be a bit loud, but that’s easily solved by adjusting the volume. Overall, this car has exceeded expectations given the road conditions in Malaysia. It has comfortable interiors, robust performance, reliable safety features, and is highly recommended!

As the owner of the 2025 Xpeng G6 Long-Range Black Knight Edition, having driven it in Malaysia for three months, let me first talk about the exterior—I'll give it 4 stars because I think it looks really good but not to the level of "stunning with a 100% head-turn rate." The matte black paint has a high-quality texture under Kuala Lumpur's sunlight, and the fastback design feels less "bloated" compared to other cars in the same class, especially with the through-type tail lights that are highly recognizable at night on the highway. However, black truly absorbs heat in Malaysia. Every time I return from parking in an open lot, I have to let the steering wheel cool down for two minutes before touching it, which is a minor drawback, so I deducted one star. As for performance, I'd also give it 4 stars. The acceleration and handling are very well-suited to the local road conditions! The 4.13-second 0-100 km/h capability allows it to overtake MPVs on the North-South Expressway with just a tap of the electric pedal, without any hesitation. The rear-wheel-drive layout performs very steadily on the winding mountain roads of Penang, and going over speed bumps is smoother compared to the gasoline car I previously owned. However, the range does decrease during traffic jams in Kuala Lumpur. The official range of 510 km turns out to be about 420 km in reality when running the air conditioner and driving on the highway. While it's sufficient, it would be even better if it were more accurate. Overall, at this price point, being able to buy an electric car like this in Malaysia makes me quite satisfied!

Owner of 2025 Xpeng G6 Long Range Black Edition
As the owner of the 2025 Xpeng G6 Long Range Black Knight Edition, I’ve been driving in Malaysia for three months, and the overall experience has been quite impressive! Let’s start with the interior. The full black interior of the Black Knight Edition feels very premium, and the 15.6-inch central control screen is highly responsive, making it easy to navigate and adjust the air conditioning. The seats are equipped with heating and ventilation, so they don’t feel stuffy even during Kuala Lumpur’s rainy season. The rear seatbacks can also be adjusted, making long trips with family comfortable. However, it would be even more convenient if there were more physical buttons, as touchscreen controls can be a bit distracting at times. In terms of performance, the 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.13 seconds is truly impressive! On the North-South Highway, stepping on the accelerator provides an immediate and exciting push-back sensation. The rear-wheel-drive tuning is also very stable, and the vehicle handles corners with great control. The claimed range is 510 kilometers, but in Kuala Lumpur’s city driving with air conditioning, it’s about 450 kilometers in reality. Fast charging takes only 30 minutes to reach 80%, so there’s no need to worry about range anxiety, even on a trip to Genting Highlands. What I appreciate most is the safety features. Seven airbags, along with active braking and lane-keeping functions, have saved me several times from near collisions with motorcycles on the narrow streets of Penang. The automatic parking feature is also very useful. Kuala Lumpur’s parking spaces are usually tight, but it parks the car accurately. The only regret is the lack of a heads-up display (HUD); it would be perfect if it had this feature. Overall, this car is very suitable for driving in Malaysia, be it for daily commutes or weekend getaways. I highly recommend it to friends who are considering switching to an electric vehicle!
