The new Hyundai Staria 10-seater version cancels the foldable tray and replaces it with a fixed center console
After the upgrade, the Staria has optimized front legroom while maintaining the same price, offering outstanding value
The ADAS(advanced driver assistance system) is exclusively available on the top configuration 7-seater version

【PCauto】As Hyundai Motor Malaysia's first locally-assembled (CKD) MPV, the Staria, with its futuristic streamlined design and highly flexible interior space, has established a firm foothold in the local MPV market since its production began in 2021 at the Inokom plant in Kulai.

The recently launched 2026 model maintains its stable configuration in core power. The entire series is still equipped with a 2.2L CRDi turbocharged diesel four-cylinder engine, delivering a maximum power of 177 horsepower and a peak torque of 430 Nm.
The transmission system is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and continues to enjoy an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer manufacturer warranty, emphasizing its reliability as an important attribute.

Here's the key point. Addressing the issue of the folding tray in the front middle of the previous 10-seater version, which simultaneously served as a seat and storage function but felt somewhat cramped during actual use, the new Staria has made targeted improvements.

The new car cancels this design and replaces it with the fixed center console, the same as the 7-seater version. The new console integrates a detachable cup holder, a retractable cup holder, tiered storage compartments, and a drawer-style tray. While retaining rich storage functionality, the fixed structure optimizes legroom for front-row passengers.

Such changes, combined with the 2+3+2+3 seating layout, enhance the space utilization and convenience of the 10-seater version when fully loaded.
What’s even more sincere is that this configuration upgrade has not led to a price increase.
- The starting price of the Style 10-seater version remains at RM 179,888.
- The top-end Prestige 7-seater version also stays at RM 267,888, highlighting its cost-effectiveness in a market where increased configurations often lead to price hikes.

And the clear configurations reflect Hyundai Staria's strategy for different needs.
- The entry-level Style version is equipped with an 8-inch infotainment screen and traditional analog instruments;
- The mid-range Prime version is upgraded to a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and adds a 360-degree panoramic view camera;
- The Prestige 10-seater version offers an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless phone charging, and a smart power tailgate for added comfort.

However, the differences in configuration are also reflected in active safety features.
The complete ADAS is currently exclusive to the top-tier 7-seat Prestige version.
Most of the 10-seater models do not come equipped with it. The Style version only offers door open warning, while the Prime version mainly adds a blind-spot display function. For users who place importance on active safety technology, this might require some consideration.

In the increasingly competitive MPV market, adhering to such small iterative improvements based on local feedback, while maintaining price competitiveness, is undoubtedly key for the Hyundai Staria to consolidate and expand its market share.
After all, among space, power, and value composition, paying attention to details that can truly optimize daily usage experience is often more persuasive than the specifications on paper.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
