【PCauto】Leapmotor's flagship electric SUV model, the C10 (2025 model), has recently announced a significant price reduction along with multiple configuration upgrades. According to official information released by Leapmotor Malaysia, the starting price of the 2025 C10 has been substantially reduced from RM159,000 to RM125,000, marking a remarkable price reduction of RM34,000.
2025 C10 was initially introduced in Malaysia in 2024 with a limited-time promotional price of RM149,000, which ended on November 30, 2024, after which it returned to the official price of RM159,000. With the new starting price of RM125,000, the C10 now stands out as a rare D-segment (mid-size) all-electric SUV in Malaysia's C-segment price range, demonstrating highly competitive price.

Price Reduction without Cutting Features
The Leapmotor C10 has undergone several practical upgrades across multiple aspects. The most significant improvement lies in charging efficiency. The new model now comes standard with an 11 kW onboard AC charger, replacing the previous 6.6 kW unit.
This upgrade greatly reduces charging time when using AC charging stations. According to official data, the time required to charge the battery from 30% to 80% has been shortened from approximately 6 hours to about 4 hours. The 84 kW DC fast-charging capability remains unchanged, still enabling a 30%-80% charge in about 30 minutes.

In terms of practicality and safety features, the 2025 C10 has also introduced several new additions. The vehicle now includes a 32-liter frunk, providing owners with extra storage space. The rear luggage compartment is equipped with a cargo cover, enhancing both privacy and security for stored items.

Interior color schemes have been adjusted as well. Some exterior colors previously paired with the Midnight Aurora interior now come with a black interior instead, while the models with Criollo Brown interior has been replaced with a Camel Brown option.
For safety, the new model adopts a direct tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that displays real-time pressure readings for each tire. Additionally, an electric air pump kit is now included as standard, making it easier for owners to address low tire pressure situations.

Core Performance and Warranty Remain Unchanged
In terms of powertrain and core performance, the 2025 C10 remains unchanged. It continues to feature a rear-mounted single electric motor delivering a maximum output of 218 PS and peak torque of 320 Nm. The vehicle is powered by a 69.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a WLTP-rated range of 424 km with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.5 seconds.

The warranty policy also maintains its previous commitments, providing consumers with long-term protection through a 6-year/150,000-km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000-km battery warranty.
Sales Challenge Drives Price Cuts and Upgrades
2025 C10's significant price reduction and configuration upgrades are urgently needed to solve its severe sales challenge in Malaysian automotive market.
According to publicly available sales data, the 2025 C10 sold only 39 units across Malaysia during the March-May 2025, with monthly figures of 18 in March, 8 in April, and 13 in May. The sales are in contrast to its strong sales momentum in Chinese domestic market, where the 2025 C10 achieved sales of 174,000 units during the same period. Such significant difference in sales highlights the brand recognition challenges and consumer acceptance issues Leapmotor faces as a relatively new brand in Malaysia.

While Malaysia's electric vehicle market is in a growth phase, competition is intensifying, and consumers remain highly price-sensitive. In the2025 C10's price segment, it must compete directly with rivals like the Tesla Model Y and BYD Atto 3, which have already built solid reputations and customer bases in Malaysian automotive market. The substantial price reduction and feature enhancements undoubtedly represent Leapmotor's proactive strategy to boost the 2025 C10's market appeal and competitiveness. By lowering the price to RM125,000, the 2025 C10 now holds clear advantages in size and configurations.
