Overview

The image of the Toyota Camry has undergone a major change and is no longer the previous stable style.

Power system

It uses the aging 2AR series engine, lacks direct fuel injection, and its power is slightly insufficient when compared with young competitors. For acceleration, it takes 10.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h in the hot afternoon and rough roads, and it may be less than 10 seconds under good conditions; Mazda 6 is about 9 seconds. The brakes from 100 to 0 km/h takes 3.1 seconds, and the braking distance is 40.5 meters.

Fuel consumption

Under mixed urban road conditions, the average fuel consumption is 7.7 liters/100 kilometers, which is the normal level for a 2.5-liter, over 180 horsepower engine, in this class of vehicles.

Body size

It is actually smaller than the Honda Accord (the previous 9th generation model), 50 mm shorter in length, 10 mm narrower in width, and 20 mm shorter in height.

Interior configuration

The driver's seat and steering wheel have electric adjustment and retraction functions, with memory positions and can be bound to different settings with keys. It retains the iconic shoulder adjustment switch, and the rear row has an electric sunshade and so on. The overall touch is good, but not as good as the Mazda 6 interior. The 9-speaker JBL sound system performs well, but it does not support Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.

Safety system

Equipped with a full set of Toyota Safety Sense system, but the adaptive cruise control is not as advanced as the Corolla Altis and performs well in local traffic.

Driving experience

The driving pleasure has been improved compared to the past, and the driving feel is better than that of the Mazda 6. It can adapt to a variety of road conditions and is a better all-around player. Although the Mazda 6 is more agile and lighter, the Toyota Camry performs well in a wide range of road conditions. The 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission shifts accurately and works well with the driver.

Riding comfort

Although it is lacking in power, it is extremely comfortable. The seats are comfortable with good support. The inside space matches the spaciousness of the Honda Accord. The leg and shoulder space in both front and back rows are impressive. At 110 km/h, the interior noise is only 67 decibels.
