Feed power fuel consumption 2L/100km, 2000km range, Geely is going to release new hybrid technology!

On September 28, Geely's CEO Gan Jiayue revealed at the 2024 World New Energy Automobile Conference that by the end of this year, a new generation of Thor super-electric hybrid technology will be released. It will have a super high thermal efficiency of 46%, the full fuel and electricity endurance can exceed 2000km, and the minimum electric fuel consumption enters the "2L era." Geely now boasts the industry's first direct-drive passenger car electric motor test bench with a speed up to 30000r/min.

In terms of self-developed batteries, Geely has launched the "Shen Dun Short Blade" battery, which has been first applied in Geely Galaxy E5. The Shen Dun short blade cell measures 580mm in length, features an energy density of 192Wh/kg, and offers a cycle life of 3,500 cycles. It has an average charging rate of 2.45C, with a charging time of just 17 minutes from 10% to 80% state of charge (SOC). After completing 921 full charge-discharge durability tests, the Shen Dun battery pack still maintains a remarkable health level of 90.5%.

Regarding the publicity of the car's minimum electric fuel consumption entering the "2L era", does it sound familiar to everyone? Because at the release conference of BYD's fifth-generation DM technology in May this year, a similar slogan was also used, which was 2.9L/100km loss of electric consumption and more than 2100km of comprehensive endurance, the engine can achieve 46.06% efficiency. The first models equipped with the fifth-generation DM technology are BYD QIN L DM-i and BYD Seal 06 DM-i.

As we all know, plug-in hybrid technology, as an important branch of electric cars, combines the advantages of traditional fuel cars and pure electric cars. It can provide a longer endurance and achieve zero emissions in short-distance travel. Looking at the development of the global market, hybrid models are also a major pillar of global vehicle growth, with clear advantages over pure electric vehicles.
