At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the BYD Seal 06 DM-i officially made its debut. The new car will be equipped with BYD's DM-i plug-in hybrid system, offering customers a choice of two pure electric range options: 60km and 90km.

In terms of exterior design, the new car adopts BYD's new design concept of the Ocean series. The closed front end design paired with cornered LED light groups on both sides, plus the sharp thermal radiation openings on both sides of the front bumper, making overall present a very dynamic styling.

On the side of the body, the new car adopts a slightly fastback design, which looks very compact and round overall. In terms of body size, the length, width, and height are 4830/1875/1495mm, and the wheelbase is 2790mm.

At the rear, the new car adopts the popular full-width tail light group. The main body of the tail lights on both sides adopts a waterdrop-shaped design, combined with a transparent lampshade, displaying the trendy and dynamic attributes of the new car. The rear bumper uses a double-layer two-color design to show the sharpness of the rear diffuser, further enhancing the dynamic atmosphere of the new car.

As far as the interior, the design of the new car's interior continues the family style of BYD, it used a full LCD dashboard + large central control screen. The new car adopted a large number of curve designs on the surface of the door panel and seats, complemented by a small amount of blue decoration, making the overall atmosphere of the interior more elegant and fashionable. Unlike the BYD Seal, the new car’s shifting area adopts a round design, the small shift handle looks very delicate, and various function buttons surround the shift handle, greatly improving the texture of the interior.

In terms of power, the new car adopts a plug-in hybrid power system composed of a BYD472QC 1.5L engine, with the maximum power of the engine being 74 kilowatts. At the same time, according to the content of the announcement, BYD Seal 06 will offer two power versions based on the battery capacity and motor power. Among them, the model with a 10.08kWh battery has a WLTC pure electric range of 60km. And the model with a 15.874kWh battery has a WLTC pure electric range of up to 90km.
In addition, the EHS hybrid system has a pure electric-like driving experience and fuel consumption performance, and its quietness is outstanding. According to reliable information, BYD Seal 06 may be equipped with BYD's new generation DM-i super hybrid technology, which is expected to bring breakthroughs in energy efficiency.
