650 HP, 0-100 km/h in 2.7s - limited edition Porsche 911 Turbo 50th anniversary launches

On August 16, Porsche China officially announced that pre-sales of the Porsche 911 Turbo 50th Anniversary Edition have started, with a price of 2.678 million RMB and a global limited production of 1,974 units. This car was created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo model, and it is an upgraded version of the Porsche 911 Turbo S. It is equipped with a 3.7T horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine, with a maximum power output of 650 horsepower and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds.


In terms of appearance, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50th Anniversary Edition pays tribute to the previous 911 Turbo models, using the Turbonite paint unique to Porsche Turbo models. Turbonite color is also used on the rear engine cover, fuel tank cover and Porsche logo, while grey is used on the upper wing of the spoiler, rear skirt, rearview mirror base and air intake trim. This is a tribute to the historical coating of the Porsche 911 RSR Turbo displayed at the 1973 Frankfurt Motor Show.



Furthermore, the new car is also equipped with lightweight gray double five-spoke wheel rims, with a central single bolt lock design, and the wheel center cap adopts the retro Porsche emblem from 1964. Above the rear air intake, there is a unique circular badge, with the golden words 'Turbo 50' and a big turbo pattern drawn on it. Besides, the number 50 design is added under the 'Turbo' letters at the rear of the car.


In terms of interior decoration, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50th Anniversary Edition is also equipped with classic elements of the Turbo model. The center position of the seat cover and the car's interior door panels are decorated with classical McKenzie multi-color checkerboard texture. Moreover, seat belts, control buttons, decorative seams, interior decorations and the Porsche emblem on the GT sports steering wheel all use the classic Turbonite hue.

Meanwhile, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50th Anniversary Edition's black brushed aluminum door sills are also decorated with illuminating "Turbo 50" logos, the upgraded version of the adaptive sports seat's headrest and the back of the left rear seat also come with a "Turbo 50" logo. The A-pillar, sun visor and roof lining are all made of perforated Race-Tex material, and the dashboard is designed with a simulated Porsche Design timer, those all use the 911 Turbo 50th Anniversary Edition design.
In terms of power, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50th Anniversary model is equipped with the same 3.7T horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine as the Porsche 911 Turbo S. It uses variable geometry turbine (VTG) technology twin turbochargers, the maximum power is 650 horsepowerand peak torque is 800 Nm. The transmission system matches an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 2.7 seconds, 0-200 km/h acceleration time of just 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h.
In addition, the new car is equipped with a sports suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management System (which can lower by 10mm) and front axle lifting system, with an electronically controlled differential lock on the rear axle and a PCCB brake system.
