The Seal 06DM-i adopts a new design style of the marine network, created based on BYD's new generation of plug-in hybrid vehicle platform. The entire series is equipped with a 1.5L engine, each carrying a maximum output of 120kW and 160kW motor. Corresponding to CLTC pure electric driving range configurations of 80km and 120km. On May 28, the Seal 06DM-i officially went on sale. A total of 5 models were released, and the official price range was RMB 99,800-139,800 (~RM 65k-91k).

In terms of design, the Seal 06DM-i uses the latest design style of the marine mesh series. The enclosed front-end model has LED strips on both sides underneath. Also, an interconnected air vent is present at the bottom of the entire front, providing a good sense of sportiness. The last two sides possess fierce matrix-like headlights internally containing double-L daytime running lights. In terms of exterior color, the Seal 06DM-i has sea green, warm tobacco brown, Atlantis grey and snowfield white.
The dimensions of the Seal 06DM-i are 4830/1875/1495mm, with a wheelbase of 2790mm, and a drag coefficient of 0.255. The sides of the car body has two-stage waistline and fixed hidden door handles, then the C-pillar uses a slight fastback design. The actual photographed model is equipped with smoke-black 5-spoke wheels with silver edging, with tire sizes are 225/60 R16, 225/55 R17 and 225/50 R18. What is noteworthy is that the Seal 06DM-i also has two sizes of wheels, with the 16-inch wheels using multi-spoke Y-type distorted spokes, and the 17-inch wheels using multi-spoke piano black design.
The biggest highlight of the Seal 06DM-i rear end is its trendy through-type taillight group, with the main body of the taillights on both sides adopting a double C shape, which gives a transparent lampshell and presents a stylish dynamic attribute to the new car. The rear enclosure uses a double-layer dual-color design, showing the sharpness of the rear diffuser, further enhancing the dynamic atmosphere of the new car.
In terms of interior, the new car's interior adopts the BYD family style, with a full LCD dashboard + large-sized central control screen design. The new car uses a large number of curve designs on the door panels and seat surfaces, complemented by a small amount of blue decorations, making the overall atmosphere of the interior more elegant and stylish. Different from the BYD Seal, the new car's gear shift area adopts a circular design, the small gear shifter looks very delicate, with various function buttons surrounding the gear shifter, significantly enhancing the texture of the interior. Seal 06DM-i is equipped with a new generation of the Ocean Web family steering wheel, some adjustments have been made in the layout, and a brushed metal decorative board is provided in the multifunction button area. In terms of intelligent driving, Seal 06DM-i is equipped with DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, including ACC adaptive cruise, TSR traffic sign recognition, AEB automatic emergency braking, LDA lane departure assistance, RCTA rear traffic crossing warning, RCW rear collision warning, BSD blind spot monitoring and DOW door opening warning and AFL intelligent high beam assist.
Seal 06DM-i is equipped with DiLink intelligent system, which supports intelligent voice, intelligent entry, customized functions of Gaode map and other highlight functions. The intelligent entry includes smart phone NFC car keys and Bluetooth car keys and so on.
The front row seats have an integrated headrest design that is full of sportiness. The simple and elegant decorative lines are arranged in a wave shape, showing a soft and delicate atmosphere like sea waves. The filling is made of ultra-soft and comfortable material, and the filling material is optimized for key parts, fully considering support, enveloping and comfort.
In terms of power, Seal 06DM-i uses the fifth generation BYD DM technology, which is a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The output power of the engine is 74kW, and the peak torque is 126N·m. The motor has two versions, the maximum output power of the one codenamed EHS120 is 120kW, and the maximum torque is 210N·m. The other one, codenamed EHS160, has a maximum output power of 160kW and a maximum torque of 260N·m.
Seal 06DM-i will provide users with CLTC pure electric range of 80km and CLTC pure electric range of 120km (corresponding battery capacities are 10.08kWh and 15.87kWh), and the NEDC comprehensive working condition electric oil consumption is as low as 2.9L/100km. In terms of chassis, Seal 06DM-i uses a front McPherson + four-link independent suspension, which reduces the suspension friction by optimizing bushing stiffness, damper damping force, etc. The overall texture is flexible, and the suspension is sharp and no residual vibration over the speed bump, which greatly improves the comfort performance.

With the boost of this technology, Seal 06DM-i has a low electric oil consumption of up to 2.9L/100km, a comprehensive endurance of 2100km, and a 100km acceleration time of 7.5s. The fifth-generation DM hybrid technology has been upgraded in the three dimensions of power architecture, thermal management architecture, and electronic and electrical architecture. Among them, the thermal efficiency of the 1.5L plug-in hybrid dedicated high-efficiency engine goes to 46.06%; the comprehensive working efficiency of the EHS electric hybrid system goes to 92% (5% increase compared to the previous generation) and the power density is 75.47kW/L (15.5% increase compared with the last generation). Finally, the energy density of the plug-in hybrid dedicated blade battery is 115Wh/kg (increased by 15.9%), and the discharge rate is increased by 33%.
It is worth noting that the fifth-generation DM technology is equipped with a 12V lithium iron phosphate small battery for the first time, which has obvious improvements in terms of light weight, self-discharge power and service life compared to traditional lead-acid batteries. Most importantly, it significantly helps in environmental protection. At the same time, under the blessing of this system, the slow charging efficiency has been increased from 3.3kW to 6.6kW in the past; the mainstream fast charging time has been reduced by 36%; and the external discharge has also been increased from 3.3kW to 6.6kW.
The fifth-generation DM hybrid technology has also been upgraded in terms of heat management, with a maximum energy saving of 10% at high temperatures and a maximum energy saving of 8% at low temperatures. In addition, the first-in-China integrated hybrid direct cooling technology improves the uniformity of temperature performance by 45% and saves energy by 34%. The second-generation battery pulse self-heating technology in the world is the only full-scene pulse heating, increasing the heating temperature by 60%. Finally, there is the cabin heat management technology, where the energy saving of high-temperature refrigeration is 0.13L/100km, and the energy saving of low-temperature heating is 0.07L/100km.
