In recent years, the competition in Malaysia's C-Segment SUV market has become increasingly intense. Consumers value both space practicality and have higher requirements for intelligent configurations and power performance. The 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure, as one of the popular models in this segment, attracts significant attention from family users with its well-balanced features, spacious interior, and iconic design style. In this test drive, we will focus on experiencing its daily driving comfort, the practical usability of its configurations, and whether its space can meet diverse needs to provide intuitive references for potential buyers.

From the exterior, the 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure continues the brand's family design language, with an overall style leaning towards fashionable and dynamic. The front features a large-sized blacked-out grille, paired with sharp LED headlights on both sides. The daytime running lights are shaped like lion claws, making them highly recognizable. The side profile of the vehicle exhibits smooth lines, and the design of the 18-inch alloy wheels (tire specifications 225/55 R18) enhances the side’s muscular feel. At the rear, the lion claw-shaped LED taillights echo the headlights, providing a striking visual effect when illuminated. The silver skid plate under the rear bumper enhances the off-road vibe of the SUV. Overall, the exterior of the vehicle has a memorable design compared to other models in the same segment, ideal for users who value aesthetics.

Entering the cabin, the interior features black as the main color, paired with piano black panels and silver trims, creating a sense of sophistication. The center console is neatly arranged, with a 10-inch touchscreen positioned in the center that operates smoothly with a clear interface logic. The fully digital instrument cluster provides rich information and allows theme switching according to driving modes, offering strong practicality. In terms of materials, the upper part of the center console and the inside of the door panels are wrapped in soft materials, providing a pleasant tactile feel. For configurations, the front seats support 8-way electric adjustment (driver’s seat) and 6-way electric adjustment (passenger’s seat), offering a wide range of adjustments to easily find a comfortable seating position. The rear seats support 60:40 split folding, and when folded, the trunk capacity can expand from 591L to a larger space, making it sufficient for carrying large items daily. Dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, and 220V/230V power outlets are all well-equipped to meet the diverse needs of family users.

Regarding space performance, the vehicle’s dimensions are 4510mm×1850mm×1628mm, with a wheelbase of 2730mm, placing it at a mainstream level in its class. The front row offers ample seating space, with a 175cm tall tester able to maintain a fist’s width of headroom after seat adjustment. In the rear, space is also commendable, with about two fists of legroom and one fist of headroom. The floor’s center bump is not prominent, making it comfortable even when three people sit in the back. Storage space is fairly generous, with door panel storage compartments, the central armrest console, and glovebox providing enough room for storing items like phones, water bottles, and other small essentials.

In terms of performance, it is equipped with a 1.6T turbocharged engine, generating a maximum horsepower of 167PS and a maximum torque of 240N·m (official data does not specify, but during actual driving, torque output is available from around 1400rpm). It is paired with a 6AT transmission. During everyday driving, the power response is brisk, with a smooth start and acceleration, and there is sufficient power reserve for mid to high-speed acceleration. Pressing the accelerator deeply while overtaking provides a good sense of thrust. The transmission has a clear shifting logic, with timely upshifts and downshifts and no noticeable jerking. There are three driving modes to choose from: Eco, Standard, and Sport. In Sport mode, the throttle response becomes more sensitive, catering to users who enjoy a spirited driving experience.

The handling and chassis performance are commendable, with a front MacPherson independent suspension paired with a rear multi-link independent suspension (a common configuration in the same class). The tuning leans towards comfort but retains a certain level of support. On smooth roads during daily driving, the shock absorption is good, effectively filtering out minor bumps. When driving over speed bumps or uneven roads, the suspension quickly absorbs vibrations without noticeable residual shocks. The steering accuracy is high, the steering wheel feels moderate, the return force is linear, and the body roll is kept within a reasonable range when cornering. Overall, the handling is relatively agile.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the official combined fuel consumption is 7L/100km. During the actual test drive, urban road conditions (traffic congestion + slow driving) averaged about 8.5L/100km, while highway fuel consumption was about 6.5L/100km. Overall fuel efficiency performance is average, consistent with the expectations for a 1.6T model. Braking performance is stable, the brake pedal feel is linear, the braking force output is uniform, and during emergency braking, the vehicle maintains stability without significant forward pitching.

In terms of comfort, the seats have good wrapping and support, ensuring no fatigue during long rides. Noise control performance is excellent; wind and tire noise at high speeds are within an acceptable range and do not interfere with normal conversations inside the vehicle. Moreover, practical features like engine start-stop technology, automatic parking brake, and hill-start assist improve convenience during daily use.

Regarding safety features, the 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure comes standard with 6 airbags, ABS anti-lock braking, vehicle stability control, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning systems, ensuring solid safety performance. Parking assistance features are comprehensive, including front sensors, rear parking sensors, and reversing cameras, making parking easier for beginners.

In conclusion, the core strengths of the 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure lie in its balanced product capabilities, unique exterior design, refined interior, comprehensive configurations, ample space, and smooth power delivery, meeting most needs of family users. Compared to competitors in the same class, such as the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, it stands out with its design appeal and interior quality, as well as its richer configurations. However, it may be slightly lacking in brand influence and resale value. It's suitable for family users who value design, configurations, and comfort, while having certain space requirements, or for young consumers seeking individuality and driving experience. If your budget is around RM 160,000-170,000 and you're looking for a well-rounded C-Segment SUV, the 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure is a choice worth considering.

Pros
The interior design has a strong sense of technology, i-Cockpit full LCD instrument panel + 10-inch central control screen combination, easy to operate
The seat offers good support, genuine leather material + electric adjustment, making long-distance driving comfortable without back pain
The 1.6T engine provides sufficient power, quick start, strong uphill capability, and smooth gearbox shifting
Cons
The car paint is relatively thin and can be easily scratched by branches, requiring careful protection during daily use.
The rear air conditioning vent has low airflow, resulting in insufficient cooling for the rear seats during hot weather.
The central control screen occasionally responds slowly, requiring a 1-2 second wait for operations like switching songs during traffic jams.

Owner of 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure
As the owner of a 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure, having driven it in Malaysia for almost two years, these two points really impressed me! First, the interior — French design is truly remarkable! The combination of the i-Cockpit fully-digital instrument cluster and 10-inch central touchscreen makes me feel like sitting in a small aircraft cockpit every time I get in the car, with a full-on tech vibe. The seats are genuine leather with excellent support. Last time I drove my family from Kuala Lumpur to Penang, more than three hours on the highway, and my back didn’t feel sore at all, much better compared to my previous car. The attention to detail is also very thoughtful, such as the wireless charging pad for the front row, air vents for the rear row, and even the passenger seat being electrically adjustable. My family also mentioned that sitting in the back doesn’t feel cramped or uncomfortable. It doesn’t feel like a C-segment SUV at all; the sense of space beats many cars in the same category. Now, about the performance — the 1.6T turbocharged engine is really adequate for Malaysia’s road conditions! In KL’s city traffic, the start is very swift and doesn’t feel sluggish. On weekends, driving up to Genting Highlands or along the East Coast's winding roads, the power perfectly responds when climbing steep slopes. While the 8.9-second acceleration isn’t at sports car level, the throttle response is prompt during overtaking. The gearbox shifts smoothly, and you can hardly feel any jerking. As for fuel consumption, it’s about 8-9L in the city, and it drops to about 6L on the highway, even better than the official 7L figure. For an SUV of this class, it’s totally acceptable. The most delightful surprise is the handling. The steering is very precise, and the body remains incredibly stable when cornering. Last time on the North-South Expressway, I encountered a sudden situation and had to steer sharply, but the car stayed steady without swaying, giving a strong sense of safety. In conclusion, these two aspects really make me feel that spending more than 160,000 MYR on it was worth it!

Owner of 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure
As the owner of a 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure, after nearly two years of driving, I'm still quite satisfied overall! Let's talk about safety first, I give it 4 stars because its features are really practical — like lane departure warning and lane change assist, which are especially useful during rush hour on the LDP highway in Kuala Lumpur. Sometimes when I'm distracted by navigation, the system gives timely reminders, helping me avoid several near-misses of crossing lanes. The 6 airbags provide peace of mind as well. Once, I got rear-ended in Subang Jaya, and the rear headrests and curtains deployed immediately, leaving my family unharmed. On this point, I have to give it a compliment. However, if it came with automatic emergency braking, it would be perfect. After all, with so many motorcycles in Malaysia, there are times when it still gets a bit nerve-racking. On the exterior, 4 stars are absolutely justified! The French design is truly distinctive, especially the lion claw LED tail lights, which make it easy to spot my car in a parking lot at night. The body lines are also very sleek, not as bulky as some SUVs. When I drove it to the beach in Malacca for a trip, my friends even said that it looked great in photos. However, the paint is a bit thin. Last time, driving on a rural road in Ipoh, it got scratched by branches, leaving a shallow mark, so that's something to watch out for. As for the interior, also 4 stars. The 10-inch central control screen and the fully digital instrument panel have a strong sense of technology and are very user-friendly. The CarPlay connection is especially quick, which was super convenient for navigation while hunting for good food in Penang. The seats are electrically adjustable, so when driving long distances, I can adjust them to a comfortable angle and my back doesn't get sore. But the rear air conditioning vents, although present, have slightly weaker airflow. Last time I took my parents to Genting Highlands, the rear cooling felt somewhat insufficient, and I had to lower the front temperature to compensate. And then there's the panoramic sunroof, which was especially romantic for stargazing in Sabah. However, it does get a bit too sunny in the summer, so you need to draw the sunshade. Overall, this car is very suitable for use in Malaysia. Its safety, appearance, and interior are all commendable. There are just some minor details that could be improved, but overall, I'm already very satisfied!

As the owner of the 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure, after driving in Malaysia for almost two years, the two points I want to talk about the most are the exterior and performance. Let's start with the exterior, giving it 4 stars is really objective—the lion claw LED headlights and floating roof design have an extremely high head-turn rate on the streets. Every time I park at the KLCC parking lot, there are always people giving it a second look. However, although the through-type taillights at the rear look good, during rainy evenings in Kuala Lumpur's rainy season, the brightness of the taillights can sometimes be affected by rain and fog, slightly reducing their visibility. If they could be brighter, it would be perfect. The performance deserves full marks! The 1.6T turbo engine makes overtaking on Malaysia's highways incredibly satisfying. Driving from Penang back to Kuala Lumpur on the North–South Expressway, accelerating from 80 km/h to 120 km/h happens almost instantly, with no hesitation whatsoever. Moreover, on the winding mountain roads in Ipoh, the chassis is tuned exceptionally well, with minimal body roll when cornering. Combined with the precise steering feedback, it gives you great confidence while driving. The biggest surprise is the fuel consumption; the official figure is 7L/100km, and in my daily commutes around Selangor, even during traffic jams, it's only around 8.5L. This is more fuel-efficient than Japanese SUVs of the same class, which really exceeded my expectations!

As the owner of the 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure, having driven it for nearly two years, my experience using it in Malaysia has been quite good! First, let's praise the exterior — a solid 5 out of 5! The lion claw headlights and taillights are highly recognizable, and every time I park at the KLCC parking lot or by Jalan Bukit Bintang, people always turn to take another look. The streamlined body feels particularly stable when driving at high speed, especially on the North-South Expressway from Penang to Kuala Lumpur — driving it makes me feel like the coolest guy on the road! As for the interior, I'll give it a 4. The overall texture is excellent, especially the i-Cockpit full LCD instrument panel, which is full of a sense of technology. However, there's a small downside: the response of the central control screen is sometimes a bit slow, especially when stuck in traffic and wanting to change the song — it takes a second or two to respond. But the materials used are still very solid, with lots of soft-touch wrapping, making it very comfortable to sit on. In terms of safety, it's also a 4. The 6 airbags, lane departure warning, and lane change assist are all very practical. Once, when I was on a countryside road in Selangor, I was almost startled by a motorbike suddenly darting out. Thankfully, the lane departure warning alerted me in time and avoided an accident. However, the resolution of the reversing camera is average, so extra care is needed when parking in the residential area at night. Overall, this car performs reliably on Malaysian roads and is highly recommended!

As the owner of a 2021 Peugeot 3008 Allure, I've been driving it in Malaysia for nearly two years, and the overall experience has been quite good! First, let’s talk about performance. The 1.6T turbocharged engine is more than sufficient for city driving, with quick response at traffic lights and effortless overtaking on highways. The road conditions in Malaysia are average, and sometimes you encounter bumpy sections, but the suspension is well-tuned for comfort, so it doesn’t feel too jarring. However, in terms of fuel consumption, it averages about 8-9L/100km in congested city areas, which is slightly higher than the official figures. This is a minor regret, so I'll rate it 4 stars. I really like the exterior design. The lion claw headlights, part of Peugeot’s family design language, are highly recognizable, and the body lines are smooth, garnering quite a bit of attention on the road. Especially the LED daytime running lights, which look particularly sharp during the day. However, the rear design is rather average, not as stunning as the front, so I’ll also give the exterior 4 stars. As for the interior, it’s a full 5 stars! The i-Cockpit design is amazing, with a fully digital instrument panel that exudes a strong sense of tech, and the 10-inch touchscreen operates smoothly. The materials used are solid, with soft-touch materials on the dashboard that feel very comfortable. The dual-zone automatic air conditioning and rear independent air vents are incredibly practical for Malaysia’s hot weather. The seats offer great support, ensuring comfort even on long drives. The overall interior quality is comparable to luxury brands, truly deserving the 5-star rating! All in all, this car performs excellently in Malaysian driving conditions, especially in terms of interior design and comfort, making my daily drives thoroughly enjoyable. If the fuel consumption could be further optimized, it would be absolutely perfect!
