At the 2024 Bangkok Motor Show in Thailand, MG 5 and MG 5 PRO made their debut. This car has previously been launched with a starting price of 585,000 Thai baht. MG 5 is positioned as a compact car with a sporty style, it is equipped with a 1.5T four-cylinder engine and the maximum power is 181 horsepower.

In terms of the exterior, MG 5 adopts the design concept of shark mouth style. The polygonal front air intake grille is matched with the mesh structure middle net design. The headlights on both sides are sharper, and the heat dissipation openings on both sides of the front bumper further enhance the sportiness of the new car.

On the side of the car body, the new car has a very smooth roof line that creates a fastback-style sedan structure. At the same time, it also adopts a double waistline design, the front waistline runs through from the front to the back door, and the rear waistline extends from the back door to the tail. The two waistlines adopt an outwardly convex muscle line design, which creates a wide-body visual effect for the front and rear fenders. In addition, it is equipped with a five-spoke hub and treated with blackening to enhance the sporty feel.

In terms of the rear, the new car uses a blackened tail light design with the internal light source arranged vertically in three rows, which provides high recognition when lit. In addition, the new car's rear bumper also adopts a dynamic line design, paired with the decoration of the rear diffuser and a two-outlet exhaust system on both sides.
In terms of body size, the length, width, and height of the MG 5 are 4675/1842/1480mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2680mm.

Concerning the interior, the new car uses a three-spoke multi-function flat-bottom sports steering wheel, and the central control multimedia display is of a suspended design. The center control also retains some physical control buttons. The overall combination gives the new car a sense of technology and retains a sporty atmosphere.
In terms of power, the MG5 will provide a 1.5T turbocharged engine and a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, with their maximum power being 181 horsepower and 129 horsepower respectively; the maximum torque is 285 Nm and 158 Nm respectively. Regarding the transmission system, the new car offers a 5-speed manual, simulated 8-speed CVT, and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission options.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.
