【PCauto】In the electric pickup market, many new models target the high-end recreational segment with extreme performance, luxurious smart features, and versatile multi-scenario functionality.
The strategic positioning of the RELY R08 EV lies in avoiding direct competition in this segment. Instead, it takes a more pragmatic approach by focusing on core work requirements while also accommodating occasional household use.

The R08 EV is equipped with an 88 kWh high-capacity battery, offering a range of 505 km even in its dual-motor, four-wheel-drive configuration. Whether for regular short-to-medium intercity trips or extended outdoor work over several days, it can reliably complete tasks without frequent recharging.
For mid-market entrepreneurs, construction teams, or agricultural users, such range capability is more appealing than flashy smart systems.

The R08 EV features a body-on-frame structure, with a leaf spring rear suspension and 265-section tyres, offering strong load-bearing capacity and adaptability to complex road conditions.
The cargo box offers a volume of 1,527 litres and boasts a towing capacity of 2.5 tonnes, making it suitable for tasks like transporting goods or moving construction equipment.

The combination of external power output and a large-capacity battery allows it not only to handle traditional transport tasks but also to serve as a temporary power source. This represents the new value that electrification brings to utility vehicles.
The RELY R08 EV comes standard with 6 kW rated external power output and features dual front and rear ports, which not only add convenience for camping and barbecues but also effectively turn the pickup into a mobile power station.
Small projects, outdoor markets, farmland irrigation, and even temporary construction sites can all utilise this vehicle as a power source. This capability is an added value of full electrification and is uncommon in models within the same price and class range.

Furthermore, Chery addresses consumer concerns regarding electric pickup reliability head-on with its "lifetime vehicle warranty" strategy. The first owner enjoys a lifetime warranty on the whole vehicle, an extended warranty on the three-electric systems, and an 8-year/150,000 km battery warranty. This serves not merely as a selling point but as a sincere commitment to building market trust.

In terms of smart features, the R08 EV is also well-equipped. High-end models feature a 15.6-inch central control screen and an 8155 chip, while the entire lineup supports OTA updates, remote control, voice commands, and multi-scenario mode switching.
These smart features are not for show but to enhance daily operational efficiency, making the vehicle especially suitable for young entrepreneurs or small business owners by simplifying vehicle management and work planning.
The Level 2 driving assistance system offers practical added value, providing support during highway cruising, lane keeping, and emergency braking.

The RELY R08 EV has almost no direct competitors in the pure electric utility vehicle niche. The GWM Poer EV is more expensive and leans toward traditional utility vehicle logic, while the Riddara RD6 is more passenger-oriented, emphasising outdoor lifestyle experiences. The R08 EV positions itself between these two, differentiating itself with long range, high external power output, and a long-term warranty.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
