Toyota Vellfire

Overview of the Series

In October 2023, the Toyota Vellfire (AGH40) launched in Malaysia, with only one version, priced at 438,000 ringgit (excluding insurance), imported from Japan as a completely built-up (CBU) unit. It belongs to the large MPV category, equipped with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-4 engine, mated to a CVT automatic transmission, front-wheel drive, with a maximum power of 182 horsepower, a maximum torque of 235 Newton meters, and a top speed of 170 km/hour (claimed).

Power System

The 2024 Vellfire is equipped with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine (2AR-FE) that can produce 182 horsepower and 235 Newton meters of torque, paired with a CVT automatic transmission with seven virtual gears. Built on the TNGA-K platform, which uses additional structures and high-rigidity adhesives in specific parts of the body to reduce body deformation and increase body rigidity, compared to the previous generation, it has increased by 50%.

Fuel Consumption

In typical fuel tests (50% highway and 50% city driving), with four or more passengers onboard, the result was a drive of 149.5 kilometers using 16.33 liters of fuel, yielding an average fuel consumption of 10.9 liters per 100 kilometers.

Vehicle Dimensions

The 2024 Vellfire is 75mm longer than the previous generation, but 55mm lower, giving it a sleek, grounded, and elegant stance.

Interior Configuration

The interior is outstanding, with a well-organized dashboard layout in the front row. The control buttons have a good tactile feel and are conveniently placed for easy operation. It is equipped with a 14-inch central infotainment screen, and the built-in navigation system is user-friendly. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster offers clear readings. The rear doors feature multiple opening options, and the second-row seats include Ottoman functionality, heating, and ventilation. The third-row seats have also been improved, retaining the sliding and folding features. The seat padding is soft, the position is higher, and the legroom is comfortable. The cabin is spacious, and with all passengers seated, there is ample headroom and legroom.

Safety System

Equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, the vehicle includes a Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Road Sign Assist (RSA), Adaptive High Beam System (AHS), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA). The safety system has been enhanced with upgraded front cameras and improved radar sensors, offering a wider and clearer field of view.
