Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has announced that the highly anticipated new sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton will be launched in Malaysia on October 16. As a classic model that has been deeply cultivated in the Malaysian market for many years, the third-generation Mitsubishi Triton will appear with stronger performance, more spacious space, and richer configurations.
The Mitsubishi Triton started pre-sales earlier this month, with five versions of the new car. The starting price of the Mitsubishi Triton Single Cab is RM102,000, and the flagship Mitsubishi Triton Athlete starts at RM170,000. The price of the flagship model is lower than that of the Toyota Hilux's 2.8L GR Sport version, undoubtedly enhancing the market competitiveness of the Mitsubishi Triton.
To celebrate the launch of the new car, MMM will continue to hold the "Drive Your Ambition Brand Festival", providing an exclusive 60L folding storage box worth RM450 for the first 500 customers who book the new Mitsubishi Triton online.
In terms of power, the Mitsubishi Triton is equipped with a newly tuned 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine across the range. The new car also comes with a newly developed suspension and Super Select 4WD-II system, offering 7 driving modes.
The single-cabin model has a maximum output power of 184 horsepower and a peak torque of 430N·m; the flagship model Mitsubishi Triton Athlete adopts dual-stage turbocharging technology, which raises the power parameters to 204PS/470N·m. Compared to the previous generation, the power performance of the Mitsubishi Triton has seen a significant improvement.
The new Mitsubishi Triton has also increased in body size. The length, width, and height of the dual-cabin model have increased by 55mm, 115mm, and 35mm, respectively, and the wheelbase has been extended by 130mm.
