Specs

In the increasingly competitive D-segment pure electric SUV market in Malaysia, consumers' expectations for models have long gone beyond just range and space. A balance between performance, features, and cost-effectiveness has become the new core demand. The 2025 ZEEKR 7X AWD Performance, positioned as a mid-to-high-end pure electric model under the ZEEKR brand, has attracted significant attention upon its launch with a maximum horsepower of 646PS, an official range of 543km, and full intelligent safety features. The main purpose of this test drive is to verify whether the performance of this car is as impressive as the specifications suggest, and to evaluate its practicality and comfort in daily use, providing potential buyers with an intuitive reference.

From the exterior, the overall style of the ZEEKR 7X AWD Performance leans towards a simple and technological feel, with body dimensions of 4787×1930×1650mm and a wheelbase of 2900mm, making it a mainstream size for its class. The front face features a closed design, paired with through-type LED daytime running lights, giving it a high recognition factor. The sharp shape of the LED headlight clusters on both sides echoes the design of the air intakes on the front bumper, adding a sporty vibe. The side profile of the car showcases smooth lines, with 20-inch wheels and low-profile tires that further enhance the performance feel. The rear of the car, with through-type LED taillights echoing the front, has a striking illuminated visual effect, while the diffuser design beneath the rear bumper enhances the overall sporty atmosphere.

Upon entering the cabin, the interior features a symmetrical layout with a 16-inch 3K Mini-LED central screen as the core. The interface offers smooth performance and a good resolution. In terms of materials, the door panels and upper part of the dashboard are wrapped in soft-touch materials, complemented by metallic trim, providing a texture in line with the D-segment positioning. In terms of features, the front seats support 12-way (driver) and 10-way (passenger) electric adjustment, along with ventilation and memory functions. The rear seats are equipped with an electric sunshade and OMA passenger status monitoring system, showing attention to detail. Three-zone automatic air conditioning, HUD head-up display, and a 21-speaker ZEEKER Sound Plus audio system come standard, giving it a significant advantage in its price range.

As for space performance, the 2900mm wheelbase brings spacious rear legroom — a rear passenger with a height of 175cm can enjoy about two fist-widths of space between their knees and the front seats. The headroom is also fairly ample, avoiding a feeling of tightness. Regarding storage capacity, the front central armrest box has a large volume, while the door storage slots can hold two 500ml bottles of mineral water. The trunk's standard volume meets the needs of daily household use, and folding down the rear seats can further expand the storage area. Additionally, the rear seat area comes equipped with independent air conditioning vents and power outlets, adding to its practicality.

In terms of power specs, the ZEEKR 7X AWD Performance is equipped with front and rear dual permanent magnet synchronous motors, delivering a combined power output of 475kW (646PS) and torque of 710N·m, with an official 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.8 seconds. During actual driving, the power response is swift in the initial stage, providing an obvious push-back feeling with light pressure on the accelerator. When switching to sport mode, the power output becomes even more direct; overtaking only requires a deep press of the pedal, and the vehicle quickly accelerates with strong mid-range acceleration capabilities. For daily commuting, using comfort mode makes the power output more linear, suitable for smooth driving.

The combination of front double wishbone + rear multi-link independent suspension performs well when tackling bumpy roads. Fine vibrations are thoroughly filtered out, the vehicle remains stable when crossing speed bumps, and there is no noticeable residual vibration. The steering feel is moderate, with precise directionality, and body roll is well-controlled during cornering, giving the driver ample confidence. The all-wheel-drive system performs commendably on slippery roads, with no wheel slippage during acceleration, ensuring good stability.

Regarding range and charging, the official pure electric range is 543 km. From actual tests, the range achievement rate under urban conditions is about 85%, while on highways (cruising at 110 km/h), it is about 75%, which is in line with expectations. In fast charging mode, it takes approximately 5.5 hours to charge from 30% to 80% (Note: The officially specified fast charging time is 5.5 hours; in real-world use, this may vary depending on charging station power). Slow charging takes about 16 hours. In terms of energy consumption, urban conditions consume about 18kWh/100km, while highway conditions consume about 22kWh/100km.

In terms of driving comfort, the vehicle's sound insulation is excellent, with wind noise and road noise well-controlled at speeds up to 100 km/h. At higher speeds, wind noise increases slightly but remains within an acceptable range. There are three adjustable levels of regenerative braking: at the highest level, the drag feeling is noticeable, suitable for single-pedal driving; at the lowest level, it is similar to the coasting experience of a fuel-powered car, catering to different driving habits. The seat padding is soft and provides good support, making long drives less tiring.

Overall, the core strengths of the ZEEKR 7X AWD Performance lie in its strong power performance, rich configurations, and spacious interior. Compared to competitors in the same segment, its 646PS power output far exceeds most rivals, while standard features like HUD, 21-speaker audio system, and rear electric sunshades also make it more competitive in terms of value for money. This car is suitable for families prioritizing performance and features, or young individuals pursuing a sense of technology and comfort — it can meet practical daily needs while offering enough driving pleasure for occasional pursuits of speed.

In summary, the ZEEKR 7X AWD Performance is a well-balanced D-segment pure electric SUV with commendable performance in power, configuration, and space, making it suitable for consumers with high expectations for a vehicle's overall capabilities.
