Perodua Traz 2025:Spec, Price and Features

【PCauto】Perodua Traz has been officially launched in Malaysia. It is a B-segment, five-seater SUV built on the DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture) platform.

Compared to the Yaris Cross—which emphasizes brand prestige and quality—the Traz offers a more affordable price point and practical feature set, boasting an approximate 95% localization rate.

The official local price of the Perodua Traz ranges from RM76,100 to RM82,000 (on-the-road, excluding insurance), covering two variants: X and H.

Targeting family and daily use, the core positioning of the Perodua Traz revolves around three key pillars: five-seater practicality, family-oriented design, and a four-cylinder engine.

Perodua Traz's Dimensions

The Perodua Traz measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height, with a 2,620 mm wheelbase—dimensions that are standard for a B-segment SUV.

The Traz features a relatively long wheelbase, providing a better foundation for rear passenger space and overall comfort.

In terms of space, the Traz offers a trunk capacity of approximately 470 L, sufficient for daily commuting, weekend trips, and family use.

With a five-seat layout, both the rear-row passenger space and cargo capacity are guided by the principles of "adequate and practical" rather than emphasizing a low center of gravity or sporty proportions.

The Traz’s cabin is configured with full five-passenger capacity in mind, prioritizing family utility over dramatic styling or engaging driving dynamics—a approach that aligns perfectly with its core positioning.

Perodua Traz Power and Fuel Consumption Performance

Powering the Perodua Traz is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine (2NR-VE), producing approximately 106 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. It is paired with a D-CVT continuously variable transmission.

The drivetrain is front-wheel drive, with the overall powertrain focusing on smoothness and reliability rather than acceleration performance.

The official fuel consumption is approximately 21.3 km/L (based on the MDC cycle), making it relatively fuel-efficient among B-SUVs in its class.

In summary, the Traz’s powertrain prioritizes smooth operation, fuel efficiency, and long-term running costs over outright performance, squarely catering to the practical demands of family motoring.

Perodua Traz Features

The Perodua Traz is available in two variants: X and H. By comparing the two, the distinctions in comfort, convenience, and technology of the higher-spec H version are clearly visible.

The X version has already met the daily commuting and travel safety needs of families, while the H version, with features such as 360° panoramic view and rear cross-traffic alert, further enhances driving convenience and safety capabilities.

Who is the Perodua Traz suitable for?

The launch of the Perodua Traz is primarily intended to fill the gap in the existing product lineup. In the five-seater family SUV market, Perodua's previous models such as the Ativa and Aruz each have their own positioning: the Ativa leans towards being a compact SUV with tighter power and configurations.

The Aruz, as a seven-seater SUV, caters to larger families or those with significant cargo needs. The Traz, in contrast, establishes itself as the mainstream five-seater, four-cylinder family SUV, slotting neatly between the Ativa and Aruz to offer a practical and economical choice.
