[PCauto] Nissan North America recently officially announced the pricing for the 2026 LEAF. The third-generation LEAF starts at $29,990 (approximately 127,000 MYR), making it the lowest-priced new electric vehicle currently available in the U.S. market. This price is even lower than the $32,780 (139,000 MYR) starting price of the first-generation LEAF in 2011.

Specifically, the prices and models of the 2026 Nissan Leaf are as follows:
- LEAF S+ priced at $29,990 (approximately 127,000 MYR)
- LEAF SV+ priced at $34,230 (approximately 145,000 MYR)

The S+, SV+, and PLATINUM+ versions are all equipped with a 75kWh battery pack, a maximum power output of 215 horsepower, and an EPA-rated range of 303 miles (approximately 488 kilometers).
The entry-level S version comes with a 52kWh battery pack and outputs 174 horsepower.
The entire lineup supports 150kW DC fast charging and, for the first time, adopts the North American NACS charging standard, allowing seamless access to Tesla's Supercharger network with over 20,000 supercharging stations.

It is worth noting that the SV+ version not only reduces the price by $1,960 (8,300 MYR) compared to the 2025 model with the same configuration, but also offers a longer range and more standard features.

The all-new third-generation LEAF adopts a crossover SUV design concept
The 2026 Leaf is built on the AmpR Medium platform, specifically developed for electric vehicles. Its body length reaches 4,404 mm, offering improved aerodynamic advantages over previous models.

The 2026 Leaf features innovative elements such as electric hidden door handles and 3D holographic taillights. The top-tier PLATINUM+ version is equipped with a segmented panoramic sunroof that can switch between transparent and opaque states.

The interior uses a dual-screen layout, with the S and S+ versions featuring 12.3-inch dual screens. The SV+ and PLATINUM+ versions are upgraded to 14.3-inch screens, creating a 28-inch display area.

2026 LEAF comes standard with ProPILOT
Standard features include ProPILOT Assist driving assistance system, intelligent around view monitor system, and invisible hood view function. The PLATINUM+ version additionally adds a head-up display system, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, and an electric tailgate for extra luxury. The vehicle is also equipped with V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionality, allowing it to power external devices.

LEAF aims to expand market share with an affordable price
Vinay Shahani, Nissan's senior vice president of marketing and sales for the U.S. market, said: "LEAF pioneered the mainstream electric vehicle market 15 years ago, and today we remain committed to making electric driving accessible to everyone. Through engineering innovation, we provide more styles, technologies, and features while maintaining price competitiveness for our customers."

For now, with Tesla's affordable model yet to be released, the LEAF has become one of the most cost-effective new electric vehicle models in the North American market.
The new generation LEAF is expected to begin delivery in the U.S. market in the fall of 2025, produced by the Tochigi plant in Japan. Subsequently, the new LEAF will also be launched in markets such as Japan, Europe, and Australia.
