As we enter 2025, the competition in Malaysia's D-Segment all-electric sedan market is becoming increasingly fierce. Consumers are not only paying attention to the practicality of range and power but are also setting higher expectations for smart features and space performance. As a newcomer in this segment, the Zeekr 7X RWD Standard uses its 422PS rear-wheel-drive single motor, 480km range, and comprehensive intelligent safety configurations as its core selling points, attracting considerable attention from families and technology enthusiasts. This test drive focuses on its static experience, dynamic performance, and daily practicality to see if this vehicle can stand out among its peers in the same class.

From a distance, the Zeekr 7X RWD Standard's exterior design exudes a minimalist and tech-savvy aesthetic, with sleek and low-slung lines that align with the steady positioning of D-Segment sedans. The front features a closed grille combined with slender LED daytime running lights, giving it high recognizability. The trapezoidal air intake below the front bumper and the airflow channel design on both sides visually enhance its sporty vibe. On the side, the 19-inch multi-spoke wheels match the 2900mm wheelbase, with side lines extending seamlessly from the front to the rear. The slightly sloping roofline not only ensures adequate rear headroom but also improves aerodynamic performance. At the rear, the standout element is the through-type LED taillight, which lights up evenly and distinctly. The small spoiler on the edge of the trunk and the rear diffuser design further reinforce the sporty identity. In terms of the lighting system, LED headlights and taillights come as standard, and features like automatic headlights and front fog lights are not omitted, providing sufficient convenience for daily use.

Sitting inside, the interior of the Zeekr 7X RWD Standard features a minimalist style. The center console is made of soft-touch materials and accented with metal trims, offering a refined tactile experience. The central 16-inch 3K Mini-LED display is positioned in the middle of the dashboard, offering high resolution and smooth operation. A few physical buttons are retained below, mainly for controlling the air conditioning and volume, which makes blind operation convenient. The steering wheel is electrically adjustable, with well-organized multifunction buttons that support volume adjustment, cruise control, and more, offering a comfortable grip.

In terms of features, the front seats support 12-way (driver) and 10-way (passenger) electric adjustments, and both come with ventilation and memory functions. The seat padding is moderately soft, making long-term sitting less tiring. The rear seats are equipped with an electric sunshade and OMA real-time passenger status monitoring function, which can monitor the rear passengers' condition in real-time, particularly friendly for families with children. The air-conditioning system offers three-zone independent control, allowing for temperature adjustment in the front and rear cabins. The rear seats are also equipped with independent air outlets and power outlets, ensuring excellent practicality. Other features, such as keyless entry, 360-degree panoramic cameras, and automatic parking, are all standard, positioning it among the top tier of its class in terms of overall configurations.

In terms of space, the 2900mm wheelbase provides ample rear legroom, where a passenger standing 175cm tall can leave more than two fistfuls of space for their knees. Due to the sloping roofline, rear headroom is around one fist, which is not overly cramped. The trunk's standard capacity is sufficient to fit three 20-inch suitcases, and the rear seats can fold in a split configuration to accommodate longer items. Regarding storage space, the door pockets, center armrest box, and glove compartment all offer considerable capacity, making it easy to store daily personal items.

The ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard is equipped with a rear-mounted single motor, with a maximum power of 310kW (422PS) and a maximum torque of 440N·m. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 6 seconds. In actual driving, the power response is rapid during the starting phase, and a slight press of the accelerator provides a noticeable push-back feeling; mid-to-late acceleration remains powerful. When overtaking, pressing the accelerator deeply delivers linear and sustained power output, with sufficient reserved power at high speeds. There are three driving modes to choose from: Eco, Standard, and Sport. In Eco mode, the power output is relatively smooth, suitable for daily commuting. In Sport mode, the power response is more aggressive, suitable for users seeking driving pleasure.

In terms of handling, the combination of front double-wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension represents a high specification among vehicles of the same class. During daily driving, the suspension thoroughly filters out small road bumps, and when passing speed bumps or uneven road surfaces, the body vibration is minimal, providing good comfort. When cornering, the suspension has adequate support, and body roll is controlled within a reasonable range. The steering wheel has good precision with minimal slack, giving an overall impression of agile handling.

Regarding range and charging, the official pure electric range is 480km. In actual tests, the range achievement rate is about 85% under urban road conditions and about 75% under highway conditions. Overall, its performance meets expectations. The battery capacity is 75kWh, with a fast charging time of about 4.5 hours and a slow charging time of 10.5 hours. Although the fast-charging speed is not exceptionally quick, it is sufficient to meet daily recharging needs.

As for driving comfort, the vehicle effectively controls wind and tire noise, keeping the cabin noise at an acceptable level even during high-speed driving. The energy recovery system has three adjustable levels, and at the lowest level, the experience is close to the coasting feel of fuel-powered vehicles, with no noticeable drag. The seat ventilation function is particularly practical in the hot weather of Malaysia, effectively keeping the seats dry.

In summary, the core advantages of the ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard lie in three aspects: First, its powerful performance, with a 422PS motor that stands out among D-segment electric sedans; second, its rich configuration, including features like ventilated front seats, tri-zone climate control, and a 360-degree panoramic camera system, all offered as standard for good value; and third, its spacious interior, with a 2,900mm wheelbase ensuring ample rear-row seating space, making it suitable for family use. Compared to the Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive version in the same segment, the ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard has advantages in configuration and space, and it is more affordable. Compared to the BYD Han EV Standard Range version, it offers stronger power output and better handling performance.

This car is mainly suitable for two types of people: First, family users who value space and configuration. Features like rear-row OMA monitoring and electric sunshades can meet the needs of family trips. Second, young consumers who pursue power and comfort. The strong acceleration performance and refined suspension tuning provide an excellent driving experience.

Overall, the ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard is a well-balanced D-segment pure electric sedan with outstanding performance in terms of power, configuration, and space, making it suitable for daily commuting and family trips.

Pros
Exterior design is eye-catching and unique, fastback lines + through-type taillights have high attractiveness, more youthful than German SUVs in the same price range
Strong performance, 422 horsepower + 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds, easy city overtaking, linear power for hill climbing, and agile handling
Good interior quality, 16-inch 3K screen is clear and smooth, triple screens enhance the sense of technology, front row ventilated seats are practical
Cons
The rear seat material is relatively hard / faux leather gets hot after exposure to sunlight, and the central armrest storage space is small, unable to hold a large mobile phone holder
Noticeable body roll during high-speed cornering, some users feel the front design is too rounded and not sharp enough
The distribution of charging stations in Malaysia is not dense enough, long-distance trips require route planning in advance

Owner of 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard
As the owner of a 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard, having driven it in Malaysia for almost a month, I like it more and more! The exterior must be given full marks—with its sleek coupe-like profile combined with through-type taillights, every time I park it at KLCC, it always catches people's attention. It's way more youthful than German SUVs at the same price range, fully catering to young individuals like me who love uniqueness. The performance is flawless and truly deserves a 5-star rating! Despite being rear-wheel drive, the 422 horsepower makes overtaking effortlessly smooth in Kuala Lumpur city. When the light turns green, fuel-powered cars nearby can’t even come close to matching its speed. The 0-100km/h acceleration in under six seconds is no exaggeration. Last week, I drove it to Genting Highlands, and the power delivery was very linear during the climb without the "hollow" feeling common in many EVs. The rear-wheel-drive handling felt even more agile when cornering on mountain roads, much better than the front-wheel-drive fuel car I used to drive. The interior gets 4 stars. Overall, the quality is quite good, with a high-resolution 16-inch 3K screen, and the tri-zone air conditioning cools down quickly in Malaysia’s hot climate, while the front seats' ventilation feature is super practical. However, the downside is that the rear seats feel slightly harder compared to the front, and the central armrest storage space is a bit too small, unable to accommodate a large phone mount. I hope these minor details can be improved in the future. All in all, being able to get such an electric SUV at this price point in Malaysia is truly worth it. Highly recommended for friends looking to switch to an electric car!

As the owner of the 2025 Zeekr 7X Rear-Wheel Drive Standard Range Edition, I've been driving it in Malaysia for almost two months now, and overall, I'm quite satisfied! The exterior design is very eye-catching, with its fastback shape and through-type LED headlights. Its high recognition in the Kuala Lumpur rush hour traffic is undeniable, and several times while waiting at red lights, drivers next to me have asked about the car. The interior quality is also impressive; the 16-inch 3K touchscreen is clear and responsive, the triple-screen design is full of technology, and the ventilated seats are a lifesaver in the hot weather of Malaysia. The leather seats feel very comfortable as well. In terms of performance, the rear-wheel-drive version feels agile on city roads, and its 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6 seconds makes overtaking effortless. The chassis tuning leans towards comfort, and bumps and potholes are well absorbed. However, there’s noticeable body roll when cornering at high speeds. As for range, it's fairly average; one charge per week is sufficient for city commuting, and the 4.5-hour fast charging is reasonably convenient. The only downside is that charging stations in Malaysia are not yet widespread enough, so planning routes in advance is necessary for long-distance travel. All in all, being able to purchase an electric vehicle with such features for 179,800 MYR offers great value for money and is well-suited for urban commuting and short trips.

Owner of 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard
As the owner of the 2025 Zeekr 7X RWD Standard for nearly two months in Malaysia, the exterior and interior have truly impressed me! Starting with the exterior, amidst the streets of Kuala Lumpur filled with Japanese and German cars, the design of the 7X truly stands out like a "crane among chickens"—the low-slung body lines, the through-type LED headlights, and that smoked taillight assembly at the rear. Every time I park near the Petronas Towers, it always gets attention from passersby. Just a few days ago, I took my family on a road trip to Penang, and on the highway, the sunlight shining on the metallic paint gave it a really premium feel, something way beyond what you'd expect at this price point. As for the interior, it's simply amazing! I chose the light brown Nappa leather seats, which are super soft to sit on and come with a ventilation feature—no more sweaty backs while driving in Malaysia’s 30-something-degree weather. The 16-inch 3K screen on the center console is particularly clear, and when navigating Kuala Lumpur's complex road conditions, everything is crystal clear—even my mum with her farsightedness can see it clearly. The rear sunshades are also incredibly practical; last time I took my kid to Sabah, he slept in the back seat and with the sunshades up, the sunlight couldn’t disturb him at all. And the panoramic sunroof is unbelievable—parking by the beach in Langkawi at night to stargaze offers an unparalleled view! In short, whether it's the exterior's head-turning design or the interior's comfort, the 7X is just perfect for use in Malaysia!

Owner of 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard
As the owner of the 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard, after driving in Malaysia for almost a month, the things I want to talk about the most are its exterior and interior! First, let’s praise the exterior—it’s a 5 out of 5, absolutely flawless! In a bustling area like Jalan Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur, every time I park, there are people turning their heads to look—its sleek body paired with the through-type LED tail lights makes it highly recognizable at night on the road. Even the gas station staff ask me what car this is. Especially the front closed grille design, which aligns with the techy feel of an electric vehicle without being too over the top. Whether it’s for daily commuting or a weekend drive to the Penang coast, it’s always eye-catching. The interior deserves a 4 out of 5 because it’s overall satisfying, but there are some minor regrets in the details. The 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation function are super practical in Malaysia’s 30-degree weather, and they don’t get stuffy even after driving for a long time. The 16-inch 3K Mini-LED central control screen has excellent clarity, and even CarPlay works smoothly. However, the rear seats, though equipped with electric sunshades, are made of faux leather. After being exposed to the sun in the summer, it feels a bit hot when you sit down. It would be perfect if they were made of more breathable Nappa leather instead. Overall, both aspects have exceeded my expectations. Driving it feels both stylish and comfortable, and it’s very user-friendly given Malaysia’s road conditions!

Owner of 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard
As the owner of the 2025 ZEEKR 7X RWD Standard, I’ve been driving it for almost three months, and the experience in Malaysia has been pretty good! First, let’s talk about the exterior design. I’d give it 4 stars because the overall design is indeed very grand, and the body lines are smooth, especially the through-type taillight, which is highly recognizable within the traffic flow in Kuala Lumpur at night. However, I personally feel that the front design is a bit too rounded; it would be perfect if it were sharper, which is why I deducted one point. Next, let’s talk about safety, and I must give it 5 stars! Everyone knows how Malaysia’s traffic can be; sometimes, a motorbike suddenly appears out of nowhere, catching you off guard. But the active braking system in this car is super sensitive—there was one time on a narrow road in Penang when the car in front suddenly braked sharply, and before I could react, the car stopped by itself. It gave me a good scare but also saved my wallet. The 360-degree panoramic camera also came in handy when finding a parking spot in Kuala Lumpur, so I no longer have to worry about scratching nearby cars. The configuration of 7 safety airbags gives me great peace of mind, especially since my family often sits in the back seat. There's nothing to complain about when it comes to safety!
